Senior Suites of New City was very nice. It was clean and well-lit. The staff was also very nice, polite, and very courteous. The one-bedroom, for some reason, seems a little smaller than the other facility I visited. They have structured activities. The residents there seemed very pleasant and nice. They were all sitting around in the rec room. There were about 4 or 5 of them, and I was able to talk to one resident, she was saying that she liked where she lived very much. She's very pleased with it. They had parking available in the back so you could go right from your car into the building.

I toured Senior Suites of New City. They have free laundry and utilities are included. Their appliances were a little bit more updated. The staff was pretty nice; I met three of them. The maintenance of the facility is pretty good. They keep it maintained. I got to talk to some of the tenants, but it's pretty quiet there. It's very close to public transportation. The Orange Line train is right by a stop here, so it's convenient if you don't drive. They have two parking lots for the people who live there.

The parking at Senior Suites of New City was small. It didn't look like they took this into consideration when they purchased that property, but I guess that's the reason for the low cost of the place. There's no place for relaxation and there's no place to just come up in front of the building and drop somebody off or something. That could only be done in the back of the building where cars are parked. If you're dropping somebody off, there's no place in the front where you could do that because it's on Western Street and there's no parking for visitors. I didn't get the opportunity to see more than the apartments that were shown to me, which was on the floor with the exercise equipment. I didn't get to see any other floor where they have an area for you to sit. The only amenity I saw was the washing machine, the garbage chute, and the exercise equipment. They don't have a courtyard. There was a small round table outside that could have three to four chairs, and I saw one person sitting there. There was no place that I saw where there's any activity whatsoever. I had very little time in the apartment. I wanted to kind of get a sense of how my things would fit in the apartment, but I wasn't given that opportunity. When I opened up the closet door, I was asked why I did that. The refrigerator was much smaller than what I had at home. I was trying to get an understanding of how much food I was gonna be able to put in that refrigerator, but I was asked, "Why did you open up the refrigerator? Why are you opening up the doors?" The guy had his own way of thinking, but I didn't think he was trying to cause me any harm. I asked was there a way that we could get in and out of the building, and I wasn't given a straight answer, but I knew he was trying. I needed my social security documents and it was sent to their office, so I called the manager up and he politely sent me a copy of my social security documents in the mail.

Senior Suites of New City was all right to a point, but it's not too clean, and the guy who is running it didn't seem to be organized. My overall experience was still pretty decent. The lady I met was very attentive. The studio was pretty nicely sized. It had a little kitchen area and all that stuff. The location was also fine. It is by the road, so transportation would be easy. It's basically kind of like an isolated area, so there is not a whole lot of traffic around there. They have a whole lot of activities going on, and a lot of people hang out with each other. The facility was nice. It's just they had a lot of carpeting, and it has a muddy smell to it.

Senior Suites of New City is very convenient, and they had parking that we were able to park in. They're also very close to any transit and ideally located. I didn't see anything that was negative at all. The manager who welcomed us that day was very accommodating. Everything was so spotless.

Senior Suites was nice; I was impressed with the cleanliness. The rooms were nice; it was a 1-bedroom. What I liked is they had plenty storage; the closets were a nice size. The bathroom was nice and clean. The only problem was the kitchen was a little smaller.

Thank you very much for taking the time to include your review of Senior Suites of New City. I do understand your comments regarding the size of the kitchens. It’s often an adjustment for seniors who may be moving from larger apartments or homes to a community like ours. However, we do find that once residents settle, they are quite comfortable in light of the various common areas we have for residents to use. We additionally find that residents often find it liberating to downsize their belongings and embrace the organization that comes from living in a smaller home. These areas are for resident use and are often used as extensions of the resident's apartment.
Additionally, many of our residents participate in the Senior Suites Meal program we offer 5 days per week.
Thank you for touring our community.

We visited the Senior Suites of New City while searching for a suitable assisted living facility for my great aunt. Many of our family members live in the area, so this would be an ideal place for her to live. The outer grounds looked well-kept and pleasant. The staff greeted us and seemed very warm and friendly - which is the most important thing to our family. We want our aunt to be treated well in her new home. The foyer was nicely decorated and seemed homey, as did all of the communal rooms. The apartments were all clean, well-kept and conveniently designed. They take the time to personalize to each resident's tastes. The activity calendar featured many healthy and stimulating activities. They have outings to local libraries, events, culture, restaurants, shopping and even athletic activities. They take suggestions to update the schedule as much as possible. We also liked that the staff encourages participation and tries to make everything interesting for its residents. The dining areas were nicely designed and warm. Residents may choose communal dining or more private situations. The food looked deliciously prepared, as well as nutritious. The dietician and chef changes up the menu to keep it interesting and encourage resident to make suggestions. There were also places for seniors to visit with families, as well. We've visited several assisted living facilities in the area and thus far, the staff at this one are some of the most friendly we've met.
