Matthew Manor is an elevator building for senior citizens located on the west side of Chicago. The Manor consists of 60 one bedroom units. All apartments have a medical emergency alarm system which is monitored 24-hours/day. Community space consists of a lounge, laundry facilities, mailboxes, offices, a community room with a kitchen and public restrooms. Matthew Manor is sponsored by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago under the Section 202 PRAC program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The facility is operated by the housing division of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Matthew Manor is specially designed for senior citizens who meet the following requirements:
Households of which the head or the spouse is at least 62 years of age or older.
All residents must be able to care for themselves.
Maximum household size: one bedroom unit - 2 persons
Preference will be given by the owner to households who have been displaced or without housing; currently living in substandard housing or paying more than 50% or their income for rent.
