My mom moved into Villas of Holly Brook - Chatham a couple of days ago. So far, she likes it. I feel better about her being there because she needs assistance a lot more and there's someone on site 24 hours. If she needs help, there's always somebody right there. So, safety is a big thing. My mom's apartment is very nice. My youngest daughter said she was jealous of my mom's new apartment. My mom got the one-bedroom. She has a full bedroom, a walk-in closet, a very large bathroom, a living room, and a little kitchen area. They're very clean there. With regards to food, my mom has said that it's a big improvement from the place that she was at. As for activities, I know my mom is getting involved in physical therapy a couple of times a week now. She didn't have that option before, so she's really happy about that. She is getting to know other residents and finding her way around. So far everybody is friendly, and she likes it. There's a park across the street and she can watch kids play there. They have a courtyard in the middle, and then there's a big dining area in there. They have a side room that they use for different things like bingo and stuff like that. Their staff has been friendly. They have different activities. They have like a movie theater, a beauty salon, and a guy that comes in and plays piano for them a few times a year.

What we liked best at Villas of Holly Brook - Chatham is the welcoming atmosphere when you walked into the facility itself. I really can't think of anything they can improve. We were given a guided tour by Kim, chief executive director, and he did an amazing job. He answered all of our questions, gave us tons of information, and followed up with me numerous times to try to make it work for my brother. I've been very impressed. My brother loves working puzzles, and they have a specific area that they've designated to individuals who want to put your puzzles out on the table, and they won't be disturbed, so they can come back, and they don't have to worry about that in their living quarters. They have a movie theater. It's very acclimated to make individuals feel like that's home regardless of what part of the facility they might be doing activities, and we were just very impressed.

My father just moved into Villas of Holly Brook in Chatham, IL, this weekend. He really likes it there. He said the food is really good. The people are really nice to him. He hasn't had any problems yet. He loves his little apartment. We've got him all moved in with his bed and all his furniture, so he feels more comfortable and like he's at home. He said it's nice to know that people don't bother him unless he needs them, and they can always come when he presses his special button around his neck. The people there seem to be very, very kind and helpful. I've never had a problem with anybody on the staff. It is a small place with only fifty residents, so that's good. They have a really nice little outdoor place where they can sit if they want. It is like a garden outside. He really likes it, and he has a little patio; he can sit out on the patio in the garden if he wants. He has a one-bedroom that is hooked on to a living room, it has a little area that goes out to the patio, and the kitchen and bathroom are attached to that. It's a one-bedroom apartment. They have a nice little library with a fireplace and a nice dining hall where everybody can go and eat, but you don't have to eat there if you don't want. The food is really good. My father says he has been really full with all his meals, and they bring him a snack whenever he wants one, so that's good. It seemed like a really nice place. All the residents seem to be happy, smiling, and glad to see us. They have a lot of activities, but he doesn't want to do any of those things; he wants to be left alone. They were the least expensive of all the ones that we checked out, so the price is good.

My dad moved into the Villas of Holly Brook. It's very, very good, we're very impressed, it's exactly what we were looking for, and I'm very pleased with the staff. I really loved the apartment, and how they're working with my dad to incorporate him into the community. I'm happy with everything they're doing. They clean his apartment once a week, they give him his shower twice a week, make sure that he gets down to the dining hall, or they would bring him his meals in his room if he would like, and they administer the medications because they have 2 nurses on staff, and they have LPNs on staff. They check on him at 1:00 am and 5:00 am making sure everything's fine, and they supply a lifeline thing you put around your neck, it goes to the staff, and if he wants anything at all, all he does is push it, and then they come. They have a beautiful community room, they show movies, I think I saw a shuffleboard, and other activities like that, people are doing puzzles, and with dad, they're getting it ready, they're contacting for me, physical therapy and occupational therapy to come in and work with him.

I liked Villas of Holly Brook in Chatham. We had a very good tour. It's a very nice community, and the layout of the building was also very nice. What stuck out of my mind about them is that they had a nurse there 24/7, which is a plus. The workers seemed to be very polite and cordial. We spoke with the chef, who seemed to be very pleasant. They showed me two nice-sized rooms with a large refrigerator and a full-sized stove, a living room, bathroom, and bedroom. They had a snack area for the residents if they want coffee, a piece of fruit, or something like a granola bar. I liked that everything was on one level.

My mom is at Villas of Holly Brook. They are top notch and really friendly. They are very prompt to respond to her call button. She has never complained with the food. There are at least thre or four things going on throughout the day, and there's variety. They have a three-tier seating in-house movie theater, and the seats are very comfortable. If ever I need to go to a place, that's where I want to move.

My dad is a resident of Villas of Holly Brook. The staff is friendly and caring, and the place is immaculate. My dad is constantly checked on at meal times, and encouraged to come out and interact with the other residents to engage conversation. They provide transportation outside of the community for medical appointments three days a week. They have activities, church services, and physical therapy and occupational therapy on-site. They do it all. They serve scheduled meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the dining area. There's always snacks available in the lobby, like cookies or brownies with lemonade or iced tea. The residents know what the menus are, and they have their own refrigerator and kitchenettes in case they don't like what's being served. They provide housekeeping, laundry, and have a barber shop and a nurse on duty. They also have a gym and a theater where they can watch movies and have popcorn. They have a nice courtyard where people can sit outside or on their porches. I'm a nurse practitioner and I work in these places, so I would say that Villas of Holly Brook is a top-notch place.
