I toured Burbank Rehabilitation. The building has two floors. Physical and speech therapy is conducted three to five times a week depending on what the resident can do. I saw three lounge areas, and the staff was there watching the residents. The residents that don't want to go to the lounge area can go outside to a gated yard or they can stay in their rooms. The rooms have two beds, a cabinet, a nightstand, and a phone to make in and outside calls. The rooms have a window and an AC. Each room has two TVs. Laundry is done every other day. The family can also do their loved one's laundry. They also have a barber and beauty shop that they have access to. The nurses are on staff, but their doctors come from a hospital. The doctor toured twice or more times a week. He also examined the patient if needed. There's a nurse practitioner on staff. The rooms, bathrooms, and hallways were extremely clean. No odor.

First of all i just want to thank everyone at VeraCare from the top administration to the hourly waged employees. My father was clean as well as his room, and the facility i never smelled anything except for bleach and soap.. Everyone was friendly and focused My father had been in the hospital since Feb 5, 2018 he came to VeraCare in the middle of march on oxygen, a trach in his throat and other medical problems. My father came home April 16th without the trach and talking i never thought he would see his house again. I waited a week to do my review so i could collect my thoughts, its been a hard long 1 week and i thank you all for putting up with my father and his antics, Hats off ladies and gentlemen you all did a wonderful job and a special thanks to the 2nd floor and my only complaint is that i would have liked some step by step paperwork of the process, like a flow chart and more communication with the administration, its a lot of information to remember Thank You April Cooper A.

My daughter was recently there for rehabilitation. I would recommend this facility to everyone. It was clean. The staff were very responsive and friendly. She made amazing progress due to their physical therapy. The social worker was very helpful in setting up her after care. Hopefully she will never need to go to a nursing home again but if she does, this is where she would go. However, the food could be better.

My mother was at this facility and our family immediately discharge her out. This place has terrible living conditions. The staff and management is horrific and unprofessional especially the administrator. Please save others from not being admitted.

Business office and discharge planning and case management were very disappointing. They did not provide information in a timely manner and were unwilling to take any steps at all to help us understand what needed to happen next. They really took the attitude that it was our problem, not their problem. Actual quote from business office: "I don't know what happened. I've only been here three days." Can I speak to your supervisor? "I am the supervisor."

The staff at this facility are horrible and lack professionalism, as well as have a regard for care and quality. My sister was transferred to this facility through Advocate Christ and from day one it wasn't good. The nursing staff are unprofessional and the doctors have low standard and don't provide quality holistic care. At times I had to request certain services and advocate for my sister to get the care she needed. The social worker has poor communication skills, lacks follow through and doesn't seem to have the patient's best interest in-mind. I have reached out to the Director of Nursing numerous times about the quality of delivery of service and professionalism of my sister's nurses and have yet to receive a call back. As of today, I have decided to lodge a full complaint with the state and bring this facility to someone's attention for a full investigation. I would never recommend this facility to anyone.

This place was awful the staff were very unprofessional from the receptionist to the higher level of staff, My mom was in this facility we had to find a place to relocate my mom because the social worker never returned our calls and when she finally did return our calls after several attempts she said that the place she sent mom's information denied her because she was not able to get in contact with the family. When mom was discharged we received a bill for services that my mom insurance covered we contacted the billing office only to be transferred to the corporate office who knew nothing about the statement.

This place can not deal with any thing beyond what they think is normal. My Mother was admitted as a trach patient needing physical therapy. She also had very bad anxiety attacks that they did not know how to deal with. We asked for a regular schedule of anxiety medicine that they could not understand. The nurses could not read the charts from previous nurse notes posted. The Doctor was not very helpful and just proceeded to tell y mother she would never be able to be removed from the vent/trach removed. She has been home a week and has been successful at doing both. Medicine that was not needed was prescribed by both the doctor and nurses. One hand can not follow what the other hand does. Administration was unhelpful and almost always unavailable. Physical therapy was the best service she received. Speech therapy was slow in helping her make progress. Moms family had to do most of the work for her. Please send you loved one to a place that can handle unusual situations. This one can not. Also when mom was discharged the doctor wrote out prescriptions for medicine she no longer had to take.

My father was in Brentwood for only six days before we removed him and took care of him ourselves for Alzheimer's, within three days he was so much better with us taking care of him. They did not inform us that he was on risperidone (Risperdal), a medicine for schizophrenics, in which he is not nor ever been. We feel he was on risperidone (Risperdal) to knock him out all day and night so they wouldn't have to deal with him. The staff would not answer our questions and we were told to ask the administration, when the administration were asked the questions they gave us the run around. The so called Doctor was very rude and uninformed. Avoid this place like the plague.
