I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I have 17 years' experience with relatives who were residents at Breese Nursing Home. While the appearance is not the best, the care is amazing. The staff truly cares about the residents and makes sure to take care of their needs. There are many long-term employees who are obviously not there because of the pay or the benefits but because they truly love their job and in turn the residents. I have experience with other facilities that have all the bells and whistles and up-to-date decorations, etc. but I found the care to be lacking. I would recommend Breese Nursing Home to anyone who is more concerned about the care their loved one receives rather than the décor.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

For the most part, the staff seem to care about the residents at the facility. However, it seems that there may not be enough staff to make sure that the residents are taken care of 100% of the time. My grandmother is almost always by herself in her room (unless her roommate is there with her). They do have activities for the residents like BINGO and live music. They do not have many amenitites at the facility, but do have a large dining hall and a few meeting or visiting rooms. It seems clean and the landscaping is nice on the outside. But, the decorations are dull and somewhat depressing with brown/grey walls and old tile flooring. It seems that there are several things that could be done to improve the atmosphere and time spent with the residents.
