The tour I had with Magnolia Manor of St. Marys was helpful. It gave us a good idea of what amenities to look for. I was pleased with the area because my brother knew the area well. They were doing some renovations to the one activity room, putting in new carpets, and I like that they were updating. We looked at a one-bedroom as well as a two-bedroom, and there was a two bedroom available, but that wasn't available to us for anywhere from 7 to 8 months. So, that was not going to help us in any way. Jennifer was newly trained. The tour was well done. We were there for an hour and 10 minutes. I loved the layout of the facility itself. It was a one-level building, which I feel is a good safety issue. At the time, the residents were doing a silent auction down the hall and that was kind of nice to meet some of the people there. The dining room was impressive. It led out to a nice screened-in patio. It was something just off the dining room that you could see in the back wooded area, which was pretty to see. I was happy we were able to complete that tour. That helped ease my brother's mind on what to look for. Jennifer was very friendly and was able to communicate with my brother, asking him a little bit about his military experience and engaging him in conversation. When someone's family is there assisting them in finding a new place to relocate, that's a big step and I felt that Jennifer did a nice job of engaging my brother in the conversation and what he would be looking for, what he most enjoyed, hobby-wise, and things like that. That was refreshing because he participated. I like that she made him feel comfortable. I thought its location was good. It wasn't on a main drag. It was peaceful in that area.

I visited Magnolia Manor. It was a one-level facility, and everyone had their own little private patio. It looked like a small facility, but very nice. The dining area was relatively small. The rooms were small but adequate. The staff were very pleasant. I think for an older facility, it looked bright, clean, and very welcoming.

Magnolia Manor of St. Marys was very nice and I'm taking my friend tomorrow to let them look at it. It was very outstanding, it seems to have just about everything. I met a couple of the staff and they're very congenial and helpful. The rooms were larger and laid out nicer than where my friend is now. They were having activity programs for the residents while we were there, which my friend's present facility does not do.

Magnolia Manor of St. Marys was on the bottom of our list because they don't allow pets. It's a small place, there weren't that many people there, and their average age was higher than other places. They are located about five miles from one town in either direction, and they take you to shopping and activities. The apartment was nice, but they had no option other than carpeting on the floor. There weren't very many people there to have activities with because they acted older, and it wasn't located in an active area. Its location was kind of remote. The staff member during the tour was very enthusiastic.

Tina gave me the tour at Magnolia Manor of St. Marys, it was excellent, and she offered to let me stay for lunch. The facility was quite small, but they have plans of enlarging and growing because they have a large property. It's close to a state park and old St. Marys, and they have a submarine base there for the US Navy. It was much more reasonable as far as cost of living expenses go, and I like this community quite a lot. Some people were quilting and drawing, and some were doing puzzles when I was there.

I liked Magnolia Manor of St. Marys and the area surrounding it. If it was closer to us, we would have chosen this place. We enjoyed the tour, and the ladies who helped us were very cordial and presentable.

The Magnolia Manor of St. Mary’s was very nice and very pleasant. The rooms were very nice and sufficient enough. Everything was perfect. It was a beautiful, brand-new place. I would rate is as excellent. The staff was very accommodating. The dining area was quite large.

We included Magnolia Manor of St. Mary’s on our list because of all the places that we looked at, it was the least expensive and money is a factor in our final decision. It was actually nice, and the people were nice. It had a retirement section and an assisted living section, but it looked to us generally like it had an older group of people. It felt more like a nursing home than the kind of retirement community we were looking for. That was disappointing because we had hoped, because of the cost, that we would like it better. It wasn’t that we disliked it. It was a very nice place and the people were nice; it just was an older community. They had a very nice, well-equipped fitness room. They had a list of activities that you would expect to find, like bingo, movies, and things that were a little more sedentary than what we were hoping for. They served us lunch, and we ate separately from the rest of the community. I didn’t understand why they put us in a separate room from the rest of the residents, but the food was good.

We visited Magnolia Manor, the room size was very adequate, and it was the largest that we saw. They also had enough activities for my dad to do, they had transportation for him, and the cost was an excellent advantage compared to the others.

If I could move in at Magnolia Manor soon I would. It was very nice, clean, and it was friendly. The rooms they showed us were very nice. Their dining area appeared nice as well. We weren’t there during meal time, but it seems clean. There was a library. The rooms were nice and they all had a little a door that you could go out into a little common area. It wasn't like you're stuck in a hotel room.

Magnolia Manor is a warm assisted living facility. It houses dozens of residents with a support staff of 20. The residents are provided a number of activities to engage their mind and body and keep them active. Events range from weekly sermons, to seminars on yoga. There is at least one activity per day, with crafts and snacks provided free of charge. Visitors to the site are welcome anytime day or night and it is not a lock-down facility, meaning the residents can come and go at will. The residents have the option of eating in the dining room or in their own room. Medications are administered but it is not a nursing home. It is a facility that allows as much independence as is warranted by their doctor. I suggest this place to anyone looking for a loving support staff and a classy environment. Their support staff is knowledgeable and patient.
