The main thing I liked about Magnolia Manor South was that it was near my family and was really nice. They knew a lot of nice people. They had a lot of amenities, like transportation that would take you shopping. It was near a church and hospital. They had a lot to do. It was really nice and clean. Everybody was friendly. It seemed to be the most convenient and nicest place around. The staff was very informative. They called me up after a month to see if I was ready.

Magnolia Manor South was very nice and clean and pretty in the way it's put together. The people were exceptionally friendly. They seem to have their residents in mind when they talk about things. I was impressed. It was a lot prettier and a lot better than what I expected it to be. They have trips, shopping, a bus, and they all go out to eat occasionally, which I thought was pretty cool. What stood out to me was the beauty of the grounds. It was just gorgeous. The dining area seemed to be nice and pretty.

On my first visit to Magnolia Manor, I arrived on a Sunday morning, June 2011. The outside appearance was quite pleasant, finely manicured lawn with floral blooms and a couple of gazebos for sitting and visiting with the residents.Walking through the residence, I noticed the smell of home cooked meals being prepared in a nearby kitchen. I asked my grandfather several questions about Magnolia Manor, in which I will describe his responses in the following paragraphs.I asked him if he enjoyed the food, in which he replied very much, it tastes almost as good as your grandmother cooked, but they don't give as big of a serving as I would like. I am often hungry here, and no one will give me extra.I took that into consideration before my next visit, bringing him a box of fried chicken, napkins, coffee, and the Sunday paper. He was quite pleased with the paper, not getting it delivered regularly was causing him some distress and the staff didn't see who was taking his.The rooms are spaced far enough apart as to neighbors aren't disturbed by visitors or television audio. He seemed quite happy with the residence up until his last days living. The inside of the establishment was quite clean and the staff seemed to generally care about its residents. I would recommend this facility to another seeking assisted living.
