Cumming Health and Rehab is the one where my grandfather went after he was discharged from the hospital. He was there for seven weeks. It was fine. It was much better than the other place. The staff members were pleasant and helpful. The facilities were good. The cleanliness was good. It was clean. The staff did their job. Food was standard. There's nothing special, just average.

The staff absolutely doesn't care about patients. Rooms are dirty. Food is horrible. Staff are rough and uncaring. That is the good part. My father in law shared a room with another patient and he ended up getting sick. The roommate started choking in the middle of the night. My father in law tried pushing the call button. No one came!!! My father in law, out of desperation called his wife who called the nursing station to alert someone. This place is an absolute poop hole. Whenever I visited my father in law i found him sitting in poop. Asking the staff for anything was too much. When my father in law was transferred, I went to pack up his remaining items, 3 nurses or staff members were standing around talking I had my hands full of things, they ignored me and didn't even offer to hold the door for me. I tell you, out of compassion I would have noticed if someone needed help. It just takes a minimal amount of effort. But at this facility it is too much. Please if you are considering this place for your loved one keep looking. This is not the place for care and compassion. My father in law served our country. He was treated terribly. It is so upsetting. Glad he isn't there anymore.

My mom is here for rehab. The room is fine and most of the staff are great. Food is ok, but they can not get the dietary requests correct. Also, we've paid for her hair to be washed and she has yet to be taken to the salon. She's been there over a month. And, just saw their price increase of $500/day for a private room. Absolutely ridiculous!

Cumming Nursing and Rehab is an exceptional place and that is due to its highly trained and skilled staff. I am a physician and have worked with nurses for the past 25 years. I was really impressed with everyone here. My father was transferred from another rehab in Florida and admitted to the rehab here and the care he received saved his life a couple of times. The nurses are very experienced and pay strong attention to details. Emma was one of the nurses who saved my dad's life when his blood sugar dropped too low. She also saw that his left leg was swollen and a doppler study was done in house that showed a blood clot in his leg. Emma is an exceptional and caring nurse. Omegus, one of the nursing assistants, saved my dad's life on another occasion when his oxygen malfunctioned. Wanda, the activities director, was just wonderful. Denise Brock, a highly skilled nurse, accepted my father into this outstanding facility and I will forever be grateful for her professionalism and follow-up. The entire experience from beginning to end was excellent and I recommend them very highly.

Having done a lot of Hospice volunteering in the past, I can tell you that Cumming Health and Rehab, formerly Cumming Nursing Center, is a very good Nursing Home. My mother is a resident there and I frequently visit the facility and interract with the staff. For one thing, the facility is clean and smells fresh. There is always someone cleaning and tending to the overall care and maintenance matters. Although the building is older and the rooms are small, I feel that the condition and cleanliness makes up for any lack in size or style. There is a significant ratio of staff to resident and when you need to talk to someone you can easily locate them. I have also found the direct care staff to be attentive and interested in my mother and her various needs throughout the day. I have a lot of reason to believe that she is in a good place at this stage in her life and I am at peace with her being a resident at Cumming Health and Rehab.

My mom was in Cumming Manor Personal Care for short term. I think the care and the staff were very nice, but the food was horrible. Nothing tasted good. That was part of the reason we had to get her out of there. The community was very nice. It wasn’t modern, but it was clean, and there were nice common areas for the residents to hang out in. They have outdoor areas where they can sit. They have a screened-in porch. They have a piano and a TV room. They had games for them. They brought people in for music. That part of it was not bad.

Place is old but clean. Food is country style, my Mom doesn't care for much of it, she's picky. Staff very friendly and nice. Had my first family/staff meeting and I was impressed about how much they cared about Mom. OT/PT very experienced, skilled and motivational.
Shocked at their Rudeness

The rudest administrator I have ever run across. Upon entering the facility and asking for a tour hey came over to me and walked me into his office. He never introduced himself or asked who I was, instead he just commanded me to sit down. I asked to have a tour of the facility and the administrator instead started asking me many clinical questions about our family member. I told him I wasn't a doctor nor did I have authority to provide medical info. I just asked to have a quick tour of the facility and he said "well it sounds like she doesn't qualify". I again asked to just have a quick tour and he said everything I would need to know was on their website (which I have yet to find). So again i asked for a tour and he responded "well, let's just say we don't have any beds available". I was shocked and asked again for a tour and he responded with the same statement. If that is the attitude of the people at the top, I am afraid to see how the rest of the staff interacts with patients.

My mom spent 32 days at Cumming Nursing Center for inpatient rehab from hip surgery. The entire staff cared personally for her. I watched them treat every resident as their own mother, father or grandparent. They have a bird sanctuary in the lobby that all love to watch. I brought bird seed for the many feeders outside the windows and the facilities crew immediately filled the feeders for me without me asking. The staff often dance for the residents and make them laugh. Little things like calling bibs "shirt/blouse protectors" instead of bibs to show dignity. The PT, OT, and Sociology team is awesome, personally caring for each resident and being flexible to accommodate personal schedules. Always upbeat, motivational, and encouraging. Thank you team at Cumming Nursing Center! You are the angels among us!

My mother came to live at this facility from another home. This one is so much better. The staff is so good to the residents as they treat them with dignity and respect. The nurses are very good. Every employee there is very friendly and willing to do whatever is necessary to help the patient and they take every request of the family into consideration. I am so happy that they are able to care for my mother since I could not meet her needs by myself any longer. :(

My mother moved there from another local nursing center. This place is great. It is clean and bright. The staff is great. They are genuosly concerned with the residents and want to make life for them better. I highly recommend Cumming Nursing Center. Since coming here, my mother is like a different person.

I am most proud of the fact that this facility has such caring people that grandmother can rely on. Since she has gotten older she does not like to interact with people and even family sometimes. However, she is fully involved with the activities of Cumming Manor. She has her own room and her own bath room. They allowed a lot of freedoms for us to come in and decorate the room to her comfort so that she would transition to assisted living easily. I do not know much about the food and nutritional offerings, but we do have to bring her a Wendy's cheeseburger from time to time because of her cravings. Otherwise, I have never heard her complain about the food. The staff are very accommodating and area always at her beck and call if she needs something. Also, they have a primary care physician on site that works well with her care needs and keeps my family updated on her health weekly.
