My Wife was a resident of The Oaks....She had just had triple bypass and was transferred there for her Rehab....this Facility was The Best! Shelley was a Great Cheer Leader for Ellen and got her through the program in record time...The Rooms were Spotless, The Food was Tasty and always On time....Her Needs were Met and She Loved being there...I felt Confident that she was Cared For....

I am making a complaint , There was not a telephone in my Father's Private Rooms While he was at the Oaks Back in January ,I wanted to Bad to call my father before he passed away , He Said that the Food was Very Lousy , The Staff was fair, What IF your Mother Or Father was in a Private Room and you wanted to talk to one of them before they passed away but there wasn't a Telephone in the room wouldn't you be Very upset ? I would ! My Father passed away there at the OAKS on January 18th 2022 , Sorry For the complaint , That is a nice Place in Baldwin GA . To Improve the OAKS you need Telephones in the Private Rooms , You need some good Cooks there and you need more experienced workers there at the OAKS , The workers Need to be more alert on things , Have Very good House Keeping , The workers need to wear there Mask and wash there hands So They will not get the Covid -19 Virus , IF The patient need anything the nurse or Doctor can go and get it for them So that they'll Be Happy .

He went in for rehab came out with a UTI and low oxygen levels which caused him to have to go to the hospital , 10 days later THE OAKS wanted him to come back for more REHAB , put him in quarantine and he gets out they put him in the room with a COVID patient . They would not send him to the HOSPITAL , then they are telling us he has to go back to THE OAKS to finish rehab , THEY TOLD US HE WAS WALKING THE LENGTH OF A FOOTBALL FIELD , WHEN HE IS REALLY WHEELCHAIR BOUND BECAUSE HE WAS NOT REHAB ANY

We had dad admitted to the oaks, he was always clean and dry..the staff kept me updated on his care..meds..he was happy always there. I know many ask about the patients in hallways, until you get them all up dressed cleaned and fed..you haven't really understood the care level given here..I rather see pop scooted down the hall, than left in bed all day..I rate it 5 stars..great home to live in..

This is a two section facility, one part is an assisted living and the other is a traditional nursing home. In June 2009, my Grandmother was moved to the nursing home sections of The Oaks at Scenic View. She suffered from dementia and was generally in fading health. The is a huge contrast between the two sections. The assisted living area is very modern with bright lights, carpet, paintings, and has a nice airy home like feel. The nursing home section is dark and institutional. There was a very unpleasant feel to the long hallway with people in wheel chairs lining the halls. Most were slumped over asleep, or staring vacantly. This fist impression was startling for us as we escorted my confused Grandmother to her room. As we settled her in to her three person room, we were put at ease by the many staff members who came to welcome my Grandmother. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The were kind and patient with my Grandmother. When she began to loose lung capacity her breathing became shallow, we were notified that unless they but her on an oxygen machine, she would not live much longer. We choose to let her pass and appreciated being able to come in the facility in the middle of the night and stay with her as she died. The staff was very compassionate and helpful with making arrangements to have her body moved. The lower rating is only due to the appearance of the facility and the odor.
