Pretty place but that's it

The rooms are good views aren't, the staff are nice but seem stressed, the food I had was not as good as it had been. I've seen inhabitants looking needy for aid but no aids around. The inside of the place is very pretty, but that's it. There is no pool or balconies. They have a nice courtyard but if you are in a wheel chair you can't get to the courtyard as the doors to access are handle pull out (there is no electric automatic door opener)...so it's kind of a tease for residents who would lik...

The Blake at Hamlin is a fairly new facility. Everything was new and clean. The rooms were nice. You provide your own furniture. The director was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Overall, The Blake at Hamlin was good, and we were considering it. The part I would give them lower points on was the fact that they assumed that they could take my mother, and then after a few discussions with several different people, in the end, they called us and said they couldn't take my mother, so that was very discouraging. I would not recommend The Blake at Hamlin. From what we saw, the environment looked very sterile. The memory care side looked more like an institution, not a home. The person that was supposed to give us the tour was not there that day, so somebody else gave it. She was very frantic and just talking to all the staff as she was giving us the tour, but she was very nice. It wasn't a good experience at all, but this is all on the memory care side.
