I heard good things about Sunnyside Village so I worked very hard to get my mother into rehab, which puts her at the top of the list for an apartment there after rehab. They have excellent care, and very nice facilities, and the nurses are very nice. They offer bingo, they do some outdoor activities, they bring in musicians, for St. Patrick's Day they had shamrock shakes, and other good activities. It's a brand new building and the facilities are beautiful. You get your money's worth.

My tour of Sunnyside Village was fine. It's a religious community. The rooms are a lot smaller. It also has apartment buildings. The apartment buildings are absolutely gorgeous. The people were friendly enough, it is a religious community. It's very conservative. I wasn't impressed favorably. With regards to activities, they have someone come in and play the piano or entertain them sometimes. It's a nice place. They have a very nice chapel. You don't have to go to it if you don't want to. The grounds are beautiful. They have private homes like villas there for the people who want to be completely independent. It just didn't impress me as much as the other places. I had a meal there and it was good. It's really clean and the people seemed friendly.

Moved here from my house into a villa and have not regretted my decision to chose Sunnyside Village for a moment. There are numerous formats and sizes of homes, from villas to smaller or larger apartments, and houses with attached garages. I was drawn by the large property, beautiful walkways with lovely landscaping and huge old trees. Also the consistently excellent quality of the food served graciously by great dining room and kitchen staff. We have a gorgeous chapel inviting meditation and prayer. The pervading sense of fellowship and kindness in this Christian Community can be felt immediately; it literally embraces one from the first day. There are activities galore for any interests, from cards to physical therapy to exercises, literary and musical clubs and outlets, outings for sports, musical and other cultural events, excursions; our monthly calendar is filled with a huge variety of activities. And, not to gild the lily ,excellent maintenance and when needed emergency service. The independent living facility is next to our assisted living, nursing and memory care facilities. To top off all of this, I based my move also on a spreadsheet which detailed my expenses before and after the move, and found that I out ahead financially after the move.

My mother had an excellent experience at Sunnyside Village with very caring and attentive staff and superior rehab opportunities. It was covered by Medicare and Blue Cross Blue Shield supplement, so it was an excellent value. It had been constructed in the last three years. It had a coastal decor with beautiful artwork and community areas, as well as beautifully furnished private rooms. They were all single private rooms with high ceilings, large windows, and views. The physical therapy was more than a 5 star rating. My mother is stronger after this rehab experience than she was two years ago.

Cheerful and skilled management, nursing and rehab staff obtained top results for my father, a 94 year old with dementia who had broken his hip. Sunnyside Village maintains open lines of communication, both invaluable and comforting during this pandemic. Patient dignity is VERY important at this facility. I highly recommend Sunnyside Village, located at Bahia Vista Street in Sarasota, FL

Sunnyside Nursing Home is clean, Christian-based, and caring. I think they do a good job with my mother helping her with cognitive abilities. Her mind is a little faded, and they're helping her with that as well. They do an overall good job. They serve three meals a day and have a doctor on-staff taking care of my mother. If and when she leaves there, she'll have to go back to her regular doctor. It is a little older than some other homes, but they have all the amenities that one would want, like proper beds, TVs, bathrooms, and all the facilities. I can't see anything wrong.
