We spent for 14 months at Lakehouse West. The stay was just fine, but the cost was difficult for us. We stayed in the independent living, the rooms were very fine, and I could only say positive things about it. However, you had to purchase the apartment you lived in, and you had a monthly fee there. The grounds were beautiful, and it was next to a lake. The staff was incredible.

We found Lakehouse West for my mom. She hasn't moved in yet, but up until now, they have been wonderful helping with the move and helping renovate the apartment. They have been excellent so far. The apartment is nice sized, and it has a beautiful lake view. It should be perfect for what she's looking for. I like the facility, I like how clean it was, and I like the fact that the price was reasonable. I'm not sure how extensive their amenities are with the Covid, but they have a movie theater, a salon, a poker room, a heated pool, and a library. They pretty much have everything. The staff was wonderful. It's an older building, but it's very nice.

Lakehouse West's appearance was nice, and the apartments were very nice. The people were very nice as well. They have quite a social life, and when we were there, they were getting ready to have Happy Hour. The cafeteria was very nice.

Lakehouse West had a very good environment, but they make you dress for dinner, which is very irritating. It had wonderful landscaping, a natural lake, and terrific views. It had great food including one of the best veggies I've ever had, and interesting, inventive cuisines. They had buses to go to the opera and a good list of activities. They sign birthday cards to each other every month. We are on their waiting list.

My mom is currently at Lake House West in their independent living community. It’s a very beautiful place. My mother’s room has a beautiful view of the lake. The residents have to dress up a little bit to go down to their dining room. The food is excellent thanks to a fabulous chef. They have vehicles that take you shopping or to your doctors' appointment. They have a doctor that comes to the residents for less money. They have different activities, like art class, bingo, cocktail nights, concerts, and derby day. My mother participates on and off.

I’ve checked out Lakehouse West. Their assisted and independent-living are separate units so if you need to go from one to the other, you get up and move out. Their coordinator and intake person was very helpful, and she keeps in contact with me. It’s a beautiful facility. When you move in, they update your apartment, but it’s a buy-in community starting upwards from $90,000 to $200,000 for a unit. You don’t have the ownership of the house. They belong to the corporation, so you have no tax advantages. You’re paying rent but even though there are administration and maintenance fees, you get nothing back. After a certain amount of time, you get a percentage back of your buy-in, but I’m not interested in that. They have a pool, an exercise room, an activity room, and they have their clubhouse specials. They have once-a-week shopping trips. They always have something going on.

My visit to Lakehouse West was very good. The rooms, the staff, and the food were very good. There are some things that I expected them to have, but they didn't.

We went to visit the Lakehouse West assisted living facility since we were already in the region, looking at places for my friend's mother to live. The outside grounds were colorful, well designed and pleasant, with plenty of nice seating areas. The interior foyer looked like that of a nice motel, but with more space. We could see that the facility offers plenty of amenities - like social enrichment activities in and around the community. The private housing options were all lovely and looked like they had been personalized to the tastes of each resident. The restaurant style dining had many delicious menu choices. The lunch we saw was like you might find in an upscale diner. They also had a private dining room for friends and family to enjoy and visit in. The staff takes residents on weekly outings for shopping and entertainment to enjoy all sorts of activities, from nature walks to cultural events. The exercise room was nicely designed with good equipment and they also offer regular classes such as yoga, aerobics, dance and others. Every resident we saw appeared to be very well cared for in a peaceful, yet fun environment by kind and attentive staff.
