Mom moved to Springs At Boca Ciega Bay. It's very nice and clean. They do a good job. Their rooms are pretty big and we're happy with the staff. They're helpful and caring. Mom gets her meals in her room by choice, but the meals are fine. We've chosen them because of the cost and location. It's a very nice community, and it's convenient for us.

KEEP YOUR LOVED ONES OUT OF THIS PLACE!!! My grandmother was admitted here status post being hospitalized for weakness. She went in being able to ambulate with assistance and weighing 110lbs. (unfortunately her family is in NY so we were only able to go down every few months)... but being that this was a rehab we were trusting the staff would do what they were supposed to and get her stronger. It got to the point where they said they cant walk her do to her being "a fall risk". She got weaker and they put her in the long term care section. My parents got to her due to us pulling her out and sending her to a different place due to her decline and her complaints that the staff and food was horrible. Upon their arrival my grandmother is 80lbs and can not lift her head. She was starved and severely malnourished. How does one lose 30lbs in a little less than 3 months at a facility meant to take care of you.

My mother was there and started out in rehab. The physical therapy department was awful and didn't excel in making residents better. Actually my mother went into their long term care area and got worse with lack of continuous walking and they kept from maintaining due to being a fall risk. Eventually ended up becoming weaker and weaker, to the point of being unable to walk again. Episode of catching nurse taking her pain pills and nothing done. Aids were lazy and talking a lot amongst themselves and on cell phones. Nursing wasn't following thru with care and had lots of burn out symptoms.

Do not send your loved one here. The care in this facility has gone straight downhill sine the departure of the last Director about 2-3 years ago. Staff turnover seems to be weekly. Resident meals are horrible. If you truly love them, keep them far away from The Springs.

Please do not send a loved one here. Very understaffed, and the staff they do have in some of the worst I've seen. They do not care at all about the well-being of the patient, which is so sad because rehab can be very hard. I had to pull my father out and send him to another facility because the medical care was so bad. Good luck getting your call button answered! He almost died there due to lack of medical care. The food is terrible, not fit for human consumption. The rooms are old. All of that could be tolerated if the care was good. Please do yourself a favor and choose another rehab center, there are plenty out there that are better facilities.

My husband was at The Springs for a month. The staff was fine. The physical therapy department was the best around. I would recommend it; it’s an OK place. There was as much activity there as you wanted to do. There is some excellent staff, and there are not so excellent ones, but it averages out to be good.
