I’ve waited over 2 weeks to hear if my mother was accepted (and still no call back) when it was supposed to take a couple days… I was told “did I check out other places” - and then when I emailed the head of the facility I got no response. So disappointed that a place that is supposed to serve our most neediest population could care to even call back with an updated or answer.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Due to over reaction to COVID or lack of staffing we are not able to visit my husband who has a broken leg. He was admitted Saturday night late, and we were not able to see him on Sunday, advised that we could see him on Monday after being “ oriented “. It is Monday and no contact with the appointment assignment..phone message informs that visits are only on Mon. Wed. Fri, Sat Sun, make ahead., same day visits not permitted. ..at this rate we wont see him till Wednesday....!! Also He reported this morning that the overhead light was used late Sunday and left on all night despite him and roommate using their nurse alert devices. And we were given to understand that this is well run facility. Rough beginnings.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has moved into BayView. It is going very well. I'm very happy with the care that she is getting there. They have lots of activities for her. They have field trips, trips to Wal-Mart, music, and entertainment. I'm very happy with what they offer. I'm very happy with the staff members, too. They seem to care about her and take very good care of her. Nevertheless, my mother has to be encouraged to take part in activities, so they need to be more aggressive and more insistent that she takes part in the activities.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I have watched this facility lose the scope of it's purpose and that is to maintain a clean and happy place for our families. Maybe they think they are doing just that but honestly that's far from the truth. In the last year, turnover of staff is high. The best of the best are gone. Why, the Administration of the facility is poor. A family member can walk in and they know who you are but in my case the Administrator has never acknowledge me. This does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling and if they treat me that way how is my family member being treated. Some are treated better than others. Replacing the best of the staff has resulted in hiring younger less experienced people who can't find their way to the kitchen if something is requested by the residents. I fear that if an emergency comes up these young staff members will have no clue what to do or not to do. This is frightening to me. I could go on but there is so much frustration that I can't express all of my concerns in limited space. One more thing, medications - you never know who your med tech is going to be. Beware of possible mistakes.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My friend is staying at the Pavilion. They are very caring, and they do everything they said that they would do. They take charge of cleaning her room and washing her clothes, they have games and stuff, and they have people come in and entertain them, so it is great, and she is very happy there. The grounds are beautiful. She can walk out near the river where it is very pretty and very quiet. They have exercise, and then they bake cookies, and they have little things that they do every day to keep them interested. They take them to Walmart once a week and supply someone to take them if they had to go to the doctor.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

We like the location of the Pavilion because it is near the water, which is very important to my sister. I like the outdoor spaces because it is close to nature and has a natural environment. The people are very friendly. The room is adequate for her, and my sister says the food is satisfactory

Friend or relative of resident

The Pavilion at Bayview, adjacent to the Bayview Nursing Home, is a wonderful facility. The staff, in addition to being courteous and friendly (which should be in their job description) also seem to genuinely care for each and every resident. I've never been greeted with anything less than a warm smile and a friendly face. The apartment my grandparents share is a three-room affair with a small kitchenette/dining room, a sitting room, and a bedroom. The bathroom is quite spacious and easily accessible. Outside the facility is a pool - around which the staff sometimes organizes events for residents and families. There's a wonderful view of the Intracoastal and Anastasia Island. There's also a spacious lounge and an activities area (complete with varous classes and fitness opportunities). There is also easy access to the Nursing Home in the adjacent building. Meals are served in the dining room and, while I've never eaten lunch or dinner there, breakfasts are fantastic. Both my grandparents seem genuinely happy with the facilities at the Pavilion at Bayview; and it is always a treat to visit them.
