I moved my mom to Wickshire Port St. Lucie in October. So far, it's been wonderful. The place is very clean. The residents are always clean. I think there are over 25 residents for memory care and there are only a handful that is bound to their wheelchairs. Everybody else is up and about. They're very caring people over there. They take time with the residents to make sure they're involved with activities. The memory director is wonderful. They've all been wonderful with my mom and the other residents that are there. They've been phenomenal. They know who I am when I come in there. They talk to me and keep me posted on what's going on with my mother. They make sure that she's getting a shower at least 2 to 3 days a week. They're making sure that she's clean, she's eating, and she has her meds. Everything that she needs, they're able to satisfy those needs. Her room is spacious. She has room in there to have a queen size bed. I was able to bring her stuff in, so she has a queen size bed, a dresser, a table, and a TV, and she still has a room. The closet is a decent size for memory care. I'm normally there about dinnertime, so I do get to see the food that comes on over to memory care from assisted living. They have two chefs on staff that do their meals of the day and then they have their everyday items. So far, everything's been fine. They do bingo. They will bring some of the residents upstairs to the assisted living side when certain events are going on. They do movie night or movie day. They do ice cream socials. They decorated cookies during the holidays. They have a lot of things that go on. There are at least 3 activities set a day for them. They will take my mom and her friend there outside for a walk around the building so they could see a different view. I'm very impressed with how clean it is. There's maintenance on site. So, if there's ever an issue with the room like if there's an outlet issue, you just put in a work order with the front desk, and then it gets taken care of in a timely manner. The linens are always clean because they do linens for all three meals. They have place settings that are set up for the residents when they eat their dinner, so they're not just eating on a wooden table. They do housekeeping weekly. They go in, dust, mop, sweep the floor, and clean the bathroom.

I toured Wickshire Port St. Lucie. They were very friendly. The lady was very knowledgeable. My mom likes to do beads, and they do that at least once a month there. They have a beauty salon and encourage the families to come and go there with the members and have their hair done there. They have a nice dining area, and encourage the families to come and have meals there with them. It's set up like a restaurant, so they have a set menu, but they also have specials every day.

I toured Wickshire Port St. Lucie. The staff was excellent. It seemed homier. They gave a military discount, which was good. They also offered a shared room, so that was good. The dining area was too enclosed. You don't see the outdoors. It's an older facility. They had an outdoor area and a beauty salon. They intermingle assisted living and memory care, so the activities of assisted living were more open to memory care.

My friend has moved into Wickshire Port St. Lucie. It's very clean and very homey. It's two floors, and there's an elevator. The staff seems to be attentive, and they take a personal interest in the resident. The meals are great. I just looked at what they were eating, and it was well done. They do things like bingo, trivia, and arts. They have a whole library.

My mom moved into Wickshire Port St. Lucie last month. Everybody was saying good things about it, and I talked to a couple of the tenants, and they were happy. Everybody seems really, really good especially the head guy, Glen. All the administrators seemed good, and I only got to meet one guy that worked there, and that was on the day we moved her in. His grandma and his aunt both stayed there. Mom's not happy with the food. There are about eight things every day that they can do, some are repeated, some are once a week, but it was more than enough to do, activity wise.

Goodness, where do I begin? My dearest friend and mentor, lived at Horizon Bay/ Brookdale/Atria.The name changed, but the management, location and staff ALL stayed virtually unchanged for the whole period. That alone tells you something. The management, nurses, caregivers, dining, maintenance, contractors. everybody was great.1 year on the assisted living side and 3 years on the "Life Guidance" (memory care) side.Life Guidance side really shined, every single person was great 'til her last days. I went to Atria Port St. Lucie. It seemed like a nice, caring community. I saw some exercise during my visit. They said that if someone was in memory care and needed more help, the price could go up from $200 to $700 per month. They gave me a flat fee, but then they said if the person needed 2 people to help him out of the chair, then the price could go up, and I didn't like that.

I wasn't happy at all with Atria Port St. Lucie memory care. My husband was a new intake and he fell the first night he was there, and that started a big mess. He didn't break anything, but he went to the hospital. They wanted to do physical therapy and I told them no because my husband has bone cancer so that's not going to help. They transferred him to hospice and he died three days later. They were very professional and the place was beautiful, but they were money-hungry. They made me pay for April 30th and all of May. June was supposed to be free, but the first week of June, they started calling me saying I need to get the furniture out of there. I told them, "Work with me here. He just died, and I have to make arrangements." Its a beautiful place, but I think they have personal problems there. I don't know if I'd recommend them. My husband was there only one night and they're not working with me. It was traumatic. After the initial woman who helped me quit, I went up there to arrange to have furniture delivered, and nobody was available to talk to me except the head chef. He came out and the thing they wear to prepare food was just filthy and instead of white, it was gray.

Atria Port St. Lucie is excellent. The rooms were nice, but a little bit small and didn't have much storage. The community was very nice, and the people were also very nice. There were people in the game room playing games, people doing laundry, and people in the dining room. They had a lot of activities. They gave us a raspberry scone when we left, and it was excellent. It was a very nice place.

Atria Port St. Lucie was a great place and I enjoyed it. Barbara knew everybody by name and they knew her. She was really a dynamo personality. They offer a lot so it was a nice visit. The facility was lovely.

This facility was very nice and the woman ho took us on the tour was very informative. The facility was clean well kept. The negatives, if you could call them that, were that the activity areas seemed limited to basic library, puzzle room, game room, TV. I don't recall an area for ping pong, billiards, shuffle board...activities that require movement. I did not see any smiling residents and seeing as this was a day that they were celebrating the holidays, I though I would see move activity and interaction with and by residents.

Horizon Bay Port St. Lucie is very nice. The people are very friendly, and the staff is excellent. We’ve got a 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment, and it is a good size with good-sized closets. The location is OK. It is nice and clean inside, and outside they do a little more flowers or things, but they do really keep it good. The food is pretty good. I’ve got a husband who was a cook, and it is not the same, but with what they got, it looks good and no complaints. If you can’t come downstairs or if something happens that you are not feeling well, they’ll bring your meals up to you.

I visited Horizon Bay Port St. Lucie, and the place was beautiful. I saw that they have a few things going on. They have a musical thing, craft sessions. The people seemed very happy with what was going on, and I was really impressed with them. I talked to the staff that took me around, and she was absolutely fantastic.

My friend is staying at Horizon Bay. I have been there many times. The people that works there are great. They have a great staff. They are very helpful. They assist her with anything that she needs. This is all assisted living, and they do have a nursing staff that is there if there is anything that happens, but there is always an extra charge; you should expect that. It is nice and clean. The meals are very good, very nutritious and presented well. You can always have the food that you want. They have fresh coffee there. It was very nice.

We went to Horizon Bay, and I really liked that one. The staff was extremely nice. They had the assisted-living side, and then they had the memory-care side. They had a lot of activities. The place was very nice. They had kind of like a hospital room. They had private and then semi-private. The lady that I spoke with there was really nice. I liked all the activities that they had. The staff was all friendly. It was clean. They had a lot of whole day activities.

The sales person at Horizon Bay was extremely friendly and very connected to me, and in some ways I felt like she and the director really believed in their program. As I was walking through, the dining room looked great, the food looked good; it was in small portions and was well presented. I liked how the person serving food helped a resident who was lost. I liked the activity room, the class room, and physical therapy. The rooms seemed smaller and looked outdated, but they are refurbishing. The residents seemed to be enjoying themselves and wee relaxed. I don’t really see people participating in activities too much, and I’m curious if there will be enough to stimulate my mother.

We liked Horizon Bay Port St. Lucie, and they are very courteous and very caring. She calls me every couple of weeks to see how things are going. We really like it. The woman that we spoke at Horizon Bay Port St. Lucie was very helpful with we should and shouldn’t do. We also met with the chef, and I appreciated the way they serve different food. Everything looks very, very clean, and I was very impressed. The rooms were of very nice and good size. Everything seemed very fresh and clean. They did explain some activities to us, but my in-laws are not very outgoing.

I went to Horizon Bay which is a Brookdale community in Port St. Lucie. It was by far the nicest, and it was like five stars. It was very nice. I spoke with the director who is a real nice guy. He spent a lot of time with me answering all of my questions. The place inside was immaculate. The problem I have is that I'm not exactly sure whether my parents from Ohio will come down here or not. When my father got sick, I started looking down here to see what was available. I looked at three or four different places, and they were all nice, but Horizon Bay was by far the nicest. The rooms were nice inside. They were clean and looked like they were freshly painted. The bathrooms were nice. It was handicapped friendly and easy to get in and get out. It was a very nice facility. The rooms were nice because some of them were connected with another room, and some of them were just single rooms. Some of them were studio, while some were one-bedroom and some two-bedrooms. They have a variety of different kind of rooms. They have several different activities like people coming in to sing and bingo, and they take them on field trips.

The lady that I talked to at Horizon Bay was very nice, very accommodating, and answered all of my questions. The rooms were very similar to the other one I liked. Again, because it was lunchtime, they gave me a little box of brownies or something, and it was very good. I had no complaints. Walking through the hall, everything looked clean and neat. However, I couldn't tell you what the rest of the sanitation looked like. I saw people walking around, and they seemed very friendly, but as far as what they actually did or do, I do not have any clue.

We sent my mother to Horizon Bay because of the price and size of the rooms. They were in the middle of the road as far as price and the rooms were well organized. It was a relatively small place and the staff was great.

My mother is in Horizon Bay. It is clean, and it is well taken care of. The staff is very good and very caring. How the staff cares for my mother really stands out. Her room is a two-bedroom with the right kind of a shower where she can sit on a chair and hold a railing. It has a closet line. She thinks the food is really good. They have a lot of arts and crafts. They keep them busy.

Horizon Bay was a nice place, but still I don't think it was quite what my father would want. The rooms were much better; however, I still found the room to be too small. I just know my father wouldn't be happy there. It was nice that they had a lot more care available and stuff for the people there, but I just think it would be a step down in lifestyle from him, and we're moving him from a very big house in a country club setting. I just know that he wouldn't like it. However, I thought people there would get good care.

Some rooms are small, like 600 sq. feet for a living room with a bedroom and a kitchen all cramped in there. They're always neat and clean. They had us for lunch. It was very good.

Me and my sister visited Horizon Bay - Port St. Lucie. I would consider this facility if had it not been far from my mom's doctors. They have studios with various sizes. They involve the residents in various activities, like they have a theme for the month and the residents can contribute their own items to go with the theme.

Our mother has been in the Memory Care facility at Horizon Bay in Port St. Lucie for a little over 6 weeks now and we are truly blessed to have found such a wonderful and caring environment for her. The caregivers are true professionals and are so very kind to the residents and are able to deal with all types and levels of dementia. The rooms are well maintained and the personal attention to detail for each person and their daily needs and environment is wonderful. We are very comfortable having Mom share her life with all of these caring professionals. The nursing staff is well trained , there are plenty of fun activities to keep her active and she loves the meals and the new friends she is making. The entire staff has gone out of its way to make Mom's transition as easy as possible. For loving and dignified care with respect for the person in a calm and pleasant environment, we could not recommend any place better than Horizon Bay in Port St. Lucie.

Horizon Bay wasn't quite as "fancy" but it was fine. The other ones seemed like multiple story buildings and kind of like a hotel. Horizon Bay was all ground floors and a little bit smaller facility, but it was very pleasant. You can even have a small pet with you there. The dining area seemed fine and they did offer good meal choices. The rooms were set up similarly to the other facilities, and they were just in a single-story structure but they were nice. The staff seemed very open and friendly to have people visit the facility. I like that about them. I don't think I would have any problem with my mom staying in this type of facility.

Horizon Bay was expensive, but it's a very nice facility. It was well appointed and had very pretty landscaping. It just seemed very luxurious. The staff there was a little busier. It took them a little longer to get to you, but they were still very polite and very nice. They had games, movie nights, and pizza nights. They had field trips, bingo, and areas for advanced people to play.

I am satisfied with everything about Horizon Bay. The staff are very pleasant and they do their work the way they're supposed to. My mother seems to be happy there. The rooms are very nice, too. It's just 10 minutes from where I live. The only complaint we have is that the smoking area is not being enforced. My whole family are non-smokers, and they have a front porch that you walk through to go for the front door. There's just a few handful of residents there who are smoking, but they sit at the front door and smoke all the time although they're supposed to be down at the end. They could also improve a little more on the organization like with the schedule of showers. They can't quite get it straightened.

I moved into Horizon Bay but I don't like it. When I saw this place, it seemed nice but I didn't see that everything was wrong until I got here. The place is pretty clean and the residents are very nice but the food stinks. I have food in my apartment; I have to get my own because I can't eat their food. Their food is just all blended together and it's just horrible. I'm not the only one who doesn't like the food. I've complained about this to the management but they don't do anything about anything. They don't mind the food. I won't recommend this to other people. They won't tell the people who come here too look. They keep them away from the residents. The residents never get to meet the prospective clients. They tell them whatever kind of stuff they tell them, they just find about out about it later. The prospective clients need to mingle and speak with the residents.

I found this facility to not treat the elderly as they should be treated. You would see multiple paitients who obviously needed assistiance who would not be given any help, workers let them go days without taking baths (those who needed sponge baths) at the time when my grandmother knew what she was doing, before she got demensia, she would tell me that they treated her fine, just needed some more care.

The Staff are great and friendly. Food was pretty decent, not as many amenities as I thought there would be, but I suppose I was thinking of like a boys and girls club rather than a assisted living facility. All and All it was a pretty decent place when you walk in it is very clean set up very nice tons of plants and other homie feeling articles rather than blank hallways and boring rooms.
