My husband stayed in The Harrison of Stuart, and the best thing about them was that even though we only lived there a week, everybody knew him, knew his name, knew his situation, and helped us through everything. The staff was very caring. Their food was good, but by that time my husband was only eating pureed food, and I thought it was too salty for the elderly. I don't know, but that was just me. Their facility was gorgeous. It's a little more expensive than the other facility but it's still worth it. They were more attentive to their patients in memory care, and they didn't just shove them in front of a television, and have them sitting there staring into space. They worked with them and played games as much as they could with them.

The walkthrough showed the best the faciality has to offer and the team promised the best experience imaginable. When we moved my father in (we live 1,000 miles away), it was OK initially but as his health declined, anything we asked for came with a price which continually went up. He was left in his room other than meals and we eventually had to hire a full time nurse to stay with him due to several incidents where he fell and laid there for hours until someone come in. When he passed away we were given o time to get down and move his possessions out before being charged for the room. If you want a cruise-ship experience and can make use of the offerings, this place is not bad but if you need help, expect to pay for less than optimal service that will leave you questioning your decision to stay here.

My husband moved in. It's a beautiful place and the people there are attentive. If you have any problems they get on it right away and then make sure that solves anything that goes on. It's a separate unit. It's memory care, a really big unit, and it has a lot of nice things in there. The girls there are nice. Everybody that works there is great. The food is wonderful. They do get people up in the morning, then they do projects with them or they do projects with the painting. They have a beautiful courtyard out there that they can go out and walk around. They have movies for them, people come in and sing with them, and they have an activities director who leads them. My husband has a whole room for himself with a bathroom attached. Then that's it. We have to supply everything else. They don't supply anything. It's just like you moved into a loft. They don't supply stuff. You have to bring whatever you need for your husband or your patient.
