I visited this facility

I visited Vintage Care Senior Living. They provide assistance at an additional cost. They have a lot of staff and three meals a day. I like it partly because it's near my son, I can afford it, and they have backup generators for when the electricity goes off. I wouldn't have to evacuate. They have a lot of activities, and they have an activities director. There's shopping real close, grocery, and all that stuff. They provide transportation and they have lots of medical facilities. There's a hospital right nearby. The rooms are like studios, but they're big and they have step-in showers. It's well-staffed. They have plenty of people and there is somebody there 24/7. They have a nice garden. I was just disappointed that they say they have physical therapy, but it's an exercise room that has a bike in it, and that's about it.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I chose Vintage Care Senior Living because there's not much choice here. I think, as far as I know, it's the only place that's assisted living. I'm on the second floor and I have a nice room. I think it's like 12 by 18 or 14 by 18, something like that. It's a studio-type apartment. It's very nice and very pleasant. The food's good and the personnel is friendly and helpful. They have bingo, morning walks after breakfast, they play cards on a few days, they have a chair exercise program set up twice a day, and just a lot of basic things they have in assisted living. They have quite a few activities throughout the day, every day. Everything's nice and clean. The price is very reasonable.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Like you, I read many reviews prior to deciding on a facility. They were so helpful to me. And I hope this one is as well. My mother was there for about two years. I visited her 2-3 times per week. I selected the facility because of the sweet staff. And because they seem to always know where my mom was and love her. I have learned that visiting is the key to your peace of mind as well as theirs. Sadly, many residents never have a visitor. I also learned that no nursing homes are perfect. But some are better than others. It starts with the administration. If it’s a positive place to work, that shows in staff morale. If not then that shows too. My reason for the rating is lack of proper supervision. My mother was in memory care and walking a lot. Hence she was vulnerable. This is just not ideal place for residents who have dementia because they are at risk of getting out. Which my mother did. Thank you allowing me this review.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Vintage Care in Palatka, FL is consistently a wonderful assisted living facility, as witnessed by my family over the last seven years. Each time my wife, our daughter, and myself visit, our (now 100 year old) surrogate mother Mrs. Mary B., Vintage Care makes our visits most pleasurable. Recently, at New Year's 2022/2023 week, we enjoyed and appreciated the delicious meal Chef David Williams and his very nice kitchen staff prepared and presented to our mom Mary, Marilyn, Teresa, Marge, and my family. Such friendly and polite staff, which definitely includes Donna welcoming us at the front desk and taking the attached photo. I can say that Vintage Care is a clean well kept facility that is dressed in holiday spirit year after year. It's staff, from the health care workers to the maintenance man who jokes with Mary, always have smiles. Our visits with Mary are consistently happy and heart warming, and for that we are grateful. Sincerely, the Marty E. family

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has moved in. So far, so good. She's liking it and I'm liking it. It's very bright and cheerful and the people are very nice. We're very happy so far. The staff is fantastic. They've been wonderful. Her apartment is nice, bright, and cheerful. I brought her furniture from home, so she's really happy here. They have an area for people to get physical therapy. Everything seems nice here. The people are very sweet and mom seems pretty happy. Periodically, there are little glitches here and there. Her button battery had a problem, so we got a new one and they took care of it. Everything seems fine. So far, she's liking the food. They have the option. If she doesn't like a particular thing that they're cooking for that day, she can always order something different. She's not doing anything at this point. She's still in a wheelchair, but she did bingo. She has the option of doing other things, she just can't at the moment. The nurses are very sweet and very kind to her. I checked quite a few, but this one was the most reasonable, and to me, it was the nicest.

I visited this facility

It was a wonderful place. I love it. It is beautiful, clean, friendly, and there were lots of staff. Their menu looked wonderful too. Residents can have private or semi-private rooms and they were all decorated like a nice hotel room. It's fabulous and I wished I knew about it two years ago.

I visited this facility

It was very nice. The tour experience was very nice. The staff was very friendly. The building itself smelled very clean and fresh. The residents seemed to be taken care of. It was still kind of a lockdown, so the dining room wasn't fixed 100%, and it took someone about ten minutes to get to the inside common area to greet us, but other than that, I thought it was a very nice experience. They had a working elevator, and everything is numbered and signed where you are coming and going. For seniors, I think the staff is very personal in care, but it is in a town I live in, so it is very close to home to me.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father moved in and it's close to me. The rooms are good, it's large, they do his housekeeping, and his laundry, but that's all. The food is delivered to the room because of the virus. He goes to exercise one hour a day every day, he goes to do the social hour, and he goes to the happy hour. They have a person who cuts their hair, so he had a haircut, and they also have a person that comes and cuts their toenails and fingernails; they did his.
