Amberlake Assisted Living was pretty clean and very comfortable. The lady, her name is Wanda, she was very nice, and she explained everything to us. The place was clean and organized. The residents were eating. They were very nice. The only thing is that we were looking for a residential home and not a big facility. We didn't spend time in their room because it's not going to be for us. The surrounding was clean. I didn't like that it is in a busy street, so that was one of the things I noticed. But the place was clean, and it smelled good and everything. We didnt find any complaints. Everybody was eating and talking in the dining area. It was good, it was large, and it was organized. I noticed people were socially distancing. From the outside, I like that the building was locked, so nobody can go inside without authorization, so you have to come in through doors. The front yard was well kept, it had some flowers and stuff like that, so it was clean. They have a garden, it is not big, but they have a garden. The staff was very nice and she explained a lot of things. She tried to find another place for us when she noticed that we weren't interested in that one.

The staff at Amberlake Assisted Living was nice and knowledgeable. They're still very good; but I got the impression that overall, they may be a bit understaffed. It's a small facility. It seemed like a little bit older building. The rooms were smaller. They didn't have semiprivate rooms. It was good, but the distance from my daughter would be like a 30 to 40 minute drive. It's not a very large fenced-in area, but the residents are allowed out there at certain times. There are tables out there, and you can sit with family. They will provide three meals a day.

This facility, is by far, the cleanest facility that I have ever toured. It has been completely renovated and under new management. Rooms are very nice, they offer shared and private at a very good price. Staff very friendly and seemed to be very caring with all. Menu looked very good they offer three meals per day and a snack. They have an awesome piano player they call the Piano Man. Activities Coordinator is friendly and seems to keep the place busy with fun things to do. I would and will be very happy with this place caring for my mother.

Amber Lake was nice, clean, and very friendly, but they didn't have a room available at that time. The lady that took me on a tour explained everything. They also showed me the menu. They also accommodate special diets. The place was quite small. They didn't have many private rooms. Activity was limited, but they did have somebody come in and entertain the group. They played some games, but it seemed like a lot of the people was not very mobile. The staff was bubbly and very helpful. They also had their own chef. The place was well kept but not spacious by any means. There was a small pond, though.

The rooms at Amber Lake Assisted Living Facility were a little smaller than I would have liked. There wasn't any activity going on in the activity room, and I really didn't see any active people. They were pretty much in wheelchairs, sitting around the tables, and weren't even communicating. The kitchen was clean and neat, and the menu looked alright. One staff does exercises with the residents and I met with the manager and the owner. Everything seemed clean and orderly.

My mother was in Amber Lake. Sometimes, they would just pass by, open the door, and say that it was lunch or dinner time. I think that she probably lost her dinner or lunch many times. The staff was very good, but the residents needed some kind of alert. Her room was not brand new, but it was OK. The food was OK, and they served three meals a day. I think there should have been snacks in-between. They had bingo, but nobody insisted too much that they should do it. There were exercises, but they didn’t have somebody to direct the residents. For some who were still alert and know what they want, it was not a bad place, but the food could be a little better.

The only thing that I noticed at Amber Lake was there were too many people, but less employees. I don’t think they can do their job well. It’s very nice, beautiful, and everything looks perfect. My husband has dementia, needs more assistance, and companion. He is not very deep dementia, but he needs more attention. He has to go to their dining to pay the breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The only thing for me is the time that the caregivers with each one. The atmosphere looks fine, and everything is clean. The environment, and the facility are in good shape. It looked nice, but for me they need more employees.
