My mother lives in Sunrise of Jacksonville, and it's been pretty good. The staff is very friendly, very nice, and we like the care she's getting there. Her room is not that big, but it's livable. She said the food is on par with the other places, there seems to be a lot of activities, but she's only participated in bingo. The facility is nice and clean, it's very hot all the time, probably for elderly people that's fine, but for me when I walk in the place, I feel it's always hot, and I can't stay very long. It was older than the other place she stayed.

I went to look at Sunrise of Jacksonville. They only had one-bedroom apartments, and my mom needed two bedrooms. I like that it wasn't too big. The community was convenient for me. I like the price of it because it's not too big. The staff members were all very nice and professional. The facility was very clean. The atmosphere was calm, inviting, and pleasant. The dining area was nice. It was set up like a restaurant, with tablecloths and wrapped napkins.

I liked Sunrise of Jacksonville. I liked the openness of it. The place was very clean and it didn't smell like a nursing home or a hospital. It was very pleasant and everything was tiptop, as far as I could see. The rooms were good-sized, and the bathrooms were large with walk-in showers. I liked the dining situation and they had a room that you could get by yourself if you had a party for your father or mother. Everybody there was just super friendly. I've spoken to a couple of residents there and they were super nice. The one thing that stood out to me the most was that the young lady that took me around on the tour said, "We live in their world. We're here to help them in any way we can help."

Sunrise of Jacksonville was a beautiful facility with beautiful amenities. It's three floors, so it had elevators. The memory care unit was on the third floor (didn't really care for that, but that's the way theirs was structured). It seemed much bigger in multiple aspects. There were definitely more residents and their memory care unit seemed bigger. I liked their companion suites, because it's literally two bedrooms within one suite, not a shared open space with two beds. It's two separate rooms, and that was something that was really attractive. The staff were all nice and friendly. Unfortunately, they were a private facility, so we were not able to meet their financial expectations.

Sunrise of Jacksonville was very nice and clean. The staff was very professional, very caring, and concerned. The residents seemed to be extremely happy. Courtney was the one that I've been working with, and she's just been very, very helpful. The apartments were very nice and very adequate for what my brother would need. I think he'll be very happy there. They have a salon and a beautiful dining room. They have everything.

Sunrise of Jacksonville was very friendly, very clean, and very secure. The one thing I liked about that place was that the rooms looked homey. There was a window that looked out the hall, but it had a windowsill and curtains. It looked like it was their own little home. It was very impressive. The place was very clean. There was adequate staff. They knew people's names.

My friend will be moving into Sunrise of Jacksonville. We chose it because it's bright, shiny, and clean. The people have been very nice, wonderful, and helpful. The real deciding factor was the price. For some reason, I've found it to be lower than others, although they are having a special right now. What I liked the best was that the companion living has a companion suite with a shower, a little kitchen area, and a bathroom. Then they have two private rooms adjoining that. Each one has its own bedroom with a door that can be closed, so it's very private. Most of them have either a curtain dividing the two beds, a half wall, or nothing at all. I didn't want my friend to be in a situation like that where she had a roommate. They also have three meals a day, not just two. The memory suite has locked doors, where they can't get into the other areas of the facility, and there's just a lot of personal attention. They have a lot of activities. They have activities every half hour for the memory care patients, so there's just a lot for them to do. The staff was wonderful and extremely helpful.

We have found Sunrise of Jacksonville for my mom. The living facility was immaculate, and it felt homey. I watched very carefully to see how the people that live there are interacting with the people that work there; I saw nothing but kindness. I watched one little lady. She had a caregiver that was pushing her down the hall in a wheelchair, and she said something about being cold. The caregiver immediately stopped. Instead of handing her a sweater (which I have been running into things like that with caregivers), she helped her put it on. It was not like 'Here put it on' type thing. It was very kind the way she handed to her. She didn't jerk her around and was very easily slipping the sweater on. I know they didn't even know that I was watching them, but it was that kind of atmosphere that I thought that my mother needs. We saw seven places in two days, and Sunrise of Jacksonville was the very first one we saw. It made such a dramatic outline for us of what we're looking for. It also turned out to be exactly the place we wanted to go to. I think it's going to be a wonderful choice for us. Mom was she was not with us when we visited. When I brought back the information, she was tickled that she could have a little refrigerator and a little microwave to heat up her tea and such in the room. She also liked the layout of the room. The facility itself is just absolutely lovely. They have a dining room that has table linens on the tables. They have all sorts of activities. It was a really, really nice place. It felt like home. The staff were wonderful. As we walked down the hall, they would stop and greet us. It was not like 'I just keep walking because I'm in a hurry. Leave me alone. Don't make me get into this.' I felt like they love working there. The facility itself is lovely. It has lanais and little places where the residents can sit outside. We did not try any of the foods, but it was nice to see that they offer a choice. You have a choice of your entree for lunch or for dinner. They also have drink stations, beverage bars, and different things along the halls.

I loved Sunrise of Jacksonville. The security was fabulous. I met 3 or 4 of the staff, and they were all extremely nice. They made me feel at home. The rooms were smaller, but the common areas were nicer. When you walk in, it's more like a luxury hotel. They had tons of activities and the food looked good. They have a little newspaper with crosswords and things to do mental work with, which I liked. It didn't have a swimming pool, but it has a great view, like a pond in the back.

Sunrise of Jacksonville was a beautiful facility, very well laid out, it was a nice place. It was modern and spacious, and there's plenty of opportunities for the residents. The staff was very knowledgeable, very engaging, and very comprehensive in the details shared. The dining room was a very nice dining room. It looked like they had a pretty good plan, but it just was not as friendly in the meal plan as what the other facility had.

My brother is moving into Sunrise of Jacksonville. I visited it and we've moved his furniture in, but he hasn't moved in yet. I like the ground. It's very well appointed, and it's beautiful. There are plenty of places for the residents to sit and get to know each other. The rest of the dining facilities look beautiful. The people were very kind and considerate. I like the layout of the apartments. However, there was a miscommunication and it took a long time to straighten that out.

Sunrise of Jacksonville was a nice facility, but I did not care about the coordinator. She was OK, but I didn't think she did a good job on the tour, nor did she do a good a job selling me on the place. I was mainly interested in the memory care. They had regular activities for the residents.

This is the top of the line when it comes to cleanliness, great food, friendly & efficient staff, and plenty of activities offered throughout the day on all levels of care! The staff seems happy to work in this positive environment, and it is the only place in Jacksonville that I’d consider for any of my cherished family members!!!!

My aunt has moved into Sunrise of Jacksonville. It is a very well cared for and beautiful place. There are two floors of assisted living and then the third floor is memory care. It is a very well-maintained and well-run community. They have been very accommodating and very attentive as far as listening to the problem as we deal with them. They're a high-quality staff. They have musical activities, bingo, and exercise classes. There are plenty of activities. They also go for trips around the city with the bus they have. The food is very good, too.

Sunrise of Jacksonville might have been my favorite community. It was very nice, and the people there were sitting around and looked happy and engaged. They had a resident there that was really cute and mellow. At the end of the tour they gave us cookies that they had made in their kitchenl. I thought that was nice.

Director Nikkie is the horrible. She is rude to patients, coworkers and contractors that are onsite. She is by far one of the most unprofessional people I have ever met. They need to hire someone to direct the place that has a WAY better attitude.

Sunrise of Jacksonville was very nice, but it was a little bit more than what my father could afford. The staff was very nice, very helpful, very nice, and very knowledgeable. It's a beautiful building. The memory care place was very nice and had a lot of activities. It was clean.

Sunrise of Jacksonville was a very nice facility. They had a dog on-site that would make some of the residents feel more comfortable. They had a large room, but there was no kitchen area. Everything was really new and nice, but it was just a living area and a bedroom. They gave them activities every day at their memory care facility.

Mom only stayed at Sunrise of Jacksonville for two weeks. It's aesthetically pleasing. The level of care was good. The food was also above average. They have a TV room. It's a nice facility. The actual day workers are very polite.

My mother has been a little over two months and loves it. She is 90 years young. The staff is exceptional, always helpful and friendly. She loves going to Bingo and other activities. She is doing so much better than she was three months ago before she moved here. She just wished the food wasnt the same thing over and over, otherwise it would the perfect place. She said the butter cookies are the best in the Bistro.

My mother is living at the Sunrise of Jacksonville. We liked it a lot. We were very impressed. The only thing she doesn’t care for is the food. The grounds are very well kept up. The rooms are very nice and roomy. I like the way they have the window in their little living room that goes out into the hallway where they can see out. It’s like a regular house, but you see people out in the halls. Everyone I’ve met has been very friendly, very nice, and helpful.

I didn’t care for Sunrise of Jacksonville. It reminded me too much of a well-run hotel and didn’t seem like a place that you would want to be for the long term. It just had that very commercial feeling and didn’t feel like home. I saw one room that didn't make an impression on me at all. It was clean and didn’t smell. They had a little bingo room and a small beauty shop. A group of the residents were doing some exercises, but it was like range of motion in the arms and legs rather than trying to do anything real energetic.

Sunrise of Jacksonville was nice and fine. The staff who gave us the tour was very friendly. The rooms were small, but they were fine. The facility was great, bright, and cheery. They had friendly staff, and the accommodations were good, but I didn't like the fact that they didn't have a full kitchen, just a partial kitchen. The location is convenient and nice for us.

My mother has been living in Sunrise of Jacksonville for about a month. I really like the homey atmosphere. It is small and seems more like your living room when you walk in. The staff is really nice and say “hello” when you walk in. It seems like they have been there for a while, and there is not a lot of turnover. She loves it. They take her on a lot of outings to restaurants and shopping. They go somewhere at least twice a week. The cost seems affordable to her. She is happy and has a lot of socialization, which is what she needs. She is in an efficiency room with a bathroom, a little kitchen area with a microwave and a refrigerator, and a nice, safe bathroom with bars on the walls. They have three meals a day, and there is food available all the time. If you are not there when its meal time, they will still feed you. There is a little bistro that always has coffee, tea, and all different flavored water. They do a water walk around to make sure that all the guests are drinking enough water. They always have fruits, muffins, and fruits available and a popcorn machine that she loves. They do not have to go to the dining to have their meals. They can have it in their rooms.

My father is in Sunrise of Jacksonville. The people are very compassionate and caring, and they do a very good job of taking care of them. The apartments are very clean, he shares a bathroom with someone else, and they keep it nice and clean. They eat full three meals. He belongs to the walking club, and then they have trivia activities, parties for them, history lessons, and a lot of activities. They take them out for breakfast sometimes. If he physically can get out, they take them out.

My uncle is in Sunrise of Jacksonville. I like that it is clean, and it seems like it is really a top notch. I really like the nursing care and everything there. The thing I like the most is the people. The rooms are excellent. He has perfect size space for him. The food is excellent. I think they have a really good chef there. I think they can dine in there comfortably. There is no problem. I know they have quite a bit of recreation there, but I do not recall them. I think he enjoys the chair aerobics, but I do not recall all the activities that they are doing. They have their own transportation, but it does not seem to be extremely flexible for appointments for him. He is still able to go to his appointments, but not as flexible as I like. It looks like they kind of plan their routes to the doctors. I will recommend it to others.

We were quite impressed with Sunrise of Jacksonville. It looked like a resort. The staff was very gracious throughout. We were taken around, and everybody we came in contact with would stop and speak. There was just a welcoming atmosphere.

I do not have a lot of good things to say about Sunrise of Jacksonville. This place seemed to have so many employees with so many shifts, and they were so busy. To give you an example, they burst into the room with a cell phone, and when their phone rings, they will answer it, and they run out sometimes leaving the light on in the middle of the night. They also have a lot of administration people who were never there. They had activities like exercises. My mother's room was nice, and it had a tall ceiling. I would say probably the best thing about this facility was the rooms.

My mother lived here. In my opinion the company does a lot of lip services. Karen the administrator is very cold toward the residents. She has made it very clear she cares about tje dollars instead of the people who live in this facility.

Initially this facility gave me a very good impression. However, after speaking with what appears to be the main desk person named Pam, a few times, I am no longer confident that this facility is as wonderful as it may seem. Pam is extremely rude consistently and being that she is one of the first people of contact, one might wish to avoid this place at all costs.

I had a short unannounced preview visit at Sunrise and everybody that I had encountered were very nice. The facility looked very clean. I believed they had activities, but I cannot give any details at all. I believed they had an exercise room and we looked at an empty room.

Sunrise of Jacksonville is a welcoming, beautiful and contemporary facility. My young children and I visited with our synagogue youth group to bake holiday cookies with some of the residents. Everyone had such a wonderful time. The staff was helpful, the residents were all friendly and we all enjoyed relaxing and talking on the outside deck next to the 2nd floor kitchen/dining room area.
