I toured Grand Living at Tamaya. They were excellent. I loved the facility. It was just more expensive, and I didn't think it gave as much value. The meals were excellent. A lot of assistance as far as the salons, the fitness centers were all excellent, quite a few activity rooms, and offers a lot of activities as well.

In Grand Living at Tamaya, if you move into independent living and then something happens and you need assisted living, you don't have to move out of your apartment. They would just bring the services to you because it's all under one roof, all under one building. There was a nurse practitioner on staff that's there every day, all day, and on call at other times. It was like a 3 or 4-story building, and on each floor, there was a nurse's station with a nurse there. It was not like a hospital setting and it didn't look like that, but there was just somebody on each floor. So, if for some reason you needed some kind of assistance, someone would be right there. And then they can help you out or call additional assistance or the nurse or doctors. It was a fairly new place but it had kind of the feel of living in a big hotel. They did have a courtyard, and a lot of the apartments had an outside balcony. They had an art center, and they also had a hairdresser.

Staff is EXTREMELY rude to residents. Services such as CLEANING not provided in apartments or done so poorly, one wouldn't know otherwise. DISGUSTING is the only word used. Nursing staff is outright laughable as they can have messages left, and left, and left, and left by family and hospitals and they are ignored. So called ED pretends to fix issues, and not a one is fixed. Zero security for residents, just ask to be let into an apartment, and staff who has never seen you before just does it! Unbelievable.

My mother is at Grand Living at Tamaya. She's been doing much, much better there. She's out with people. She's socializing, and there are things for her to do. She goes down to dinner, and they have an excellent menu. I would say it's a four-star restaurant. They have a pool. There's something for you to do all day long. She has PT every day, the nurse comes three times a day to give her, her medicine, and the doctor is there all the time. If you look at the pictures of that place, it's like living at the Four Seasons. It's that gorgeous and she gets very good care. They're handling her prescriptions and her refills. They're handling everything for her. She's moved there permanently, but they give her nursing and physical therapy. There is not one thing I don't like. I had dinner there with her the first night she moved in. My mother had a Caesar salad, some salmon, and some butternut squash. My sister had chicken marsala and a Caesar salad, and I had French risotto and a Caesar salad. It was beyond excellent. There is a library there, a gym, a salon, and a gift shop. It's a place all encompassing and it's gorgeous. The second day she was there, she went to a musical concert. She goes to the library there. The staff is amazing. It's expensive and I couldn't afford it, but my mother can afford it, and she deserves it. It's topnotch. My mother's apartment has a kitchen, stove, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. Her living room is quite large and it has a balcony. Her bedroom is very large and she has her own furniture. It has a really big bathroom, a laundry room, and a lot of closet space. I would move there in a minute if I could afford it. They have regular yoga, senior yoga, Pinnacle, and mahjong. They have card games, movies, a gym, a spa, and dance lessons. They give you a calendar for the month of what time and what day things are, and it's literally full. There are tons to do there. My mother is getting a lot better since she moved. She has to get up and go downstairs to the restaurant and there are three or four of them. She meets people. The residents and the staff are always talking to her. There's interaction. Last night, my sister said that when they got on the elevator to go down to the restaurant, one of her neighbors was going to eat at the same time, so they ate together. When she was going back up to her room, she was met by some nurses and said, "You're new, aren't you?" There was a couple of residents there, and they all stood there and waved at her as the elevator's door closed. It's a very friendly place. I think people thrive there. I think they have won awards for their restaurant. It has nice linen, nice silver, nice china, and wonderful waiters and waitresses. They have a beautiful menu. We told the waitress, "My mom is diabetic. Can you put that in the computer?" because they order from an iPad. She said, "Just about everybody here is diabetic." All of their stuff is diabetic friendly and it's delicious. I could not find one thing wrong. As a daughter, you want to make sure that you're putting your mom somewhere that will take care of her and it will be lovely surroundings, and it is. It's very value friendly.

Grand Living At Tamaya was extremely nice. The only thing I didn't like about it is that prices were beyond my range. The room has a full kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, the whole nine yards, plus the washer and dryer. I did a house tour of the place. Everything was fine. It's a good-looking facility. It's relatively new. The people that I met and contacted are all very nice. They are a little bit pricier than the other places I looked at, but they offered a lot more. The person who toured me was excellent. They have several restaurants there.

Grand Living At Tamaya was very first class. But it didn't fit our particular needs. I like the apartment space. The independent living section was very first class, very well furnished, and very well-staffed. The rooms for assisted living were exceptionally well decorated. I have tried their food, and it was well served. I also saw a yoga class and some art classes there. The staff were well-trained. Of all that I visited, that would be the top one.

The staff at Grand Living at Tamaya was very nice. There were lots of people. It was extremely fancy and maybe a little too formal for my father in his condition to appreciate. It probably is designed more for people that are still pretty ambulatory, although they have a significant number of wheelchair people, and a lot of ambulatory people as well. Their dining room looks like you're in a grand hotel. It's pretty nice. The thing is they don't have as much selection and room availability. They're pretty full. I don't think they're designed for long-term care at all, but they have different levels of care. They don't have a doctor on-staff. They only have one nurse who's on-call for the entire place, and it's a big place. It just wasn't quite right for my father. They have a swimming pool and a really great rehab area. They have a pool in the rehab area that you can go down to on a lift chair, and then you can actually walk on the treadmill in the water. It was really interesting. I've never seen anything like that. They had two huge rooms, one for exercise machines, and the other for classes and individual therapy, and then the water therapy area. There's a lot of physical therapy there.

My parents found Grand Living at Tamaya. It's brand new, it has all the accommodations they ever want and they're moving in next Thursday. We had an in-person tour. It's very well kept. Nice accommodations. Very nice staff. The rooms were big and clean. They had water exercise class, happy hour, puzzles, card games, a library, and a fitness room. My parents haven't moved in yet but just by the brochure and what they told us, they have a lot of things scheduled throughout the day. This one was the best for my parents and it fits their needs.

In Grand Living at Tamaya, whether you're in independent or assisted living, you stay in the same apartment. It's brand new so it's very nice. The apartments look very nice. They showed us all the facility that they have. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They have a swimming pool and they have a workout room.

We visited the Grand Living At Tamaya. There were a lot of things that I looked at. The location, it's perfect for us. The facility itself is amazing, really great looking. We were just really impressed. The whole family was. My mom-in-law's going to move in on the 15th. The rooms were so much more above. It was more akin to an upper level hotel than it was a nursing home or an assisted living. We toured the assisted and memory care. She's not there yet, so everything else wouldl be a little difficult to actually say at this point. I didn't meet any of the staff.

I didn't see as many people at Grand Living at Tamaya, but they were fine. The staff members were professionals and a little pushy. It is a more elite property, which is just not my mom. I also remember my mom saying about their menu, "You have to be careful about not gaining too much weight." The facility is very nice, and the size of the room is very nice. The view out of it is not the greatest, but it is a brand-new property, and it is pristine.
