The staff at Highland Pines Rehabilitation was great. They encourage you to keep working. I would rate it very well; they were excellent. I haven't found any faults. I thought they were great, and they were good for me. The food was OK; it was good. You could play bingo, and back then we could go around other people so we were allowed to go outside and sit on the porch on the veranda. We weren't stuck in the room like now because of the pandemic.

The rooms are so so but no one takes out the smelly trash unless you ask numerous times. The food is passable not good but I've seen worse. There are a lot of incompetent nurses and aides working at highland pines and they shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the elderly that can't speak up for themselves. They leave patients lying in their stool and urine for days at a time and I know this to be true because they did it to me.Some of the patients smell like they haven't bathed in a very long time. And heaven forbid if you arrive there with only a hospital gown or one set of clothes because they will pull anything out of the laundry no matter what it looks like and put it on people.Mismatched clothes and socks and either way too big or small for the person and they make people look like they just picked their clothes up from a dumpster. Rehab is a joke.... they get you in the rehab area and you have to wait for 45mins to an hour to see a therapist and then they only spend the most of five minutes working on everything except what you really need help with. I would give highland pines a zero star if I could because a one is too good for them. Please don't send a loved one here or yourself If you love yourself or your relative you will steer clear of this place.

My 91-year-old father was recently a patient at Highland Pines. The care here was ABYSMAL! He arrived with a UTI but was never given the IV antibiotic that he was prescribed by the hospital physician. He received minimal PT and was left sitting in a wheelchair or laying in bed for at least 23 hours per day. He had diarrhea for 7 days straight and a rash on his backside that we alerted the staff to. My 85-year-old mother expressed her concerns regarding his declining health to the care team. She was dismissed as being overly worried. After trying to speak with my incoherent father on the phone, I called the unit manager and insisted that he be sent to the hospital where he was admitted with low blood pressure, dehydration, and a UTI. I am convinced that he would have died in this terrible place had we not gotten him out when we did. I really can’t imagine how bad the care must be for patients who are left entirely alone with no one to advocate for them. Do not send your loved one here.

I would like to put no star my brother i had really no choice to put him there . When i went to visit him want in room the bed sheet was so dirty black i asked the staff for clean sheets it was like asking for gold. they never picked up his clothes to be cleaned. always had dirty clothes on. Then my brother passed with no phone call from them. When i did get a massage about my brother passing. I called a nurse Betty that told me she could not tell me anything. Most of the nurse"s and CNA are incompetent. When i want to highland pines the next morning .I spoke to the new admin that give me a card. When i was telling her what was going on i felt like they didn't care. She didn't ask me if i would like my brother things . I also feel she lied about what happen to brother and how they handle the transfer. So family beware when you put your love one in a place like this

Highland Pines has a very good rehab facility for therapy. I was unresponsive for a year and a half. I couldnt stand, sit up, talk, or walk, but I'm doing all that now. They were the best therapy I had. They got me back on my feet. The food was really good and flavorful. The place is comfortable. The rooms are very decent, with VCT floors so you don't have to worry about germs. They also mop the rooms regularly. They have bingo, dominoes, and karaoke.

My sister is at the Highland Pines Rehabilitation Center now. We went there three different times and finally decided that is where she needed to go because of the medical facilities that they had available. The staff members are adequate, and most of them are very friendly and very attentive to the residents. I give them five stars; everything is excellent. The staff is very well trained and very responsive. My sister is doing very well. They are giving her physical therapy every day, and she is gaining strength. She likes it there, and she has able assistance for bathing, dressing, and everything else that she needs.

My mother was in Highland Pines Rehabilitation before she passed away. It was supposed to be a 5-star nursing home but they let her sit there with the bedsores and they never told me about it. They doped her up on five oxycodone pills a day. She was so drugged, it was impossible to communicate with her. Then they admitted her to a hospital for a high white blood cell count when they found out that she had a UTI and a bedsore that was already in stage 4. That turned into a sepsis, which almost killed her. She got out of that situation, but she was so far gone. They also let her starve herself to the point where she was down to 102 pounds. They never told me about that. Her body just gave up on her and she died. She was only 79. I was never told about the weight loss and about the bedsores. This nursing home received a very high rating and people might put their relatives in there because they think they would take care of their loved ones, just like I did. I thought they would take care of my mom there. However, they're really not taking good care of their patients.

Highland Pines is a nice nursing home. She likes it and she enjoys the activities. She is actually having fun there. The facility is nice and clean. They always have something for her to do every hour to keep her busy. They even called me when she is having seizures and I like that. They would notify me if anything happens.
