It was the scariest place I have walked into in a very long time! From the moment I opened the front door, I could smell a strong odor of urine. On the way to my friends room I passed by more than 6 patients screaming in terror. My friend cold not get to his walker, so was forced to sit in his waste all day. The roommate was a diabetic who never spoke, but there were piles of sugary foods and drinks around his bed? Don’t let your loved ones suffer here!

Do your research. There must be better places. We visited family member- both trash cans both times filled to top - one had iv tubing on top. 2 hours to get help with a medical problem. Take heed!

I pulled my dad out of there after 4-6 hours. It’s understandable they couldn’t handle him immediately as another patient coded. But after four hours, I asked them to please take his BP. It was low. So I asked are you going to give him meds. The nurse said no. He didn’t have any. I said they were called in. She said he’d have to wait till tomorrow. The pharmacy never delivered them. So I told her I’ll go to Coral Springs. Get them. She said okay. When I returned, I realized I didn’t have the 3 antibiotics he needed, new meds. So I called 911 so he wouldn’t get worse. The head nurse was nice. Said they have a box of meds. Wondered why the other nurse told me they had nothing. It was a horrifying experience. If you send a loved one there, be present. Advocate. Fight. They can’t always fight for themselves. I planned on staying the night with my dad. That’s how neglectful, uncaring and irresponsible his nurse was. The girl in all pink. Can’t rate more than that. I got him out ASAP.

My husband was at Elevate Care Menorah House. They were understaffed. The food was terrible. I had a meeting with every department head, including the administrator, because I was a very unhappy person. My husband was there for 4 days and he was supposed to be on a diabetic diet, but they had him on a heart diet. There was a very nice young man who supposedly is the person in between the resident, the facility, and the family. He pulled everybody together. The head of the nursing staff, the head of the dietitian staff, everybody. We had a meeting in my husband's room. They were so full of encouragement that everything was going to change, but nothing changed. The dietician told me she was going to the kitchen to make sure he was on that diabetic diet. But from then on, he was still on a heart diet. His sugar was running rampant out of control. They wouldn't listen to him when he tried to tell them how to control it. It was a failure.

My wife was brought to the facility due to a broken hip. I found Menorah House, which I've never heard of before. The moment I stepped in the facility, I was greeted by everyone. Avi from guest relations was very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this place to anybody. Very clean, friendly, and compassionate! All in all, a total home run!

Having my dad in Elevate Care Menorah House has been all right. The staff is nice and friendly. It's clean and there are plenty of employees. The only issue I've had so far is when my dad was transferred to the hospital right after he got there, they misplaced his glasses, and they still have not located them yet. Also the facility looks like a hospital and it's a little hard to find parking sometimes as there's not very much parking, but everything else looks good. It has activities and the outside was nice. It's all manicured.

Unless you or your family member is kosher stay away. Absolutely the worst! I laid in my own dirty diaper for two hours before someone came to clean me. I asked to talk to the Rabbi he wouldn’t come due to covid. I kept asking to see a nurse to get my meds. She informed me when she finally came in that my meds weren’t available. She told me that she told the aides to tell me that. Did they tell you because they didn’t tell me! Finally couldn’t take it anymore and checked myself out after 2 1/2 days. Run don’t walk, fine another place to go!!!!!!

Don't put anyone you care for in this place. The rudeness starts at the front door and is amplified by the rest of the staff with the exception of Rebecca in rehab and Theresa in the billing dept. The food is terrible to say the least. When you call for information they are busy or not there and never return your call. Took my relative back home the other day they didn't give us any medication or presciptions, hope they do the same with the bill. All I can say, it is the perfect place to drop off your loved one and wait for a call that they passed away.

I was a recent short term rehab resident, and although not the newest or most luxurious facility, the caring staff more than made up for the lack of luxury. The therapy dept was modern, new and excellent. The PT and OT staff was beyond great! They are a dedicated caring bunch of professionals and in particular I would like to give a shout out to Craig and Rebecca!!! Nursing and aide staff attentive and food quite good. All in all I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants first class care.

Communication with the nursing staff at my wife's arrival i\was impossible. The pictures of the nursing home are really not like the actual living facilities. Only the head RN could understand the medical terminology and apparently she had a problem communicating that information with the staff.

My mother needed long term care. I spoke to menorah house and they assessed my mother. They denied her entry. They did not even bother calling me I found out from SNF short term she was in. When I called the very rude admissions person said they don’t keep the denial information. So they couldn’t even bother to give me a reason. This is how you treat people that already are upset they have to place their parent in a nursing home? You are in the business to help people? I am totally disgusted. You should be ashamed of yourself for the unprofessional behavior never mind why are you denying a patient. That needs care in the first place.

The social worker at this facility is the rudest, least helpful person I have ever dealt with in 30+ years in medicine. I live out of state and my relative is being discharged home because he is "refusing PT because another resident told him they would send him home if he did that". His 93 year old wife is totally incapable of caring for him in his weakened state with cognitive decline and lung cancer. Social worker was no help in helping us place him in long term care elsewhere and simply said he will have "nursing care a couple of hours a day." This for a man who cannot stand or care for himself in any way. I guess the rest of the hours of the day he will sit in a chair in his own waste since his elderly wife cannot assist him to bed or the bathroom. Stay clear of this place if you care for your loved one.

Leadership starts at the top of an organization and works its' way down. The Administrator is not, in my opinion, a leader. Therefore, nurses and aides get away with far too much. Aides stand around talking and laughing rather than working. A few of the nurses are good but overall, the nurses need much improvement. The Administrator does not follow-up on constructive criticism given to him. He is too busy overhauling the nursing home, i.e., overseeing painting, a new telephone system, etc. Instead, he should be concerned about the resident and their care and safety. If you are looking for a nursing home for a relative, don't consider Menorah House.

My father fell and my brother told his nurse that he had a large bruise. The nurse responsed she would tell the doctor. A week went by and I received a call stating he was being sent to the hospital for large hematoma. It had to be surgically incised. The doctor stated that ice and compression would have prevented this. This to me is unacceptable

I would suggest families visit this facility at night. What happens in this facility at night is much different from what goes on during the day. My sister was recently in here. She told us at night staff did not respond promptly to calls to go to the bathroom and when they did they were rough and abusive with her. After talking with management they assured us this problem would be handled. Just a few days ago my sister and her son witnessed the nighttime cna yell and raise her hand to an elderly female patient because she didn't completely cover her mouth when she coughed. The next night the same patient, who was my sister's roommate, after continuously calling for assistance to get to the bathroom got herself up and made it to the bathroom. The woman fell in the bathroom and lay there calling for help for a long period of time. My sister tried to call help for her too. When someone finally did come to help the woman my sister was told to shut her mouth about the incident. She was told she better not say anything. Needless to say, my sister will not be returning to this place. Don't be fooled by what you see during the day.

I recently had a loved one at this facility for a fractured hip. The nursing staff was caring and the rehab staff was amazing. He received his medication on time and nursing time response was above average. He is back home and back to his old routine! I would definitely recommend a friend or family member.

My Dad was in this facility for rehab after back surgery for stenosis. They were kind & considerate, gave him his medications on time, he got the physical therapy he needed to help him recuperate. Previously, he was in another facility that was quite the opposite. The food was even good! I appreciate that there is a place of this quality when needed.
