We looked at quite a few facilities to make certain our parents were in good hands and one facility stood out head and shoulders above the others: Osprey Village in Amelia Island, FL. The level of care, the cleanliness of the facility and the positive attitude of the staff all rated an A+. From Robert to Alyssa, from Elyssa to Diane, we couldn't be more pleased.

Osprey Village is located on the desirable South End of Amelia Island. One of my dear friends recently downsized from a large home in the Plantation to a single family home at Osprey Village. While he was initially sad to make such a dramatic transition, he has found his new lifestyle at Osprey Village to be satisfying. His home is located on a beautiful lot where he is able to continue his hobby of gardening. He also loves that the property backs up to the walking/bike paths that he is very familiar so that he can continue his daily walks.

My sister is waiting for an opening at Osprey Village. We like it because of the number of services, and the service level is excellent. It's a beautiful facility. They had a really nice menu, too. Everything was really good; it's an excellent facility. They just renovated, they have really good services, and they have a high staff-to-patient ratio.

My Dad has lived in both Independent Living and Assisted Living at Osprey Village on Amelia Island for nearly 10 years. The facilities are beautiful, exceptionally maintained, and well appointed. The staff are amazing. This past year, dealing with the pandemic and such vulnerable residents staff truly showed their strength. They have worked so hard to keep residents safe while doing more than I imagined to keep them entertained, physically and mentally engaged and as connected as possible with family. I so appreciate all of them and would recommend anyone who wants to assure wonderful living for their family members, to just visit Osprey Village. You will be pleased!!! Rooms are lovely, clean and bright. Common areas are well designed, and provide great options for activities. And the activities are varied and numerous, whether it’s local restaurants and events, baseball games in Jax, tours of interesting places, musical events, etc. Staff are dedicated to be in touch with family members and keeping them informed. Thanks to all of them.

The Retreat at Osprey Village has done an absolutely amazing job in caring for our family members during the Covid crisis. Despite 10 months of restrictions, requirements, difficulties, fatique, etc. the staff has continued to provide professional care and love of the highest level. In the midst of so much worry, it is comforting to know that my mother is being taken care of so beautifully! Thanks to all the tireless and caring staff of the Retreat - you are the best!!

My husband and I moved to Osprey 18 months ago after 10 years of researching CCRCs. During this time we visited about 50 communities many several times. Osprey’s spacious cottages, beautiful location in a resort community and friendly residents and staff Along with its excellent facilities brought it to the top of out list. We are certain that Osprey was the right choice for us and we are enjoying the many new friends we have made here.

Osprey VIllage is very difficult to deal with. If you reside there and then leave they may or may not try to sell your unit; they will keep your money as long as they can; and they are rude and will not give you any information. Buyer beware.

Osprey Village was nice. I met the staff members. It was in a good place, in a small island. They had standard activities. There were several exercise classes. There were bingo, cards, water painting, and all the things you would expect.

I went to Osprey Village. It was awesome. If I had the money, I would be living there. It provided so much, and it had stepped living. You had your individual houses, then you could have your apartment, then there were other care facilities for those who needed assisted living. Even in the area where they had the small apartments. They had all kinds of activities on each floor, which was great. The apartments were nice and clean. They were big enough for a single person. You could have a two-bedroom or one-bedroom unit. It was rather expensive, but they were nice. They were set up so that you had a little dining area, living room, a little sitting porch, a bedroom and of course, your bath, which you could walk right into it and walk right out. It was a really wonderful place. It was independent, but it was really nice. The staff was great. They were very helpful, very awesome, and very pleasant. They had billiards, arts and games for the adult. You could also get a membership over at Amelia Island Plantation where you could have more activities. They had golf, pools and everything, but that was an additional membership fee. They had 24-hour health care so that some of the residents that were in the apartments could stay in the apartments. The dining area was very nice. They would give you vouchers for breakfast and lunch. Dinner would be charged to your monthly fee. You had the option in your apartment or in your home to cook as well. Overall, it was a very nice experience.

I moved to Osprey Village in 2004. I had known about the community since they broke ground. We had been in Florida off and on since the 1970s- living on the Plantation. When we were trying to make this decision, we knew that we needed golf options. I wanted Amelia Island. We looked around Ponte Vedra. But nothing compared to Osprey. It is such a small community that enables you to know everybody. When we came, my husband played golf. I honestly do everything, it is hard to remember. I like bridge and involved with a bridge club that dates back 30 years on the Plantation. I also enjoy the book club. I enjoy everything and have even served on the resident advisory committee. My advice for those looking for retirement communities is that if you find a community you like, go while you are still a couple. It is important to have the built in community. There is also a great community for those who are single. As a fun fact, I was one of the first people in the villas. I moved in that morning. I am still in my original villa.

My husband and I moved to Osprey Village in the summer of 2014. Originally from Connecticut, we had been vacationing in Florida over the past 17 years. Our daughter in law, who lives nearby Osprey in Ponte Vedra, was the one who told us about this great retirement community. As soon as we visited, we fell in love. What attracted us the most to this community was the colorful cottages and the layout of the neighborhood. The young, energetic staff keep us involved in many social activities and it is great to not have to cook as much! We eat in the Dining Room at least 4 nights out of the week. I believe it is important to be covered for future care, and Osprey Village provides it all! I highly recommend this wonderful retirement community.

Osprey Village was lovely. For one thing, the entry to the common area in the building had vaulted ceilings, it was clean, and someone had thoughtfully decorated it. It had lovely area rugs and big flower arrangements. It had pictures on the wall that had been chosen carefully. It was just a lovely place. I went there to see a young man play a piano; it was a piano concert, and the community was invited. I saw their dining facility because it was off of the common area -- which was actually huge -- and it was formal. It had nice tablecloths and nice chairs; it really was like a fine restaurant.

They showed me everything at Osprey Village, and they were very accommodating. It was nice -- very picture perfect -- but it was too expensive. There were nice little apartments with all the facilities in the room, and they have a full kitchen where you can go down and eat.

Osprey Village was gorgeous from the outside. It was well-maintained. The units were beautifully done, and the landscaping is good. During my visit, the staff was very wonderful and entertaining. It was obvious that they cared for the people.

We were at Osprey Village for a reception. It was a restaurant-type facility, with a number of round tables with nice tablecloths and silverware. I thought it was very nice. Food as well as the staff was very good. They were very attentive and professional. I will give them high marks. It seemed like a nice place; surely, we will be interested in it for ourselves.
