I lived at Ingleside Homes, Inc. for two years. I had many friends there. I liked it because they had many activities, and the people were very nice and friendly. I was in a studio, so it was on the smaller side, but they had various room sizes available. The dining room was extremely nice. The food was gourmet and delicious, and they served three meals a day. I couldn’t give them five stars because they had bedbugs. That’s really negative. They were working on it, but still, they did exist.

We toured Ingleside Retirement Apartments. They have a lot of activity. They have a lot of security. The staff was on site 24/7. They have a nice dining room. The residents that we met were very friendly, and they loved the place. The staff was wonderful. They were professional. They were friendly. They went above and beyond what they needed to do. The facilities were clean, neat, warm, and welcoming.

Ingleside Retirement Apartments was very good. They showed me the one-bedroom. I was expecting like a one-bedroom and a kitchen and unfortunately, they couldn't accommodate me with that so they gave me something with no kitchen. Everybody greeted you. The room was very good and clean. The staff who gave me the tour was wonderful in explaining it, took me around, and identified me with the facility. The food was good. The dining area was good. It was organized good. Everything was well. The only thing that wasn't good was when I got denied. They have different programs, movies, and things of that nature.

Ingleside Retirement Apartments appeared to be neat and clean. The rooms, I thought, were really nice. The staff who accommodated me during my tour was very thorough in explaining and answering all questions necessary. They offered a lot of activities. They had a walking tour when they had a bus that was going to the farmer's market or somewhere, and the calendar that we viewed seemed to have a lot of activities. We spoke with some of the residents and we even spoke to the floor captain or something, and they were most accommodating and friendly. The dining area looked nice and clean. The explanation they had about the food was that they even had continental breakfast, which I thought was pretty cool.

The quality and quantity of the food is terrible and you must pay for it whether you eat in the dinning room or not They do not honor special dietary needs and this is a senior place Staff is great but most in corporate could care less about seniors So many people here belong in assisted living and get no help anymore unless you pay a fee BED BUGS Everywhere Oh and. did I mention that the food sucks

What I liked the least about Ingleside Retirement Apartments was the size of the room. I was looking more for a full apartment and what they had was just a room where you had to bring your own refrigerator. It was just a big living room that you can fix up with a bed or a sofa, and that wasn't what I was expecting. So, it wasn't a match for me. It looked more like what we used to call an old folk's home. Maybe because they have dependent care there and I guess it looks more like a dependent care place, not independent living. It's an older building. So, it wasn't very modern to me and you could tell when you entered the property. The general admitting area looked very old-fashioned, like it had been around for a long, long time. Now what's interesting is that they have a small specific site that looks totally brand new with new floors, new walls, and new apartment units, but they are only for people that are in hospice and that are actually in the final phases of their life. I would have rather lived on that site. Even though the rent was reasonable, the overhead charge was an additional $600 and that overhead charge was so that they could provide you meals. For my own personal spiritual reasons, I don't eat a lot of things and I told the lady that I would eat more like salads and meatless meals other than fish, and she brought me a salad and it looked OK. It was fresh lettuce and everything on it, but I couldn't live like that. The only thing they could offer me a lot would be salads, but the tour experience I had was very professional and informative. The lady was very upbeat and positive. She was able to answer questions and she wanted to give you a good tour experience.

My friend moved into Ingleside Homes. There are no activities, but it is not their fault. It is very hard for somebody to go in with Covid on and not be able to do anything except sit in your room, but that's not their fault, too. My friend gets three meals a day, which is good. It's just that things are so different now. He can't hear well, so he really doesn't talk to anybody, like in the elevator or things like that. It's also not the cleanest; I think it could be a little bit cleaner. He has somebody come into his apartment and clean every other week. It's OK for now. Hopefully, this will be all over soon, so that he will be able to enjoy activities and sit in the lounge. Right now, it is nothing. He is just sitting in his room. The staffers at the front desk are very good. With the exception of one lady, everybody is very good. However, the people that we signed up with I don't think have been in contact with him. I don't think the social worker has been in contact just to see how he is doing. Even with independent living, they may check on him, but I don't think that has happened as far as I know. Some of the food is good and some of it is not so good. Some of the food I've seen doesn't look very appetizing. My friend picks out whatever he wants, but they deliver it all at one time. He has breakfast, lunch, and dinner delivered at 11:30 or so.

I'm here at Ingleside Homes. When I first moved in, I thought it was nice, but now they've got too many other residents in here who sell drugs, so I want to get out immediately. They offer home health aide if you need it, and they do Section 8. It's cafeteria eating. They give some residents a refrigerator and a microwave, but if you are independent you have to provide for yourself. The people who are in charge of the facility are excellent, but the home health aides stole from me. There were too many drugs in there, that's why I want to move out, but they're trying to do something about it. The food is fair. Because of the pandemic, it's not as good as it used to be because you have to eat in your room, and they give you your breakfast the night before like cereal and juice, nothing really hot. The menu is not great right now. After COVID maybe they'll be OK. It's clean.

Ingleside Homes Inc. had no memory care. We were very impressed. We saw some activities going on, activity rooms, and people were out and about. Outside of the building is a questionable, so-so, and semi-urban area.

My mother is at Ingleside Homes. Right now, she is living independently in a studio, but there's not enough nursing oversight. It is a high-rise apartment building for people who are functioning at the completely independent level of living. It's very accommodating, in a good location, and residents come and go. You need to be very independent in terms of your own personal care. The residents just need to get down to the dining room for meals communally, but they live independently otherwise. She is relatively happy there, but with her declining physical condition, it's becoming less safe for her to live there. The bathrooms have typical tubs and showers, not walk-in showers or tubs that have the cutout that you could easily get into. It's hard for her to navigate the bathroom safely with her walker and safely get in and out of a tub, etc. It's the actual physical space that is limiting and it's not as safe as it needs to be. Other than bingo, they have trips and regular movies and have a cultural center within this facility. They go to movies, musical performances, dancers come in, and regularly have parties and celebrations. They had a cocktail party and Irish dancers came in and entertained them, which she really enjoyed. There is a calendar published, and every day there's something that's going on. Exercise classes are available. The dining and the meals aren't up to par. It's a high-rise building with only two elevators, and on several occasions, they've had elevator malfunctions that brought them down to only one functioning elevator, which is a huge safety issue.

Ingleside Retirement Apartments is a high rise building. The apartments are one complex, very nice and well maintained. I just think there are not enough elevators; there were people waiting in the lobby.

I went to Ingleside, and I found it to be very pleasant, and I told the person in charge that I was interested. The person who took me around was the director. She didn’t seem to have the personality for the job. It seemed a bit like this was all run-of-the-mill. She wasn’t enthusiastic, which was a little disappointing for me. She’s been there for quite some time, so I’m sure she’s given a zillion tours. The only thing that I found negative was her. Maybe they need to get her a helper. I’d thought she’d be a little more involved, more upbeat, more informative. I do have a dog, and I didn’t know that you could have animals till I heard somebody in the hall say something about their cat. That was a big thing for me because there was no way I was going to get rid of him. It’s an awfully big place for one person to have to handle all the questions and to try to catch them. She’s not in her office that much because she’s out and about in the building with other people and taking care of other problems, so maybe they should get her a cell phone or something. The place, I thought, was gorgeous. I’m trying to get my paperwork together to go. The dining room was beautiful, spotless, clean. I have to say it was very impressive. I can only afford an efficiency. It’s just me, and it was a reasonable size. It was very nicely structured, lots of light, quite pleasant. They have a computer area, and they have people playing cards. I think she referred to a list of activities that they had posted on the wall. They have food, a cleaning service, and all utilities included. I was very impressed. It has beautiful gardens and a huge auditorium that seats 300. I think it’s very large, large rooms, like large spaces. You’re not going to feel cramped in. There was a screened-in porch where you could sit, and it was beautiful. There was a lot of space. If you came out of your room and wanted to sit someplace, there were a lot of different places you could go and sit and read or do whatever you wanted to do, talk to somebody, so I was very impressed with that. There are only two elevators, and the building is very tall. It’s over 15 floors, so the wait for the elevator would be a problem. A lot of the people are in wheelchairs, and by the time you pack in a couple of wheelchairs, it gets pretty full, and that particular day, one of the elevators was being used for a move, so there was only one. That would be my biggest negative thing.
