The facility that I chose for my mother, the Sunrise of Westminster, turned out to be a very good facility, and I'm happy about it. All of the people there seem to be very nice and caring. It's been a very good experience. She is in their assisted living, and she's on a higher level of care because she needs more assistance. I have not tried their food, but I did ask her how the food was, and she said it was very good. The facilities are very well maintained, and the cleanliness is very good. I've seen their activities too. They have a pretty wide variety of them. They have arts and crafts, bingo nights, and they bring in live music once a week. I thought they were reasonably priced. That was one of the things that I made the judgment by. Right now, I really like the facility. Their people seem to be very friendly, caring, and very well-qualified.

I went to Sunrise of Westminster. The tour was great. The individual who took us on a tour was very helpful, provided a lot of information, and was very informative. The facility was beautiful. It was just a little bit out of our budget, so we didn't really move forward on that. The room is more like a studio. It was just a little bit too small. They have common spaces; very beautiful and very roomy. The cafeteria was very nice. I liked how it was more like a restaurant. You come in, you sit down, and they'll come to your table and ask you what you like to eat and stuff like that, so it was pretty good.

I toured Sunrise of Westminster. The staff was very good. They really knew their facility well and explained everything. The facility was nice. The rooms and the views were OK. There were some areas outside that were not taken care of. Looking out the window, there were a bunch of weeds and brambles behind some houses; it wasn't pleasant. They have a kitchen in the building, but they don't prepare the food, they bring it over there. There are two buildings, and I didn't care for the fact that every month they switch buildings for activities. I asked the staff if the family could get the code so that we could just open the door and go get our relative, and she said we couldn't. I can't live here either because I can't deal with all of this baloney. They have a little church group singing hymns and playing the piano. They had a very big list of activities; however, they were posted on an eight-and-a-half by eleven piece of paper on the wall. They were typewritten, and it's very small. You would have to use a magnifying glass.

Sunrise of Westminster was very nice. The people were welcoming and very informative. The rooms were fine. They seemed big enough so that someone would feel comfortable there. I think it was a studio that we saw. I saw the lunchroom. There was somebody there, and some of the clients were gathered around the piano. They showed us a courtyard where you could go outdoors. It was clean and well maintained.

I wanted a smaller for-profit location, and I chose Sunrise of Westminster because they were highly rated. The lady, Nicki, who gave the tour was fabulous. The facility was not as large and didn't have as many amenities as the others, but their main focus was on the quality of life of the residents, such as they will match different residents together that have common interests to get them more engaged and to form relationships, and that was rather unique and I liked that. Instead of putting their money in amenities, they chose to focus more on residents and thereby improve their quality of life. The lady was very interested in details about my mother and her likes and her preferences, and a little bit about her. She probably did a more thorough intake than I had ever experienced. It showed me from the beginning she wanted to know who my mother was. They had a mix of a studio and one-bedroom quarters and they were adequate. Their common areas were very warm in the decor. They were very inviting. They want people out of their rooms as much as possible to mix with other residents. We looked at the food menus, and they all seemed really nice. They have a fireplace as you walk in, which is one of the warm greeting things. They have a piano in the main room. They had stations for playing cards. They had something that I thought was unique, and that was the covered outside area, so it was enclosed, but it was apart from the main area. You had to go through a door and that's for you just to watch the birds and the squirrels in a separate place. It wasn't in the residence and it wasn't out (it was in between).

Sunrise of Westminster was great. They have like state-of-the-art facilities. It is very nice and very welcoming. The person who took us around was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. The rooms were very clean. They're pretty average, but they're clean. It was good.

I'm in Sunrise of Westminster. I'm in a studio apartment. I got my own microwave, but there are no appliances. They do laundry once a week and they make the bed every day if you get a hold of them. They provide medical care, too. Unfortunately, they have a lot of turnovers. A lot of people will just stay a month and then leave. Some of the staff who have been here for quite a while are pretty good. Others are not that good. The food depends on the day of the week. Most times, I don't like it. The other day, they had for supper, baked potatoes with cheese and bacon bits. I can't eat cheese or any dairy products, so I didn't have that. They had just internal activities, nothing external. They have 15 minutes of exercise every morning and they get together in the evenings and afternoons. They watch a movie at night. They have nothing going outside of the facility. When you want to go outside, they got rocking chairs and you can sit in there and get some sunlight, that's about all.

We had a nice tour at Sunrise of Westminster, they're very nice. We went with another facility because they've evaluated him sooner. They have a nice dining room and they offer a lot of choices for food, and it's all good. They have the gym or the exercise equipment, they have the theater and they have an arts and crafts room where they do things sometimes. They have several different buildings, so you have to do quite a bit of walking, which might not be so good in bad weather.

I went to the Sunrise of Westminster. The people were very nice, very friendly, very helpful, and very informative. They were under construction at that time. They were doing some remodeling. We looked at the memory care unit and it seemed to be OK, although I don't know what it would be like after the remodeling. My assessment of their memory care unit was that it was too small for the number of people they had there. I saw some people having to sit on the fireplace and stone benches in order to watch TV. It seemed a little bit crowded, so they really did either remodel or do an expansion for the number of people that they had there. I saw an adequate number of helpers, CNAs, and caregivers. I was pleased with that. The price they quoted me seemed quite high, and that was a factor in my decision to put my mother elsewhere. But I think they were very honest and were probably very conservative in their assessment of the care needed for my mom. So all in all I thought the staff looked good and adequate. There's an outside walkway, an outside area, which looked very nice, but I thought the inside area could have been a little bigger for the number of people they had there.

I toured Sunrise of Westminster for my friend, and everything was great. I loved it. The people were very kind, and it was a very nice tour. The person who accommodated us was very outgoing and made my friend feel very comfortable. They were very good. The place was very comfortable and homelike. It was a very short tour; she just really wanted to see the room. We walked through the dining room and we saw that. Then we just went to a room.

Sunrise of Westminster is our first choice, but it's too far for us. We like that it's a smaller community than the other ones, and that it feels more like a family instead of hotel-like. The staff member who helped us was very sweet and helpful. We saw a room there; it just looked basic. We like that they're going to try to put my mom in assisted living for as long as they can before putting her in memory care. Their activities seemed really standard and there wasn't anything that stood out, but the courtyard the memory residents can go into is very small; there's nothing special about it.

My wife moved into Sunrise of Westminster. It's nice, the food is decent, the staff is really good, and I'm very impressed with the people that are working there. They have laundry service, they have a beauty salon there, they've got a whirlpool bath, they have travelling people that come in, she had a pedicure the other day, and they also have a traveling dentist. There's generally a full range of stuff to do. I had Thanksgiving dinner with them, it's not super great, and it's institutional.

My dad is a resident of the assisted living level at Sunrise of Westminster. His apartment is very roomy, and the staff had been very helpful when we need something. I guess the food is OK because my dad would tell me if it's bad. They have activities like entertainment, they do some physical stuff, and I saw a priest in there for church services.

Sunrise of Westminster has a community where it's completely memory care and a lot of the caretakers have been there for more than 10 years. It's excellent all the way around. My mother's room is very clean, nicely kept, has a beautiful view of the backyard, and she shares it with another lady. The meals are three times a day and she's eating well. They know how to cope when she gets agitated or aggravated. Not once has she had an ambulance ride since she's been there. The place is very clean, it is a locked and secured area, you should know the code to get in and out, and they have the doors that will alarm if they're going to the courtyard, which is allowed. The food is to die for. It smelled and looked good. They're not just sitting around looking at each other. They have trivia, games, toss and kick a ball, coloring, painting, baking, and outings. The grounds are well kept, and the facility has no urine smell. It has fireplaces and a sunroom. Everything is clean and well kept.

Sunrise of Westminster is really nice, and I liked it. The landscaping is really nice, the rooms were nice, and the people were nice. It was a nice place. The rooms are pretty much studios, and the only thing I didn't like about it is that there are two or three rooms sharing one bathroom. Other than that the rooms were clean, spacious, and nice. They had something going on while I was there -- a group was looking at pictures or something -- and they also have an activities director. The staff member who accommodated me was really nice, he was helpful, he explained everything, including how things work.

The care our mother received over the past two and half years was above and beyond our greatest expectations. The staff is knowledgeable and kind, compassionate and caring and truly feels like family. Having been with a different company before , I can say with all certainty that I highly recommend Sunrise of Westminster for any family member that you truly love and want the best for.

I chose Sunrise of Westminster because it is small, so my mom won't get lost. It is also very close to my house. I like everything about it for her. My mom has dementia, so I really like their center if she has to go into it for memory care. They have lots of activities, too. They have two rooms that she can choose from, and if somebody takes the last of those, then they will give me first priority. I like their menu choices. It isn't great, but it is good, and there's healthy choices. I also like the director. She answered my questions.

The staff at Sunrise is very nice and very friendly. The food is very good and they have a lot of good activities. They do outings and go out to eat or go to the museum. They also do bingo and things like that to keep the residents very active. Everybody seems very comfortable. If they don’t go down for dinner the staff would come up and check on them. If there’s an activity in the common area, they would go and ask them if they want to join. They are very good in taking care of the residents. One of the things that appealed to me is that everything is in one floor, they don’t have to go up and down in the elevator or stairs. My mother’s room is right off the common area, so it’s easy for her to find and get back. It’s important for someone with memory issues.

I visited Sunrise, and it was a much better community. It was very nice, and the rooms were pretty nice, but it was a little bit older. The staff was very helpful though. I was really impressed with the people that were there. It was a bit expensive, and it was in the opposite direction from where we were, but it wasn't that far away either.

Mom stayed at Sunrise of Westminster for about four weeks, and it was OK, but it wasn’t what I wanted for her. The staff wasn’t as attentive as I would have liked. General appearance was OK; it could use more sprucing up -- carpets were stained, and there were some odor. My mom had a semi-private room, and that was nice. They had gardens, nice patio, and things to look outside.

My father ended up in Sunrise. It had a friendly staff. They take in the entire range of people in assisted living, which has been great for us. My dad was able to be there when he was a little bit more independent, and now that he is receiving hospice care there, he hasn’t moved. We’ve eaten there many times with my dad, and the food was very good with a nice variety. He’s in a studio, everything is in excellent condition, and they cleaned the carpets before he moved in. The rooms are great and very sunny, it looks out on the courtyard with flowers and bird feeders.

Sunrise of Westminster has a more country feel to it. It’s a single level and has separate buildings that are distinct from each other and attractive. They have long hallways where people sit in rocking chairs. This place is our second choice since we liked it a lot. In the communal area, they have special kinds of meals, movie time, and singing.

Sunrise of Westminster was very nice, very clean, and very beautiful, but too expensive. The rooms were nice. The dining room was set up like a restaurant, and it was very nice. They were having a community carwash while we were there. They do a lot of stuff to keep them busy. If the cost was lower, they would've gotten a 5. The staff was very informative and very friendly.

The people that I dealt with in the sales office were very helpful. The rooms were pretty small, and I wasn't totally sold on the accommodations there. They had an activity going on during my visit. The residents were listening to someone talking about birds. The people weren't active, and I didn't necessarily get a good feeling about it. What impressed me about Sunrise of Westminster was the people at the management level. They seemed to be very knowledgeable and had a lot of experience in senior care.

I loved Sunrise of Westminster. It was above what I ever expected. The staff was very helpful and very friendly. They interacted with the residents, and it felt like home. They had a big kitchen area where people can come and use anytime. They also had a separate dining room where you could have dinner with your family. They had like a fruit and beverage bar out all the time. The dining room was very open. There were residents sitting there and playing cards. It was nice. They had different activities listed like bingo.

My mother is currently a resident at Sunrise, Westminster. It is a nice facility and the caregivers are outstanding. The one complaint I have is that mom's bill has "crept up" from $3,900/mo to $6,500/mo due to all of their "add on" charges, e.g., medication services (which they push you into), and the level of assistance needed. And once you're in the higher bracket for these services; they won't lower them even when the level of care or the number of meds goes down. We didn't plan on spending over $6,500/mo so we're looking at other facilities in the area.

We had already chosen and had my mom listed at Sunrise. We chose it because when we visited it, the staff was very friendly and the residents all seemed to be very happy. The facility seemed to be well kept and we liked the design of the building. It wasn't just long halls with rooms on each side, it was more like a home setting. The rooms and the dining rooms were very nice. They had a variety of activities. They had music, bingo, and they had trips like shopping.

We’ve been at Sunrise of Westminster for a month. This facility has just assisted living and memory care. The facility is well taken cared of and decorated well. It’s very clean. It was very comfortable when you walk in. It has little extras like water with fruit on the front porch. The staff is experienced and very welcoming. The nice thing about it is they personalize the care specifically for your loved one depending on what they need and how much they need, because everybody is different.

Sunrise was all right, but we just couldn’t afford it. We saw the one-bedroom apartment and it was small. They can bring their own furniture there, and it feels like a home. The staff was very nice and helpful. The residents were active and they have activities.

I visited Sunrise of Westminster, and this place is very nice, although I don’t know very much about it, but I have some parishioners who are still living there and they seem to be doing very well. The facility is very nice, clean, and modern. It seems like it’s a good community. The residents seem happy. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. They wanted to answer all my questions, and they were very eager to help my friend and to find out what level of care he needed.

We were going to sign up at Sunrise. I thought they were the best of everything. I loved the girl who ran it. She gave me all the information and everything. She was great. The facility and the rooms were nice, and I thought my mother would have been happy. However, I don't think they were social enough for my mom. I don't think they had enough activities. I didn't see the residents communicating or playing cards or anything like that. Everybody stayed in their rooms most of the time. I don’t see where they encouraged the residents to do things together. If you had a friend, you could go out and play games, but I don't see much going on where they initiated that. That made me uncomfortable, so we kept looking.

I needed respite care for my grand mother in May of this year, I took her to Sunrise Senior Living Center and they were great, they made her feel at home for the 7 days she was there. They were all very friendly and accomodating. If you are needing respite care or a place for your loved one, Sunrise Senior Living would be a great place!!!

My first impressions were of a well maintained, clean and friendly environment. The staff seemed knowledgeable about caring for Parkinson's patients and also never forget my name or my grandmothers. I visited her several times over the week and had an opportunity to also eat dinner at the facility (pretty good food). The place is setup like a group home/bed and breakfast instead of a traditional medical like building. The nurses and caregivers all wear normal clothing and scrubs so it feels more like a B&B. The place also didn't smell. I've been to a few nursing homes/assisted living places after my grandmother broke her hip about two years ago. Most have a really cold and sterile environment with a rather unpleasant atmosphere and smell. That's what I enjoyed the most about Sunrise. The atmosphere felt like a home. The last thing I'll mention is that the particular building she stayed at has two resident cats. If you have allergies or your parent/grandparent has allergies, then you should probably be aware of that. The cats are very loving and incredibly well fed.
