Affinity at Lafayette is a place for active independent seniors who create their own activities. It's very welcoming and supportive. The staff is very helpful. There are lots of amenities here. There's a library, a theater, a pub, craft rooms, game rooms, an indoor pool, spa, a community garden, and a happy hour every Thursday. There are movie times three times a week, exercise class, and a lot of spontaneous get-togethers. It's very friendly. When I came here, I found that there were facilities that had income restrictions, which I didn't qualify for. Then it seemed like the next thing available was over $3,000 a month, which was out of my price range. Affinity at Lafayette is just in between, which was wonderful for me because I could afford it. So, the value of money is excellent.

I like Affinity at Lafayette's location because it's kind of set back from the main street, so it's quiet. The staff seems dependable, very solid, and very thorough; I was impressed with that. I would rather just have a nice, roomy apartment with closets and a good kitchen, and no amenities at all, because we're really in that place where we don't need them now and it only adds to the rent. This place also doesn't have a meal ticket, so I'm thankful for that. The apartment is adequate, it has a nice washer and dryer, dishwasher, kitchen, and the rooms are very small, and it opens up to the living room. It matters that there are no closets. That's my only concern, that there's not a lot of closet space. They have a happy hour on Friday, and you get a glass of wine where it's free. They have a big movie theater, and it's big, as if you're going to the movies. They have a garden area where people have individual raised up plots. There's also a pool, a little library, and a room where people can do woodwork. The place itself is laid out fine. It seems like it's well run. I personally think they would have done well if they used lighter colors and more light in there. It was a little dark and did not appeal to me.

Affinity at Lafayette was really very nice. They were very cordial and gave me a tour. The only thing I wished they handled more of were local day trips, but other than that, everything seemed to work out fine. The staff was nice. They had a gym, swimming pool, whirlpool, and hot tub. The rooms were nice. They also had a little workshop and cards.

Affinity at Lafayette was a better facility for us because they don't provide meals, so it's a little bit less cost-wise, and my mother-in-law qualifies for the low income housing. The amenities were amazing. It has a full library and the staff did a very good job. They do not have food there. The facilities were amazing. It was like a vacation resort. It was beautiful. They have a pool, a garden, a movie theater, an art room, a game room, and a billiards room.

I visited Affinity at Lafayette. They showed me everything. They have an elevator that goes up to the floors. The rooms were good but small. They had a lot of amenities that included meeting other people. They have an indoor pool and a lobby where you can go in the afternoon and have a drink. We liked the staff. They were very good and very informative. We were very impressed.

I am very happy here at Affinity At Lafayette. I like this facility very much. The people are very friendly. There are a lot of activities that I can participate in. It is very close to the shopping malls, I just take a bus right outside the facility. There are no medical facilities; just independent-living. Most of our utilities are included in the rent which is quite reasonable. We can sort of design our own activities. We have a Bridge Club, and we have a singing group which I participate in because I am a musician.

Affinity at Lafayte was pretty large. There were several buildings there, and there's not much grounds that had to be kept. It was more of a huge parking lot there. It was fairly new and was very well kept. My daughter and I spent probably an hour or so there. They had a lot of amenities. They had about everything you could think of for seniors. They had a theater, a library, game room, craft rooms, exercise room, and a swimming pool. They had an outside barbeque area where people could go and have barbeques. They had a big room that you could reserve if you had a family party or something. However, I saw both one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments there, and they were very small. I would have to get rid of almost all of my furniture. I had the feeling there of claustrophobia that I would be in this tiny living that had room enough maybe for a TV set, an end table, and a couch. It was nice, clean, and new. It was near shopping, and it had all kind of things going for it, but it wouldn't be for me. They also had a bar there where you could drink, and a happy hour, but it wasn't my thing. Those things were not important to me. I don't have to be doing anything all the time. I don't have to go to the theater or the game room. I'd rather just have some space in my home, have windows that are bright and cheerful. They also pay for everything, like your TV and your utilities. However, that the rent was four times the amount I pay for my apartment now.

I’m still living independently and doing fine at Affinity at Lafayette. It has one and two bedroom apartments in the building so you can choose whatever you want. There are a number of programs here too. There are reading, swimming, and exercise programs. Theres also a library, so they have just about everything anybody would want I guess. It has a great atmosphere. I’m very comfortable here. I’m very much at home.
