My father-in-law has already moved into Rocky Mountains Assisted Living. We choose it because it is brand new. It is a group-home. It is nice, bright, and airy with very nice people. It just seems like my father-in-law will work really well there. They help him with his day-to-day functions.

When I got the news my grandmother would have to live in an assisted living facility I was very nervous. I knew how much she loved her house and knew the type of person she was. When I went to Denver, Co to visit my grandmother in an assisted living facility I didn't really know what to expect since I haven't had much experience being in one. I arrived at the facility and found it to be extremely nice. Everyone was very friendly and pleasant. The facility was very clean and organized which made me very happy. I knew how picky my grandmother was so I was not too surprised. I also found the facility to be nicely located. The house she was living in was not to far from the facility so she would still be close to friends and family. The houses were very "homey" and comfortable. Visiting rocky mountain assisted made me feel much better about my grandmother having to leave her home.

I personally visited this facility. It was very nice and very clean. They have a structured plan for care. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful when answering my questions. Residents were outside on the deck enjoying the beautiful weather and a nice beverage. Staff as well as residents seemed happy and comfortable here.

This is a brand new assisted living community about 45 minutes or an hour south of Denver. It opened just a few weeks ago and offers a small, homelike environment in an upscale neighborhood. High, vaulted ceilings. Lots of light. Very nice. There are even three lift chairs in the living room where the TV is for those who have trouble getting up from their chairs. There are also videos in the common areas to help keep track of residents. The owner has remote access, too. The rooms are medium size--all private except for one master suite, where a couple could stay--and they all have a sink and toilet. They share a common bath with a walk-in jet tub. One possible downside is that a few rooms have an armoire instead of a closet. I've visited the facility three times on professional tours. Based on what I saw and heard (I asked a lot of questions and got good answers), I found the staff to be good, attentive; they all seemed friendly and knowledgeable. The direct care staff also does the cooking. The meals are simple but good. Because it's new, they were just starting their activities program, but it seemed like they had a good plan: daily exercise, games, that kind of thing. One big plus: The owner is a motivated, caring person who's been in the industry for a long while and is very knowledgeable.
