The Courtyards at Mountain View is very nice and they provide us three meals a day. They mainly focus on the food which is very good and restaurant-style. Our experience is very good. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you out. The activities are good and they have good entertainment. They also have a nice little exercise place. They also have very good transportation wherever you need to go. We don't have a lot of outside excursions though. The surroundings are very nice. The courtyard has a fountain. My room has very nice windows with white wooden blinds. They also have some flowering trees and they're doing some of the landscaping so they'll be putting in more plants, so the outside is kept up very well. Their food and dining area are excellent. They're going to expand their restaurant so there'll be more space. They have some kind of fish every night, as well as some kind of meat. They have about three to four entrees like chef salad, hotdog or hamburger. You can get pretty much anything you want. They serve wine or beer with dinner, so there are no extra expenses. I'm in independent living, but they also have assisted.

I chose The Courtyards at Mountain View for my parents. The best thing I like is working with the individual that does all the coordination for new residents. He's a super individual. He has facilitated everything including helping with my contractor who is conducting the actual physical move of items from the house to the apartment, to making arrangements for them to get all their pre-qualification completed like medical screening, and coordination with my parents' medical team and all of those logistical things. We dined there and the food wasn't exceptional. But when you're used to eating in nice restaurants that can be expected. The staff was great though. The place was clean. I understand they have a lot of activities but when I was there, I didn't get a chance to witness any of the activities. I had an awareness of them, and they had a calendar up and so on. When I was there, it was a relaxed kind of sleepy environment where there wasn't a lot of noise being made. And if I compare the size of the rooms with some of the others, it's probably higher. We ended up with a two-bedroom for my parents, and we're very fortunate that we got a balcony, too, so that gives you a little more outdoor space.

I lived at The Courtyards at Mountain View. The layout was large, so depending on which room you have, you may have a long walk to go to either meals or activities, and they're all centrally located. They have a beauty parlor with someone there twice a week. They have a library, music is played quite a bit, and there's live music at least once a week. It's very pleasant as far as looks, and the hallways are wide, which is very nice for people using any kind of a walking device or scooter or anything like that. They provide three meals. There had been multiple chefs, and the food was just very up and down and rarely was it good. Up until two months ago, the activities were excellent and multiple, and they had all kinds of things. Two months ago, we got a new person and I had not seen activities happening. What throws all of these good things off is the administration. There had been five directors when I was there, three chefs, and frequently not enough servers in the dining room. People only had hot water for months on end. It could be a wonderful place. It's physically wonderful and it had this lovely courtyard.

My father was in Skilled Nursing for over a year. I will start with saying that there were several kind and caring staff members. The management overturned every 2 or 3 months which left everything in a constant state of flux. The dining room service was about 50/50 (fair to bad). Breakfast and soup were about the only edible foods and I dined with my father many times. I started bringing him food from outside so he could enjoy a meal at least once or twice a week. Most of the staff speaks rough English which is very hard and frustrating for the older folks here who are predominantly hearing impaired and English speakers. At the beginning I was appalled at the care when I discovered infections on his feet because I saw blood on his socks. There are good hearted people working here but they are poorly trained with the exception of a few. I'm not sure that my fahter's care wouldn't have improved if my brother or I weren't stopping by there almost daily to check on him. For families who are thinking of bringing their loved ones here, I would plan on checking on them at least twice a week and checking for cleanliness of wounds.

disappointing all around. Staff poorly trained, poorly supervised and expensive. Food service is BAD and the food is fair to poor and the Sunday brunch is a disaster. I am getting out of here!

A local hospital recommended that my aunt go to the rehab unit at Brookdale Mtn. View. The lack of communication between the administration and the family was awful. Instead of having the Brookdale staff contacting us and scheduling a meeting to let us know of the progress of my aunt's health, we scheduled it ourselves. That was AFTER the complaint that was filed with the Public Health Department. That was AFTER a bedsore 5 cm long - and UNDRESSED - was discovered by a family member (staff had known about it for 3 days). That was AFTER my aunt complained that she was dropped while being weighed (all staff were questioned about the incident and since no incident report was filed, administration says "it didn't happen." However my aunt is still talking about it. My aunt declined rapidly after the above mentioned things and nearly died of starvation and dehydration. The best thing to happen to her was when she declined her meds and was transported to the hospital. I would advise anyone with a loved one to be sure to research, personally look at and ask questions at several long term facilities, assisted living facilities or rehab facilities. You ALWAYS want the best care for your loved one!

We found a place for my aunt in Denver. It’s Brookdale Mountain View. First impression, it’s very nice. It’s very clean. There is a very nice entry room. The saleslady we met was very positive and helpful. They have lawn area, shrubbery, and flowers. There is like a sort of a courtyard as part of it, which is nice. They have some benches out there for people to sit. They could use a little more parking space though. The rooms look very nice and clean. The one problem is that my aunt complained that so often it would be a different person that attends to her. Like every time she takes a shower, it seems like it’s a different person. The persons taking her to dinner or lunch or breakfast are different people. Many of them are very nice and helpful, and some of them are just rude. Most of them are minorities, and it is hard to understand any of them. I don’t know if they’re from Somalia or from East Africa, but it is difficult to understand them, and it can be difficult to make oneself understood by them. There are not enough people that they employ to give really proper efficient care to everyone that’s there. It’s a nice facility, and the people they hire -- some of them are very nice, but very often people are hard to understand and some of them are just downright rude.

Brookdale was nice and big, which we didn't think was so great because you have to walk to your room, so that's a negative, but everything else was great. There were a lot of Jewish people there. I met one guy who was really funny. He said, "If you move here, I'll get a $1,000 because I recommended you, and I'll give you half!" I said that's smart. He's living there and he's trying to make money. They had a nice place that's away from the road, so during nice weather, you could sit on a bench and talk to somebody. It has a dedicated plot of land and you could even have a garden, so that's nice. You get a place where you can put flowers and vegetables.

Brookdale was clean, beautiful, and very friendly. They have regular apartments. The dining room seemed like fine dining without a huge delineation between the independent and assisted living sections.

The rooms are pretty small at the skilled nursing part of Brookdale Mountain View and it was a shared room. I like that they have plenty of nurses.

Brookdale Mountain View is a very nice place. We saw a little bit of their activities, and they also have an activity calendar. The rooms that we saw ranged from studios to two-bedroom apartments, and they were very nice and adequately spacious.

My parents are very happy living at Brookdale Mountain View. The place is clean and neat, the staff has been very supportive, and the food is very good. The service in the dining room could be a little bit better, but you can't have everything. There are many activities for the residents to take part in. Every single day, there are 6 or 10 activities. They have a bus that my mom has already taken to get to the grocery stores. Whatever they want, it's there for them.

My mother has been at Mountain View for quite some time now. The facility is nice and the price is high. Way too high for the experience we have had with employees. Their employee turnover is very high and they are chronically understaffed. The employees are generally immigrants from north Africa and the middle east with very hard to understand the accents. If I had it to do over, I would pick somewhere else. The value is not there.

Brookdale was nice and pretty, but way out of our price range. The woman we met was good and knowledgeable. It was kind of high end. The rooms were nice; spacious and nicely laid out. They had a little library, computer, and they had a range of things for people to do.

After looking at many (14) Independent Living communities in the Denver area, my mom landed at Brookdale Mountain View. On our visit, we were greeted with friendly smiles and happy residents. We found a spacious studio and it's a great location into Cherry Creek and the airport. In addition to a happy and pleasant environment she wanted covered parking, which she now has, and she also loves having a washer/dryer in her unit. My mom is a very active working senior and has already made new friends.

Brookdale Mountain View is very good. My apartment is spacious and beautiful with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen. You can cook your own food, or you can have their meals. I like that the people are friendly.

I did visit Brookdale Mountain View, and it was very nice, but I felt I wasn’t ready for it yet. The staff was very good, and I was impressed with the care that was given to the people. Their apartments were very nice and fairly accommodating. They offer multiple activities like card games and bingo.

My in-laws are in Brookdale Mountain View for about 15 months now. It has been very nice. Most of them are very good, and some of them are absolutely incredible. They are very caring and very professional. We have been very pleased. There were a few that were clearly not cut out for the job they were doing, and they did not last there. I do not know whether they left as their choice or if management asked them to leave, but that has been our experience. Overall, the place is kept very clean. They have exercise classes and travel logs where they talk about different countries. They also have various games like bingo and bridge. They have happy hours every week where they serve wine or beer and finger food, and they actually have live entertainment come in. They take bus trips as well. My in-laws have a one-bedroom apartment with one bathroom and living room area. It also has a little microwave and a sink.

Brookdale Mountain View is a very nice facility. We looked at their skilled nursing care and their long term facility, and they are very attentive to the residents. They decorate their rooms, and family members are encouraged to come and have meals with them. Nice spacious rooms and shared bathrooms. They have a bus for them to go church and outings -- really nice. But it was very pricey.

We have moved my mother to Brookdale Mountain View. She had been living in a Brookdale place in another state, so things seemed more familiar to her, and it's the closest to where I live. She has only been there for two days. Her room is very spacious. The amenities are very good. She likes to play Bridge, and they have exercise classes. I like the restaurant style of the dining room that you can go in anytime, and not at a certain hour.

My mom was in Heritage for three months last year, and it was pretty good. Sometimes you had to do a little waiting, but the staff handled her very well, the food was very good, the building was really nice, and it was always clean. Maybe if they had a little more staff it would be better.

My mother was at the Heritage Club when she came out of the hospital, but this was a private facility. It was a good thing that it was private, but she didn't like it at all. The halls were long and narrow, and I think she just couldn't see enough. They were clean, but I don't know how my mother felt -- she just didn't like it. The staff was very nice and very informed. They were good at giving you information in advance. It was actually a nice facility.

My mom has been at Heritage Club for 7 years. It’s a lovely facility. It’s 7 years old. It needs a new coat of paint, but they’re working on it. The rooms are bigger. They have a full kitchen with a stove and oven, a regular refrigerator, a microwave, and a dishwasher. It has a washer and dryer right in the apartment. It’s like living in a little apartment and it has big, bright, sunny windows. The staff is lovely. They’re very nice, very friendly and very helpful. I know everybody, and they know us.

I found Heritage Club, and my mom has moved. It became urgent, so the transition has already happened. It's close to me. I was familiar with the facility. Some other friends' parents had been there. The apartment that my mom moved into was quite nice. The people are eloquent, and I think they're sweet and caring. There doesn't seem to be a lot of going beyond the scope of what the patients need. The sanitation is good. They have two dining rooms. They probably have a third one for their nursing care. That's one of the reasons why I chose it, because they had various levels. They had independent living, assisted living, and nursing care, as I wanted to make the move once. I've only eaten in the independent living dining room. It's not gourmet, but for the residents there, I think it's generally quite good. There's more variety that's offered for independent than there is for assisted, but no one's going to go hungry. My mother loves that they have oatmeal every single morning. It's made from scratch, and that is important to her. The dining room is very nice, and they have brunch there on Sundays. That seemed fairly good. It works for my mom.

Heritage club is a good facility and my mom is happy there. The building is pretty big and she?s got her own apartment. She?s in independent living but there?s a nurse station in every floor taking care of their medications. The food is really good, they have a nice restaurant there and my mom eats there every day. They had activities. They have a nice library and game room, they show movies, and they have church service. They take people out on field trips to botanic gardens and places like that and they take them out shopping one day a week.

Heritage Club Mountain View was beautiful, very classy, and over-the-top. It was also spotless clean. The staff who assisted us was helpful, nicely dressed and seemed to be truly interested in what I want. The marketing person took me and my daughter-in-law around and answered our questions. This person was very proud of the place and rightfully so because this facility caters to assisted living as well as independent living. However, that raises the price for everybody. Even though there was a lower price for independent living, it still raises the price for everybody.

Mom was interested with Heritage Club Mountain View. We like the place as it was very good. It was very warm. The gal that showed us around was very nice. The rooms were not spacious, but I think they were adequate. We like the people. We ate lunch there and the food was very good.

The staff was exceedingly friendly and professional. The community itself was beautiful! They seemed to genuinely care about the residents-asking us personalized questions about our loved one. Their dining room was immaculate and the food was outstanding. They said they empasized the fine dining approach to each meal...cloth napkins and a salad bar! So impressive! This community was also a health care center and a independent living community. It seemed that residents flowed between departments and that the staff was keenly aware when a resident needed more care and attention. My husband was concerned about the financial aspect of the care. He was walked through the what my mother in laws LTC insurance would pay for and was reassured that she would get the best care for the money. There were many activities provided to the residents and outings too. The folks were headed out to a baseball game when we arrived....that is something my mother in law would love. We are strongly considering a move to this community, as it is beautiful, centrally located and my mother in law was pleased. We have been to one other place and were not nearly as impressed with the quality of care and community as we were when we visited Heritage Club Mountain View. We would definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested in exploring this option for their loved one.

My 91 year old step-father was here for a total of less than 4 days in August 2010 having been discharged from Rose Medical to either go home for 24/7 nursing care or to go this very expensive nursing home for rehad. He left Rose as a known fall risk (having been to the ER @ Rose Medical two times in July/August). We were assured that he would be watched at this very expensive nursing facility. He was found on his bathroom floor having fallen there early in the morning on his last day, a short time before he died there after they "discovered" him after who knows how long laying on that institution's bathroom floor! This place advertises they will take care of your "loved one" and they had no idea he had even gotten out of bed to try to use the toilet by himself! He would have been better off to have died on his own floor at home with more dignity. This man's father lived to be 96 and although Joe would not have lived forever, having served in WWII in the 82nd Airborne, this is not a way to treat someone who for his efforts and other's in that war we could all be speaking Japanese of German now! This facility should have had a bed alarm on him or stationed him closer to a nursing station so they could watch him as they were paid to do! DO NOT use this facility as ALL they want is your hard earned money, they would much rather make a profit for their shareholders than do an adequate job supervising your loved ones which they are supposed to be paid to do! Thank you.
