I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was recovering from an acute illness and when she left the hospital shr moved to Clermont based on location. The OTR who has been there a long time and is still there immediately dismissed my mother as already being at her maximum level of achievement and said nothing could be done for her. We moved to another assisted living where the rehab group worked miracles with her. Their speed and OT therapists were amazing and so committed to their work. I am very surprised to see that Clermont has not changed their staff.

Provider Response

Jack L, it's upsetting to hear that you did not receive the top-notch service we strive to provide. What you are describing is not reflective of the care and services we provide at Clermont Park. Please reach out to our Executive Director so we can understand better.

Our experience was during the pandemic, and it was also during a time when staff was leaving. I think the therapy could have been more aggressive. The communications are good, but the staff are soooo busy - that your loved one should probably not depend on the "buzzer"- call button. The rooms are nice, the food is good, it's a nice place to hang-out. So depending on the amount of care - or not.......It Does Not Smell like pee!!

Clermont Park was okay but you had to pay for your own food. If you need the food delivered to you like if you're sick, they will, but for a fee. They have 24/7 staff. The staff who gave me the tour was really enthusiastic about it. They have more activities for more active adults than where I'm living now. They have more of a wellness program. The rooms were good and they had fans in the rooms. They had hotel room air-conditioning and maybe some of the newer rooms they didn't, but the one room we looked at was in the basement and it was kind of dingy and very small. They have regular housekeeping once a week. They have kind of a rehab program there and physical therapy. They also offer HUD program but then the HUD process is terrible.

Very poor staff management. Phone calls to nursing stations are frequently unanswered and messages left for the staff members requesting a callback are often unreturned. Meds are not administered consistently as prescribed. Additionally, patient care files for new prescriptions, or changes to existing prescriptions, are not updated in a timely manner often causing delays in the desired administration of patient medication regimens. A beautiful facility, but the quality of the care provided needs to be improved.

My mother was a resident of Clermont Park. They have independent living, a nursing home, and assisted living also. It's been remodeled now and I would give it the highest rating. They have two different kinds of accommodations. The rental units had an eight-month waiting list, and with the new building you have to pay a deposit. The food is fine, and the staff has been very good. They have everything, like a wonderful gift shop, two ways of dining, and so on. You get one meal a day if you're in the rental. If you're in the other place where you pay more, you'd get about $350 allowance per month for food. They also have a beautiful little park that you can sit in. It's a nice community.

They're understaffed and need more nurses, it could take up to thirty minutes for them to respond to the emergency button in the room (not ok at all) especially in the evenings/ at night. Even after saying that was ridiculous they didn't change or say much. They give "free" haircuts but charge $20 anyway, the food is mediocre but they do make sure everyone has eaten. The staff that isn't apart of the nursing is generally rude and dismissive, I asked a man in the office where they offered snacks for between meals and he snapped why would he know, probably cause you work there but thanks for being an ass. Any time something happened with my grandmother it was address because WE noticed long before any nursing staff (rashes, needing a bath, needing a diaper change etc.) I will say Melissa (nurse) and Rebecca (coordinator) were absolutely amazing and without their help and hard work would have given this place one star but they were so kind and helpful to my grandmother while she was at the facility.

Clermont Park was lovely, but they seemed to charge for everything. The accommodations were very comfortable; we met a lady and looked in her 1-bedroom, and it was lovely. It’s expense is over $5000, and it’s too much for us.

Provider Response

Thank you so much for your 5-star review, Gene! We're sorry Clermont Park seems to be above your range of affordability. We would be happy to talk with you more to discuss other financial options within our organization. Also, one possibility that may be of interest is our new community in Denver, Dayspring Villa. -Nicole Pollard, Director of Sales and Marketing for Clermont Park

Clermont Park was very nice. The staff was affable and answered our questions. They didn’t take us on a tour, but we saw the dining room and walked down the hall. We asked to see a room, and they showed us one which was nice. We had lunch there. It was 5-star.

My mother was in Clermont Park only for a week. The staff was good. The rooms were fine, clean, and big enough for one person. I did not eat there, but it appeared as though they had good food. The dining was very nice and very comfortable. It was kind of a continuum, so most of the people ended up in the skilled nursing section. You started out as independent living, and you could move to assisted living then skilled nursing. My mom was there for a short time and didn't participate in the activities, but I could tell they had activities scheduled. I would say it was safe enough.

Provider Response

We would be very happy to serve your mother again, should the need ever arise.

Clermont Park is the newest, friendliest, had the most programs, and no extra cost for things, unlike other places where everything was an extra cost. My parents are doing well in this facility. They are staying in an apartment that's got its own patio, living room, kitchen, dining room, a full kitchen, bathroom, a walk-in closet, and a bedroom. Their apartment has 11-foot ceilings, it's brand new and never been lived in. The food is excellent. Clermont has a cafeteria and a regular sit down restaurant, and they provide a food allowance per person each month. Residents can go to either place. My parents have been extremely happy with the food. It's like being in a five-star resort. There's a fitness center, movies, church services, concerts, and it just goes on and on. There's something more to do every day.

Clermont Park has subsidized apartments, which my sister needs. We are currently on this facility's waiting list. The employees and volunteers were very professional and helpful. They showed us around and answered all our questions. I highly rate that as a positive thing. Parts of the units are subsidzied apartments and those are where the subsidized ones are. They were very clean but small. The bathrooms were also clean and big enough for wheelchairs and walkers. The doors were wide enough. The kitchenette had everything but a dishwasher. I believe they also had a recreation area where residents could exercise.

Christian Living Communities have been wonderful to my grandparents. They are thrilled with the quality of housing, their fabulous apartment, and the gorgeous garden view. They receive excellent medical care and hospitable concierge service from everyone on staff. When I've visited, we have enjoyed truly great meals at the many restaurants on site. Their well-appointed library is my grandmother's great joy. They love their new home, and I love it too.

The condition of the building was wonderful--very well decorated and clean. The rooms were set up oddly; they were shared, but had a half wall between sides so it wasn't exactly like a hospital, but it also didn't promote companionship between the two residents. The dining room looked nice and the menu sounded good and as though it had a good variety in it. I liked the fact that there were various levels of care all on the same campus. Some of the workers didn't seem as high a caliber as I would have liked and many of them spoke very broken English that was difficult to understand. The staff didn't have much interaction with the residents, and when they had free time they would stand and gossip with one another instead of interacting with any of the residents. Overall I think it's an acceptable place, but it wouldn't be my first choice for placement of a family member.
