Great value for the prices. I am grateful that we found such quality care within my dad's budget. The staff is knowledgable, friendly, respectful to their residents. It's great to know that when we leave him, that he's well taken care of.

I toured Pacifica Senior Living Union City. They had the same problem with the other courtyard where they needed somebody to open it for you. You can't just go by yourself. The staff was very nice. They have a nice room. I didn't have any problems with the room and stuff. It looked pretty clean.

I didn't like Pacifica Senior Living Union City. The room was not as good as the other facility we visited because it was a little older. The staff was good, though. They have activities. This facility was smaller.

I went to Pacifica Senior Living Union City. It was very nice and very clean. We saw some of the residents, and they looked happy. The person who gave us the tour was really helpful, and he answered all our questions, too. The area was nice. We were sad that we couldn't keep my aunt there. The dining area looked very nice. It looked like they had a library and a beautiful outside area. They had nice grounds, and a lot of the residents were outside that day.

I didn't like Pacifica Senior Living Union City. It didn't feel welcoming. It did not feel homey. It was not a place that I would like for my brother to be. The apartment was acceptable. The staff was informative, though they didn't seem to have gotten any notification that I was coming. I was toured there by someone who wasn't a salesperson or anything like that. She didn't know much of anything but was very willing to find out and connect me back. It just wasn't very impressive. I think they need an update the facility. It looked rather worn. The one good thing is that they supplied furniture. People were watching TV in the middle of the day and others were sleeping, slumped in chairs. It just wasn't a pleasant place. Everybody was locked down. They had a beautiful outside area, but they didn't let people go out there and I thought that that was too bad. It was very large. They had two sides to it and it was mostly empty. I didn't think that the caregivers were very attentive. They were acting like guards and they weren't interacting with the people. It just didn't give a nice feeling. They should let people go outside, and fix it so that people can wander around and can't hurt themselves and have a little more freedom. It looked sad. It was kind of dark. It didn't look happy. It didn't have a feeling of being homey and warm. It's not a place where you can leave somebody that you love.

My mom is still at Pacifica Senior Living Union City. I liked the facility and the cleanliness of it. However, they need to improve it as of right now. They're changing staff constantly. They need to have more one-on-one with the patients. They don't do that per se; they just leave them alone for a long period of time. They need to improve their interaction. They seem to have a better director now. The past two and a half years they probably had more than five directors since my mom has been there at least, so they keep changing. But at the moment, they have a pretty good one now. Podiatry comes every once in a while. They have people coming in. However, the cost keeps going up. In terms of location, it's within 5 minutes of restaurants and the hospital is probably about 15 minutes away.

Pacifica Senior Living Union City wasn't that expensive. I chose to stay there because they had a two-week minimum while a lot of the other facilities had a 30-day minimum. The facility was spread out. So, there was a lot of walking I had to do with my walker and I was put in a room fairly far away from the dining area. It's a two-story place with an elevator and anybody that can walk, can get around, but it was hard for me. I'm used to a low-fat, high-fiber, high-protein diet, and their meals were not like that. A lot of the seniors there could have benefited, health-wise, if they had lowered the fat content of their meals and increased the protein, complex carbohydrates and fiber. Also, the things on their alternate menu, if you didn't like the meal of the day, were not often available. So, I was generally disappointed in the food, because it's like so many places. With a little bit of planning, they could make it a lot healthier for seniors. It was just very uninteresting food. The staff were very nice though.

We went to Pacifica Senior Living Union City. The tour was good, the place was really clean. We talked to some residents and they liked it there. They were happy. It was a little too independent, for the care that we need but, it's a nice place. I would recommend it to anyone. They had a huge social calendar that had things planned for every day of the month and lots of areas where the residents could meet up and do things. There's coffee, games, they have activities, they have buses that take them to different places. Everything looked new and clean. We interacted with a few staff members, and the only thing I didn't like is that when we walked in we had to, like, stand there for a long time before anybody acknowledged us. But once we interacted with the staff, they were. They were all nice.

Pacifica Senior Living Union City had nice rooms. It had a smaller personalized setting for those with dementia. It did appear to be activity heavy, so that's a good thing. The staff seemed nice and willing to help each other out because I think they were short-staffed the day we toured them. The facility was clean. It was a little bit dated, but not in a bad way.

Pacifica Senior Living Union City is the closest to our house. They have a beautiful facility. The staff member was great. He explained every aspect of what's going on and what they offer, so I was quite impressed. I like the cleanliness of the place and the ample room for personal stuff.

Pacifica Senior Living Union City was beautiful. Everything was updated. It was immaculate. They were welcoming. The host that showed me around was very knowledgeable, and friendly, and was able to answer all my questions. The dining area was nice. They had assisted living and memory care. It was laid out very well because it was a large place. On different sides, you can go through different doors for what you're looking for.

Pacifica Senior Living Union City was very modern and clean, it smelled good in there. It looked like a nice place overall. The person who assisted me during the tour was very helpful, informative, and friendly. There is plenty of stuff for them to do, they had a movie theater room, and they had a nice patio area outside. When we got there, it was between breakfast and lunch, so the people that were out of their rooms were just kind of hanging out, socializing. It's closest to my dad's doctors' offices, and it made such a good impression on me that I didn't even want to go check anywhere.

What I liked most about Pacifica Senior Living Union City was the privacy that the residents have. I saw a studio and a shared room. The studios were the perfect size for my husband. It comes with a little kitchenette and a bathroom, which was nice. The rooms were very nice. They publish a price, and on top of that, it depends on the level of care that they need. They explained that as my husband progressed towards more mobility and independence, the price would go down. But initially, it's out of my price range. They were very informative. They had a beauty salon. The staff said the activities are cut back a little bit because of COVID. I also liked that they got the residents to come down to dine instead of having them isolated in their room. They bring them down to the dining room three times a day, so that was good.

We moved my father into this facility and the staff were very welcoming and caring from day 1. The maintenance team was able to get the room ready quickly and went above and beyond by assisting with my fathers furniture, which they didn't need to help with. The team fostered my dad as he came in not really wanting to change his ways, but after a short while he was engaging with staff and other residents and having a great time socializing. As for his health, the team was attentive and helpful in his recovery and care. Within weeks my dad was up and out of his wheelchair and is now walking fully on his own. My dad is someone who is usually adverse to new environments and people, but so far he has been having a blast and enjoying himself. His favorite is the onsite barber who comes and is able to cut his hair and shave him! super cool. One thing my dad wished was up and running is the shuttle service. Due to pandemic and other circumstances, the shuttle is not currently running, but he is remaining hopeful!

My parents moved into Pacifica Senior Living at Union City 8/2020. My mother had Alzheimer's and passed away 11/2020, and my dad has vascular dementia and continues to live there. We chose this facility because the environment was much nicer than other places - patients have their own bedrooms, and only need to share a bathroom with one other same-sex resident. The facility is nicely decorated, and my dad and several other residents call it the hotel because it looks so nice. My dad loves the food, and even held off on eating homemade cookies during a recent visit because he didn't want to spoil his appetite. He is always happy and clean when I visit him. I had concerns for a while because there was a lot of staff turnover a few months ago, but the new staff seem much better - my phone and email messages are returned promptly, which was an issue with previous staff. The new activity director seems to be doing a lot with the residents - I can see photos and videos of the activities on the facility's Facebook page - and the new memory care director Anoop keeps on top of everything and was persistent with my dad's doctor's office when they took a while to return needed paperwork. He gets my dad's sense of humor, and I like the way the two of them interact. Relieved that my dad's needs are being met and that he is so happy where he is.

My mother is at Pacifica Senior Living Union City, and it's been good so far. My mom needs a lot of care because she needs changing of diapers and beds, and at night she doesn't sleep very well. In the morning, they try to take her out to go for breakfast, and they do the same for lunch. They do their best. She brings her pendant or her watch, but there never is enough help. When you're old you need help for changing, and old people don't have patience anymore to wait for you; but so far, she's okay. The food is not the greatest though. If she doesn't like what they're offering, then she ends up with the same tuna sandwich or peanut butter sandwich. So far the place seems OK and very, very good. It's clean, and I have no complaints. They clean the room once a week. Because of the Covid, they didn't have many activities. They started when my mom just got in, and they started a little bit of bingo. The only thing that she probably participates in is bingo. They have to remind her to come and go sometimes because it's hard for her to remember. They have a nice garden. I took her out a couple of times when I was there. You got some staff that are very helpful. They do their best, and some that don't care. Most of the staff are good. From what my mom sometimes tells me, some of them answer back or they pretend they didn't hear her. My mom doesn't really join too many activities, so she only went a couple of times to bingo. I know they have a movie every night, but the place is very quiet.

I and my mother are residents of Pacifica Senior Living Union City since 5 year. I like this place very much, it is close to my brother and transit takes me every where around the Union City and Newark anywhere I wants to go. And I am close to Bart and can get to San Francisco as well. Community is caring and all the residents like each other very much. We enjoy doing things under the care of staff.

I was a little concerned about how the transition of living in a Senior Community would impact my mother. But Pacifica has proven to be the "perfect" choice for that transition. First and foremost the facility is "clean" and very well maintained on a routine basis, that was "extremely" important to me, my family and my mother. The staff is GREAT, from the front end management team, the to front entrance reception area, to the dining area, to the facility techs, and the night crew(s), everyone is very polite, professional, pleasant and very easy to communicate with. Additionally, everyone is very responsive to the requests and or needs of the residents, my mother is extremely pleased with the attentiveness of the staff there. Activities are plentiful for any that chose to get involved or engaged in, which has made a nice difference in my mother's day to day routine(s). I feel really good with where my mother is and how the transition turned out to be very good and easy for her.

My mother has had dementia for 8 or 9 years. We had her at home but as her disease progressed, it became harder to care for her. We moved her into the memory care section of Pacifica Senior Living in Union City, CA. Her placement was really good for all of us as she wasn't happy living in my small house. The facility is comfortable and big, with room for her to walk and two outdoor areas for residents. The staff is very professional and concerned about the care of the residents. The memory care director is active in all aspects of the facility and is quick to help if problems arise. I am very fortunate to have my mom at Pacifica Senior Living. Thanks to the staff for all they do!

I liked that Pacifica Senior Living Union City was a smaller community. It's very well contained. It's very clean, and there were no bad smells or anything. The director was very kind and very open to all questions. He took us through the facility. It was a very thorough meeting. He took us into the room that would be available. He was very kind and nice. I can't say anything bad about them. It was a very nice facility. They have memory care, too. It turns out my dad could use a little bit of memory care in addition to assisted living. It's more like a small hotel, and it's all enclosed. There were two levels. The rooms were small, but enough to put a bed, a couple of dressers for storage, and a TV. They also have double room like a suite where two people can share. Because of Covid, they're pretty careful about letting people in. He did go over the activities. They have transportation to the salon and doctors. They have an on-site doctor who comes once a week to see their residents. It's not luxury, but it's great. I highly recommend it.

Lou - was a wonder. He told us about availability, Covid, move in specials, the on-line brochure, and he demonstrated an obvious desire to help us find the appropriate place for Micki. He was with us throughout our search - sending specific room photos, dimensions, and eventually a full video tour. Lou showed us everything he could and remained super supportive long after Micki had made her choice. Lou was patient and persistent with regards to Micki’s needs. Thank you Lou - you were extremely generous with your time, suggestions, and thoughtfulness. You have been blessed to bless others - keep on! LeniE

We recently visited a family friend of ours. The atmosphere as soon as you walk through the doors was delightful. The staff are welcoming, we were impressed on how involved the staff are wth the residents. Coming across caregivers and managers as well. My family & I were extremely impressed with the amount of activities they had happening. She couldn't stop talking about the Beautiful decorations, entertainment. We even experienced a group doing flower arrangements which was lead by the activity director which is rare at other places it shows how committed Pacifica is to our loved ones.

We liked the smaller, homey atmosphere at Pacifica. We felt like we were already residents when we toured the community. The people were friendly, diverse, and happy to be there. It’s in an ideal location, in a residential neighborhood. The rooms were super clean and spacious. The layout of and accessibility to the cafe, courtyard, sundry store, activity room, library, laundry room, exercise room, etc. were perfect.

The rooms at Pacifica were pretty nice. I was quite impressed with the person who showed me everything. She was pretty knowledgeable, so I walked away thinking that in the future, she could probably help me. It was a nice facility. She showed me a shared room that had all the amenities my mom might like. That was one of the nicer ones I visited. They had a sitting area, a TV area, a reading area, a game room, and a cafeteria.

Pacifica Senior Living needed to hire more people to care for the people that stayed there. The residents have this panic, but did not have a button that they can wear on the wrist. They need to upgrade that system because it wasn’t working that great. The advice they had to get in and out of the main door was inoperable. I didn’t think it was a very good facility. He had an incident where he fell and they failed to let the family know that he had a fall; two weeks later we discovered he had a fall. He had symptoms to emergency. I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody. They don’t have enough staff on duty, and they were shorthanded at the time. I don’t know if they resolved this issue, but I have discussed it with them if they’re going to take care of it. However, they had some really nice facilities, and the staff was cordial; they weren’t rude.

My friend is in Pacifica. She’s in the memory care unit at night but in assisted living during the day. It’s a nice place. They have a beauty shop there, nice food, and a lot of retired teachers. She is a retired teacher too, so she has a lot in common with a lot of the people who live there. They have Happy Hour, trivia games that they play with the residents, music, entertainment, and movies. They have very nice accommodations.

I immediately liked Pacifica Senior Living Union City because the receptionist was friendly and nice. The place was bright and cheerful looking. All of the residents were decorating the place for Valentine's Day, so there were hearts all over the place. There are physical activities done with the memory care patients and always something going on for all of the residents, like arts and crafts. There are residents in walkers and wheelchairs, but they are always doing something, too. The furnishings at this facility looked new and were nice pieces of furniture. They are doing a good job taking care of my husband.

I liked many things about Pacifica Senior Living Union City, including the size, the friendliness of the staff, and the good food. I really liked Robin, the marketing/sales guy. He was very personable and future-oriented. I also liked the price; it’s the most reasonable price among all that I have visited. I like its location, which is just across the street from a high school, so they get volunteers. I also like that it is close to grocery stores and restaurants.

My Mom stayed here at Pacifica for 3 weeks respite care. She has short term memory issues and is a little unstable on her feet ("walker dpendent"). It is important that she has a lot of social stimulation and time-place orientation every day. They promised they would look after her and provide for her needs while I was out of town. THEY DID! I can tell when Mom hasn't been getting the social interaction she needs because her mind is more dull and her spirits are low. When I picked her up to bring her back home, she was perky, in good spirits, and as agile as she can be. Clothes and person clean. No clothes were lost, no injuries sustained. Staff is just great (I'm a former Director of Nurses of a SNF so have a very high bar for them to meet). Her apt. was clean and new, really nice. The meals were tasty and of good variety. The activities were varied. Staff ensured Mom attended all they had (per our request). And while I was gone, they texted me pictures of her (I gave prior permission) and I texted pictures of me back to them so they could show her. - If I need respite again, I would definitely want Mom here. Top marks for this facility in my experience.

Pacifica Senior Living was nice, gorgeous, and huge. It’s next to the senior center, and the library is across the street. They gave us lunch; I talked to the chef and the people in the kitchen, and the people liked the food. We had some residents come up to our table and talk to us; they were very happy and very independent living there. It’s just very costly. They said they’d have to have 2 people because my dad weighs 260 lbs to lift him up, and then it was going to be about $7,000 a month; who has $7000 a month? The rooms are very nice and adequate for what they need. They had a whole calendar full of things. I like the staff; they’re very good. I talked to some people who came to visit their parents; their parents love it, and they’re very grateful that their parents are there.
