My father was at Temecula Healthcare Center. The people working there were very cordial and caring with my dad. The part we didn't like was we literally put him in a single room, but then they moved him into a smaller double room. The CNAs were very personable. They call my father by name and they talk to him. They treat him as a human, and not just another person. The nurses were very cordial and responsible. They made sure he got his meds. It was a fairly new building. They had somebody cleaning the floors every day. Sometimes, things will be missing, so I took a lot of his valuables home with me. Overall, the place was very clean and very well organized. They had several courtyards that had benches, but some didn't. They were nice, but they could have been nicer if there were more planters and flowers.

My mother was admitted for rehab/PT/OT after a hospital stay. She was there approximately 3 weeks. During that time I was only able to reach her twice due to the fact that nurses would not pick up the phone at the nurse’s station, calls I made to the facility were disconnected during transfer, some calls were never transferred at all, just hung up on, voicemails left were never, ever returned. Just trying to find out her condition, I was lied to and told she was “resting comfortably, not needing anything”, and “doing great,” but “unable to talk right now”. Promises they would help her call me back the following day were simply lies! My mother told me she was freezing and asked for a blanket but was told “you already have a cover.” She used the call button while I was waiting on the phone with her and gave up after 20 minutes - no one came to help her. The food was unappetizing. Patients don’t get better if they don’t want to eat it. I was encouraged to contact the facility administrator with concerns. Despite 3 attempts (1st a promise for call back, 2nd a voicemail left, 3rd text message left), they didn’t care to even contact me back. I think I probably was hung up on while trying to reach someone at the facility at least 20 times. I left about 6 voice messages. Zero response. This is totally unacceptable. Personally I believe they would not transfer me my mother’s room so that I could not hear how poorly she was doing. She was in great pain and we were told she had refused all pain meds. The only time I managed to briefly connect with her, I asked her about this and she told me she was never offered any. By 6 days in the facility, she sounded weak and had trouble talking. 10 days later she sounded awful . I could barely hear the words she spoke and could clearly hear the pain/discomfort/physical deterioration in her voice. 3 days before discharge she sounded like she was barely hanging on. She held out hope she would get discharged and leave the facility. She should have been taken back to hospital. A day after discharge she died. This facility hastened her demise. She was there to gain strength and rehab with PT and OT, not to get worse and weaker. The nursing supervisor lied to me about her condition. Something should have been done sooner. I was only able to communicate with her those 3 times in 3 weeks! Don’t put a loved one here unless you plan to visit daily to monitor their condition. I was told they showered her every few days. Nope! They never got her out of bed in 3 weeks! BTW I still have never been able to talk to the “administrator”. I made sure they had my contact information. It was all ignored. They simply don’t care about the patients, or their families, but want that almighty dollar. Our mistake by using this facility took a wonderful family member from us permanently.

My mother had an incredible stay here. She had extensive stay at the hospital and we were worried about where she would go next. The social services staff helped put our mind at ease as we weighed several options. Our case worker let us call him with our concerns any time of day! The dietary supervisor helped us feel at ease regarding my mother's recent weight loss. Overall, the staff really demonstrated true empathy and I would recommend Temecula Healthcare Center if you want peace of mind for your loved ones.

My sister has been at Temecula Healthcare Center for two weeks now. It's a great facility. She's doing pretty good, and they're doing a great job. She has a room she's sharing with another lady, but the room is clean. The entire place is really clean. The people are nice. She's been happy with it. It's a fairly new place, and it's probably one of the nicest rehab places I've seen. They have a lot of different weight machines. They have electrical machines that use your legs and your arms. They have an exercise room and they have nice hallways that she walks with her walker. She's been doing watercolor drawings in her room. They have a speech therapist come in and they have a lady that comes in and does exercises with her. So, they're really on top of it. I can say nothing negative about the place, although they are a little slow in discharging, maybe because of the holiday. The lobby is really beautiful. They do require right now a COVID test every three days for someone visiting. I've taken two COVID tests since she's been there, and that's good that they're doing that. They require masks. I tried getting a hold of the caseworker a few times, and I wasn't able to get in contact with them. I don't know if it's because of the holidays or what, but I've left some messages and I haven't heard from them. So that, right now, is a little bit lacking.

My sister was at Temecula Healthcare Center. I don't think that it was a good facility because she went from the hospital to a nursing skilled care facility and ended up having to go back to the emergency room because they weren't caring for her properly. She was there for three weeks. I think that they didn't properly examine the situation. The hospital gave them black and white paperwork stating the concerns and what are the needs of the patient. I think that they didn't properly review what was entailed in the care of my sister. They accepted her and didn't provide total care in regard to all of the issues that she had. They weren't efficiently responsive to the needs that needed to be met and the concerns. For example, a nurse looked at one of her wounds and said that she didn't have any wounds that needed to be tended to. She came in there having wounds and how can you look at her and say that she doesn't have anything that needs to be tended to? It doesn't make any sense. I feel if they weren't going to be able to fulfill all of the patient's needs, then they didn't need to admit her or accept her into their facility. The food was 50-50. My sister told me it was like 50% tolerable. Her room wasn't spacious, but there were two people in the room. It was a very minimal space with the bed and the dresser. There was only enough space for two beds. Patients could only have one visitor at a time. It wasn't compatible for both of the patients to have a visitor at a time. If we had to pay for it out of pocket, I would be very upset, but her insurance paid for it. They should evaluate the patients' full needs before accepting them into the facility.
