Wonderful and caring staff. Great food. Felt that my husband received great care in a timely manner. If we ever need post hospital care again we would go back to Manor Care. They need to take better care of the gardens and wash their windows.

My mother was send here for wound care when the pandemic started. She had bedsores and the home cares were short on nurses. They did not care for her. All they did was do covid tests on her. They told me her wounds are healing but every time I went to visit she looked worse and worse. Finally I asked them to send her to the emergency room. That is when they told me that her wound was worse. My mother died in the hospital a few days later

I had rehab for 10 days at Manorcare Health Services. When you go into the main door there's somebody at the desk if you need help, and there's a sitting area to the right, and further to the right, there's a room with coffee and tea and you can get that anytime you want. To the left, you get to the section with the little more upscale rooms, and to the right will be the area that's a little less expensive. I chose to be in the better area and opted for a private room. The staff was wonderful, very kind and helpful. I like the staff a lot. The nurses and aides were very accommodating. The problem I ran into was they loaded all the trays onto a cart and brought them to the rooms, and I felt that the food was just lukewarm and not hot. I told them about it and they told me they can have my food held in the kitchen until I was ready for it and they can go get it and bring it to me, which they did, and that worked out wonderfully well. The food that was supposed to be hot was hot, and the food that was supposed to be cold was cold, and the food was very tasty. They have quite a few activities, one being going to a large room where you can have wine and snacks, as well as arts and crafts.

I had great care for the week I was recovering after a hospital stay. I was given lots of attention from compassionate nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, and social workers. I left after just 6 days stronger and more balanced on my feet due to the knowledgeable and attentive programs and staff. It was wonderful to have my own private room complete with a private shower looking out over the beautiful grounds.

My mother-in-law went to Manorcare. It's a great place. The decorating feels a little old, but other than that, they're really good there. It was really nice, and they took good care of her. She didn't like the food. They had some activities, but she didn't really participate in much. Her room was OK. However, the decor was pretty outdated and old. They have a lounge, but nobody was ever in it. They also have a physical therapy room. I didn't see a cafeteria.

My father was just admitted to Manorcare Health Services in Sunnyvale. I was appalled by the less than professional service of the phone staff. Evidently, the operator leaves every day at 6:30pm PST and there is no one on staff designated to answer the phone. I let the phone ring at least 15 times both times I called and was given the run around as to why no one answered the phone. There is no excuse for this especially when relatives need to contact patients at the facility. I suggest that the situation be remedied immediately.

My grandmother was a resident at this facility for a short time to recover from a surgery. Her husband, my grandfather, was a resident for a long time (that is why my grandmother stayed here for her recovery) and eventually passed away here. He became a resident originally because he was very weak and my grandmother could not care for him. In addition, he was having other physical and mental health issues (dementia). We hoped that he would get strong enough, from the physical therapy, to live at home again, but that did not happen. The facility seems clean and tidy. The staff were mainly very nice and helpful. The place definitely has an odd and distinctive smell, but it's not awful. I mostly know about the dining facilities and food, since I usually visited for mealtimes. I would not give high ratings for the food. For example, for a while, my grandfather could not eat food that required a lot of chewing. So instead of serving him a salad of iceberg lettuce, they gave him pureed iceberg lettuce. I don't understand why they're even serving the regular iceberg salad, since it has almost no nutritional value, and it was difficult enough as it was for my grandfather to eat enough food. It seems that nutrition at this facility could be much improved.

My experience with this facility was very positive. The only negative was that my relative had to share a room. She really didn't have adequate room to keep her belongings. However, I'm sure that if the family was willing to pay more, she could have had her own room. The facility had a few different levels of assistance - ranging from relatively independent assisted living in apartments to full nursing care facilites. My relative was in the nursing care part. The facility was very clean, but it didn't have the common nursing home odor. The nurses and other staff members were attentive and helpful. They appeared to genuinely care about the patients/residents. They always seemed to treat the residents with care and a level of dignity and curtesy, and not just as a job to be dealt with. The staff members we spoke with were fluent in English which made communication much easier than in some other facilites I have visited. We were always able to find an attendant if we had any questions. We were kept up to date on my relative's medical care - any updates or concerns were given or addressed. They also had activities such as bingo, singing, etc. to keep the residents/patients engaged in life. In addition, they offered personal services, such as salon services for the residents at additional cost. The facility was well-kept, and relatively modern. It was also nice that we were always able to find a semi-private lounge area if several of our family members were visiting at once. We were able to bring food and other items in to enjoy with our resident relative and with each other. There was also a nice outside area for visiting. Overall, assisted living and especially nursing home facilities are usually not very pleasant places to visit. This facility, however, was just about as pleasant as such a place can be.

This facility offers skilled nursing and rehab services. It's set off of a main street in Sunnyvale, in a residential neighborhood"”and parking is horrible; you often have to circle and park several blocks away. Most staff members are forthcoming, but only after they're pried a little for information. They do hold regular care conferences for the residents, but are not necessarily forthcoming with information outside of that. The place itself is clean"”and offers physical therapy inhouse. Although the hallways give the place a rather institutional feel, the rooms look much like homey bedrooms. Residents are encouraged to decorate them to add their own personal touches. There is an RN on staff 24/7, but at times, it doesn't seem like an adequate number of staff members to provide good care and safety. The food is average"”and lacks options for those who request them. And there are activities offered, especially for the rehabilitation patients, but not much to engage the skilled nursing residents beyond occasional music therapy. One of my residents was deep into Alzheimer's and she lived in terror. The staff was responsive, at least after prompting by a concerned family member. Another younger resident was treated well"”given Internet access and a cellphone, but again, there was an outside advocate involved in requesting them. This might not be a good fit for someone who needs 24-hour supervision, such as behavioral problems, since the staff ratio seems somewhat lacking. Manorcare accepts Medi-Cal and Medicare. Otherwise, the cost is average for the area"”about $6,000 to $8,00 monthly.
