Wild Rose was originally recommended to us for our Mom 93 years old, by her health provider. Our initial impression was not great because of the poor landscaping and landscape maintenance as we arrived for the first visit. But as it turns out, that would be the least of our problems. When my sister (her daughter) arrived for a recent visit, she realized through conversation and observation that Mom had so little exercise she almost could not walk anymore, even with the use of her walker. The first “major” problem we had was Mom leaving the facility with the use of her walker without anybody knowing it. The alarm system is either broken or not set up to know when someone goes in or out. A neighbor down the road found Mom walking in the dark, with her walker and called for police assistance. By time the police and my sister, who lives fairly close, got Mom back to the facility, the staff didn’t even know she was gone. From that time until we removed her, she pretty much was left in her bed, no exercise. The next “major” problem was when my sister went for a visit and had trouble getting Mom to set up for a walk and noticed severe bruising on both arms. She immediately removed her and took her to the hospital for help. When the hospital examined her they found dried feces, that they said was not new from the back of her knees to the middle of her back. They also found the bruises so bad they (hospital) called the Elderly Protective Services and the police. The police did a full report and photographed her condition. The investigation is ongoing. We went back Wild Rose and removed all Mom’s stuff. In the meanwhile, Wild Rose has sent us a bill for the time not already paid for, for not giving them a 30 day notice, prior to Mom leaving. I’m happy to say our Mom is in a good facility, walking, clean and having decent meals. I would NOT recommend Wild Rose and feel they should not be allowed to do any business that involves the elderly. Just heart breaking.
