Golden Living Center seems to be an OK nursing home. It's clean enough. From the little interaction I had with the staff, they seemed OK. It looks like they have a pretty full schedule of activities. When I was there, they were handing activity sheets out.

In November 2010, my 38-year-old cousin was involved in a very serious vehicle accident which law enforcement and emergency responders claimed should have ended his life - yet he survived. After multiple surgeries - quite literally from head to toe - at multiple hospitals, it was clear that significant rehabilitation would be needed. My cousin's myriad of injuries required physical, occupational, speech as well as mental/emotional therapy. No one in our family was equipped to provide the constant care needed, and that's when we began our search for a facility that could help. After visiting at least 8 different skilled nursing / assisted living facilities within a 20-mile radius, there was one that met our needs - that one was Golden Living Center. My cousin spent several months at Golden where he re-gained mobility skills with the aid of a wheelchair and walker, improved his speech, and re-gained enough strength to leave the facility and return to independent living. No one in their late 30's should have to live in a care facility, but if unforeseen circumstances necessitate, Golden offered a refuge when one was needed. Though my cousin was certainly one of - if not the youngest - resident during his stay, if you have a loved one in need, this facility is worth considering.
