I visited Valley Village Retirement Community. It was the most affordable one. I think it's $1900 for a little apartment with three meals a day and one weekly housekeeping. They have a little clinic where you can go every day and have them help you take your medicine and take your blood pressure, just kind of like the basics. Valley Village serves three meals a day, except on Sundays when they serve two meals. My father-in-law is renting a room on the 5th floor. The place is decent; it's an old building, but it's affordable, and it's close by. They don't have the best amenities, but it works for us. There were some issues when they refused to turn on the AC even though it was a really hot day. The food is good, they have a salad bar, and they have a lot of different activities. The residents seem nice.
