I found The Villa at San Mateo. I like it. There are four or five staff members there, and they're fine. They're great, even though I don't have much interaction with them. They have activities all the time, but I just don't have time to engage in those activities. They have like movies, parties, exercise, trips, and all kinds of stuff. What I like best about this place is that it is clean, neat, and centrally located. In fact, I already have recommended this facility to others.

Villa at San Mateo is only independent living. The staff was very helpful and informative. The common areas were all very spacious lots. There was a nice library and a nice meeting area, several small ballroom type places where they show movies and things, and they have a facility for parties. It was a very nice looking place. I saw a small group of neighbors gathered in one of the common areas.

We liked the location of The Villa, and the flexibility of the terms of the lease. It was a little antiquated in style. They have conference rooms, game rooms, and a small swimming pool as well. They seem to have a full-time activities coordinator, and they have organized activities from time to time. The 1-bedroom we saw was functional. The staff was very knowledgeable, very dedicated, and very involved in the day-to-day operations.

My Mom likes Villa at San Mateo. My brother and sister and I liked it also, but the cost is a problem. We're kind of going back and forth on the cost, but we really liked that community. That would be her number one choice. The staff was very nice and informative and so was the person who conducted the tour. We're happy with it. They have a lot of senior activities. They have a library, a pool, a movie room, an entertainment section, Bingo, meetings, birthday celebrations, and other celebrations to get everybody togethe. It just seemed like a really good spot. The rooms were very nice and roomy and the bathrooms are roomy enough to put her chair down. Since she is in a walker, she likes to get out of the tub with a chair. They have their own kitchen in the apartments. She still wants to cook and they have that available.

Villa at San Mateo was a nice place. It was clean, neat, and kept up with. They showed us around. They have a room, which is basically a place to stay, and if you want meals, you can buy meals at their restaurant. There was no housekeeping, and there were no furnishings. They were cordial. They have a few programs where they take people out or do a few things in the facility, like watch movies or play Bingo. Some of the tenants or residents hang out in the rooms they have there, do things, work out, do hobbies, or read books in the library. It's favorable.
