The facility is kept very very clean. There are NO bugs. The food is really good, considering that they have to deal with all kinds of eating arrangements they make really good food. The nurses are attentive and caring. I am glad that this is the nursing facility I was sent too.

Friend of a friend This place is a dump. Little to no safety and security. Patients sitting around soiled and dirty, hanging out of wheelchairs right in front of the nurse's station! The person I was visiting rang for help before we got there. No one showed up the entire hour I was there to help the patient. The staff seemed bored and lacked concern. Most looked like they could care less about anything and could barely crack a smile. I wouldn't want them caring for my loved ones.

Do not take your loved one to this facility. I have never seen the amount of incompetence from a health care staff than the staff at this facility. Even after numerous complaints and speaking to their directors of nursing many times, corrections are not made and more and more things continue to go wrong. Since our loved one has been in this facility they are on their fifth director of nursing. We even watched, as one director walked out and quit on the spot because of all the mistakes and complaints. She was there for less than 2 weeks. Our loved one is here because we cannot offer the constant care she needs on the daily basis with work, kids, and life happening in general. However, we have to be there every single day just to make sure the medications are administered and administered correctly, the right doses are given as often they are not, the food trays are indeed diabetic trays, we have to make sure vitals are taken and logged, make sure she bathes or we do it ourselves, and have her bedding changed. Simple hygiene is not provided consistently. Call buttons are never answered. Beds and wheelchairs do not have locking mechanisms that work, thus our loved one has fallen several times as the bed or wheelchair slip out when she tries to stand or transfer. Even orders from the her doctors are ignored when we take her to her appointments. Simple things like providing a BP and sugar log are not provided, even when specifically asked for by her physicians. When providing a list of medications, every single time, this list will be incomplete. If you ever try making a phone call to a specific nursing station, do not expect to reach your desired station as calls normally go unanswered after the receptionist transfers you. Do not take your loved one here if you want them cared for properly.

Point Loma was no good because when I checked it, the patients were sitting in their chairs and they were not doing therapy with the patients. The nurses were not too good. Their nurses need to talk and connect with the patients. They should know what's going on with their patients. The nurses were sitting all day in their room writing, and they were not checking the patients. Poor patients! There was no room for the patients for physical therapy. There were no rooms for games or TV.

From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile and a warm feeling of compassion. The staff is professional and well trained. They seem to really care and go above and beyond to give amazing therapy. They’re goal is to get you back on your feet so you can return home. The facility is clean and well maintained very nicely decorated. They have OT/PT that work hard to keep them motivated and engaged. There are plenty of activities and events to keep them from becoming isolated and feeling alone. There is no room here for anyone to become lonely. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure that does not happen. I would recommend this place for my loved one. Call for a tour you will not be sorry.

Overall, I was very happy with how my relative was treated. She was happy with the food served, and had plenty of activities to participate in. The staff were friendly and pleasant, and always greeted me with a smile. The bathrooms and showers were well designed for an elderly person, such as they were easy to get in and out of. Some of the activities/entertainment provided for the folks staying their included bingo, shuffleboard, knitting, a library/reading room, and karaoke. The staff regularly phoned me whenever my relative was sick to inform me of any new or current status. I especially appreciated this service at a time when she came down with pneumonia. On top of all this, they provided regular church services for the faithful. I was very happy with the care that took place, and recommended the convalescent home to an aging neighbor of mine, who has also been very happy there. In closing, they certainly treat the elderly with dignity.
