My mom is now at Jasmin Terrace at El Molino. We chose this place because it's more affordable. They're meeting all my mom's needs. It's an assisted living facility and they help her with everything that she can't do for herself, like combing her hair and taking her medicines because she has Parkinson's. So far, the staff members are nice and courteous. They have movies and crafts. The dining room is set up pretty nice. It's a big area with tables and you can also go in and have dinner with your family member when Covid is gone.

The food at Jasmin Terrace at El Molino was awful. I went to eat a meal and it was so bad I took one bite and couldn't eat it. My partner at the time forced himself to eat it. My aunt and uncle were both there, so I would visit my aunt quite often. It was not that clean and I found the staff to be very like gruff. One man even started yelling. My aunt was sitting in an air-conditioned room with no sweater, she was unable to speak and unable to move and I touched her skin, and it was cold. It wasn't the best care. At that place, I saw seniors everywhere you turned, in every little room you would see seniors sitting in the TV room, the dining room, a little light exercise room where they were sitting doing exercises. They had several rooms for them to sit in, but the furniture was old. They weren't fresh smelling. The carpet was kind of gross. They did have a beautiful bird aviary in the middle of the garden, which was amazing. But then they took out all the birds for some reason. The garden was nice in the middle. It was not your top-notch place. I heard seniors screaming; there was a lot of screaming. The wings were not separate let's say that. The memory care and the other assisted living were not separate, they were all together. One woman was screaming, and another man was pulling his pants down constantly. I would never have a loved one there, never, never.

My wife is a resident of Jasmin Terrace at El Molino. They have a lot to offer for a resident who needs help with dementia. She has a roommate. They have a couple of TV rooms and music every night for two hours that sometimes goes on until 9:00. I don't know where they get these people who play music; most of them are pretty good. They play a lot of songs from the '60s and '70s and a lot of people are really going for it. The fact that there's an awful lot of attention going on is actually good for her. I like the location, but when you go there on Fridays or Wednesdays, it's hard to park, specially for disabled people like me. It's a little expensive, but I like the staff and the place itself. There's no smell, and they go out of their way to keep their residents happy.
