My girlfriend lives at Blossom Vale Senior Living, so I know the place very well. I like the meals and the close community thing. One thing I don't like now is since the new owners took over, the prices have gone up over $1,000, so I can't afford that. It's a nice community. They provide meals. They do your laundry once a week. They do cleaning of the rooms once a week. They have a workout room. They have different activities during the week, like bingo or different things to watch if you want. They have happy hour with live entertainment. The staff is good. The food is good. The dining room and the food setup are nice, and they have quite a variety. They take care of the place. She's paying quite a bit less because she's been there several years. She's happy there.

I am looking at choosing Blossom Vale Senior Living for my parents. It was an excellent place. Natalie was the one that toured us, and she was very good at her job. She could answer all the questions. And also, my in-laws are moving in there as well, so it worked out well. We went back with my in-laws and we had dinner there, and it was really good. We started with a studio. It was an extra large studio with a separate bedroom. So, that was nice. We saw the one-bedroom apartment and it was a very nice size, and then the two-bedroom was like a small apartment. It was very nice. They had the pull cords and they had small kitchens, but with everything in it. The courtyard was very pretty. The dining facility was very nice. They had a beauty salon, a theater, and a library. They had special events, like every Tuesday, they have Taco Tuesday and margaritas. It just makes it fun for the residents.

We toured both assisted and independent living here. The tour was really good. The available rooms seemed like they had more square footage. So, it was a little bit more spacious. They were kind, too. It was interesting because they had a full kitchen, a small apartment size stove with burners and even a little oven. I kind of liked that. The people were very, very nice, very accommodating. They had different activities going on. We also liked the idea that there was a Wal-Mart that was walking distance from this place. They're completely remodeling the whole thing. So, it's quite nice. A lot of it is brand new and remodeled. They allowed pets, but the difficult part was, that although it was a very big place, there just wasn't much outside.

It is a little farther from her doctor than I think my friend would like to be. The person who normally does the tour was busy, and the receptionist said, "I can show you one of the apartments," so to be fair, I didn't do a full tour. The receptionist took me over really quickly, and I just looked at the two-bedroom. The apartment seemed to be very nice. They were just renovating it, so it was kind of new. Right outside the dining room, they had an exercise class in progress.
