My dad was at the Terraces of Los Gatos. My dad comments he hasn't been that comfortable in a long time. He enjoyed this facility. Their food service and staff were great. He had no complaints at all. He was in a shared room at this facility. They did well with my dad's care. My dad was more inclined to and encouraged to work on his own as far as getting around the facility. He also had physical therapy. It wasn't as intensive as it was at the other facility. The facility was very clean. They have a rec room, an outdoor patio, a dining hall, and all of which my dad took advantage of. They do have a salon. He also was able to do puzzles. They had a Valentine's Day dance while he was there. They do keep their folks busy. I think they are a little more on the pricey end.

We visited The Terraces of Los Gatos, and it was an excellent place. The staff members were very friendly. The residents were very friendly. The facility was top of the line. My only concern about this place is that it has a different financial structure that requires a large buy-in. That is perfectly fine, but won't be appropriate for our people. The layout seems very good. What's particularly nice about it is that it's just a few steps away from the King's Court Shopping Center, which has got all sorts of useful vendors. They have Peet's Coffee, Norris Market, and a little Mexican restaurant. It is probably the best location of all the places we visited because of that.

Terraces of Los Gatos was very professional and impressive, as should be expected for $15,000 a month. It's not cheap, so I would expect it to be pretty well laid out. The staff members were great, and they were very cautious, as I came in with a friend whose parent is there. It was very nice, clean, and pretty new. It's a great and beautiful location, and Los Gatos is a great place and safe for seniors if they need to walk around. The room is like a hospital room, but it is a lockdown facility, so it isn't very personal.

We visited The Terraces, and it’s a very pleasant, clean place. The units were small for one have to pay on a monthly basis. It’s a story, and it had a feel of like a nice hotel with plants in between the building. They have an outdoor swimming pool and a small gym, and the equipment looked good.

Terraces is a life care community, and the minimum entrance fee was $486,000. The presumed advantage was they have assisted living, independent living, memory care, and facility for skilled nursing. However, there was also a hefty monthly charge, and if you need assisted living or skilled nursing, you have to move to a different part of the campus and pay for an additional unit. It seemed that financially, it didn’t make a lot of sense. The thing that was good was it’s a lovely facility, and the apartments were exquisite. But, they had a waiting list of one year.

I liked The Terraces because it’s clean, neat, and well kept-up. The people who work there are very friendly and go out of their way to help you. The people living there talk about the place and how wonderful it is. They’re very generous with their time. It was not so far away, so we still have our friends. That would have been my first choice. Also, pets are welcome.

I had friends over in the Terraces. My friend took me around there and showed me. The place is very clean and very modern. They had two dining rooms with linen table cloths. My friend who was staying said that if she had colds or something, they would bring her food to her apartment. She had a very small kitchen, so she could make herself breakfast or a sandwich or something like that. They had a facility to take care of people medically. They had a library. They had a little stage area where people could perform. Some of the units had a garage. I knew it cost more, or you could part on the general facility.

Terraces of Los Gatos was the best that we saw. You don't pay an upfront amount, and you only pay on a monthly basis. When you run out of money, then you have to leave the place. We looked for cottages because we don't like the apartment-style atmosphere. This place had what we wanted -- a long-term care from independent living all the way to memory care. It was a very good place compared to all the others we've seen. It's a good middle-class environment.

Thank you for your kind words, Sandra. At The Terraces of Los Gatos we strive to provide an atmosphere where seniors are able to thrive at every level of living. While the higher levels of living from assisted living, memory support to skilled nursing, offer a month to month contract, our residential living offers an entrance fee type of contract. We are happy to discuss these various options with you further and would love to invite you to enjoy a meal at the community. You can give me a call directly. Sincerely, Tyler Ichien, Executive Director

Everything was very nice about the Terraces. The only thing wrong was that they didn't have enough of the little single houses. It's very well run, and I was treated very nicely. I like them. I looked at a lot of places, and it certainly is the top.

I really like The Terraces as well, but they have a very small memory care unit, and they were already filled up. They have a brand new memory care unit, and it is a very nice facility. We'll try to go for it if they have space, but I don't think they will have space for quite some time. The rooms are very big with a big walk-in bathroom. It is very organized because everything is in the middle. So all the rooms faced to a big central open area where they have the nursing facility and the kitchen. This is where they do all the activities. We saw some exercise activities going on when we were there. They have an OK patio area. It is very nice and very low landscape although not that big. They also have other grounds, so if I was to visit mom we could take her around. It is a very nice place.

The Terraces provided everything my mother (and we) needed during a difficult time, and more. Having toured numerous facilities that were adequate but dismal and depressing, The Terraces offered more than a breath of fresh air. My mother recuperated there for 11 weeks after difficult surgeries, and was cared for better than we could have hoped - the staff was knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and caring. The facility is beautifully kept, clean, fresh and well-appointed with pleasant outdoor areas, and the dining rooms and food exceeded all expectations, but more importantly the residents were equally well-kept! Even in the skilled nursing area, most were up and dressed during the day, and participating in many provided activities. The Kaiser doctor on staff, Alice, was a Godsend, and Marguerite, the resident beautician, a delight. Most all the staff were truly dedicated to the well-being of the residents, and my mother recovered beautifully. We would highly recommend this facility.

I visited The Terraces, and right now, it is for my sister, who is legally blind. It is very nice. We were impressed with the staff and the facilities and what they had to offer people. The rooms were good. It was a bit spacious and they were satisfactory. I ate at their cafeteria and I had lunch there. It was very good. We checked out their swimming pool. They have a small gymnasium for people who like to work out, and that was something my sister was interested in doing. We looked at some of the outings that they have. It's nice to see that they had some of these things that would take people out into the community for shopping and mini vacations. It just had a very friendly, comfortable, warm atmosphere. It wasn't all that we wanted, but it was pretty nice.

The Terraces at Los Gatos came highly recommended by our friends who were residents of the facility. We also chose it for my husband because it's near us. The staff's work attitude has been very good. The night shift might have been a little less, but for the rest it was good. I can't really complain about anything. It's a very pleasant place. The building is really nice. The people are sophisticated. It's a nice group of people there. It's very clean and very pleasant to walk around. It has a very open feeling.

We have known about Terraces of Los Gatos for quite a long time. We have had invitation to come over and visit them and see their facility. They were nice. They are located not too far from where we live and we like it. It is close to a lot of small shopping areas and it is not too far from my daughters. We sat in the dining room with the bunch of other people and they had some kind of refreshments. They had an exercise place but there wasn't anybody exercising there. What I like best about Terraces of Los Gatos is that it was a very clean facility and the people were friendly.

A friend of ours who is living at The Terraces of Los Gatos invited us to the facility. We like the idea that they had swimming pool. I was not able to get to know the activities there very well, and I think I need to ask about those and know what they are. I think this is quite an expensive place. My friend's room is very pretty, and she brought her own furniture. We had lunch there, and the food was very nice.
