I'm going to preference this review by saying caring for psych patients is HARD, EXHAUSTING WORK. I have a family member who is in their psych unit. I've found the social workers and staff to be responsive to all of my inquiries and genuinely concerned for the health, welfare and general living conditions of my family member. The facility has activities for the residents on a regular basis As with many facilities the food isn't 5 star, but we must keep in mind this is a hospital, not a resort. That being said, I do wish they would use more quality ingredients with more variety for those clients who can enjoy a more varied menu. The facility buildings are old, the maintenance staff does the best they can with what they have to work with. I suspect the owners of the facility are dealing with a limited amount of funding with what SSA and private insurance pay (plus they have to make a profit) and the general cost of healthcare rising exponentially. It has been my experience, if you want your loved one to receive good care, you have to be an involved participant in that care. Be vocal, courteous, and be relational.

I went last week to visit my Dad and I was so upset at what he looked like the bed sores on his bodyHe was so skinny.and smelled the whole place.Dirty and stinky even a man in the front looked dead. The nurse said my dad was good and answerd all my questions what I wanted to hear. But I can see she made it up and the conditions are horrible and very unsanitary and disgusting. But my hands are tied for now.Meanwhile I will report them to the authorities. Please if you love your family report them also.

Glendora Grand was an older looking facility, but it was clean and well kept. I did not like it because there are a lot of patients wandering around unsupervised during the day. The staff was nice and professional.
