We chose Glendora Canyon Transitional Care Unit for my loved one because they could take care of his needs. The residents seem to be happy. They are interacting even if they're just sitting out in a wheelchair near the nursing center so they could be a part of activities. They keep everybody clean and receptive to that. It is a bit of a challenge when they get new residents, but they try to learn and meet the needs of that person. I think the administrator is always open. He responds, even on the weekends, if I text him. They had a care management meeting within 48 hours of my loved one's arrival where all of the heads of each of the departments came and explained to us how they tailored to meet his needs from the nursing care to the rehab care (both occupational and physical therapy) and the goals that they had set. Culinary was there to talk about his diet and the activity person was there to talk about how they were trying to stimulate his mind and also to get him engaged with other people. You can tell the staff and the administrators are engaged and that they work hard. His appetite is increasing. He's eating anywhere from 50% to 75% of his food. It is an older facility and so just the fact that it needs some upgrades, that kind of puts the facility a little lower. However, they are keeping it very clean, considering it's older. They mentioned they're going to try to do a facelift. If they don't do the facelift but they're taking care of the residents, it's better for me that they're taking care of the residents.

The care they gave my father was very poor. He developed a stage 2 bedsore while there. The food was terrible. They gave them nothing but sandwiches for lunch and dinner. H was sent home seriously ill and tested positive for Covid!!!! When I brought the Covid infection to the facility manager, he never responded to me. I do not recommend this facility. .
