My husband is at Lincoln Villa. The place is clean. He is dressed every day and put in a wheelchair to take him to a large room where most of the people are. It is a typical rest home.

My mom was in Lincoln Villa for a while, but I would not recommend them. The facility is old, rundown, and that was not a good place for my mother. They weren't as assisting as could be, it was a bigger place, and they were taking care of a lot of people with health issues. I think they were short staffed, they seemed really friendly, but my mom complained the whole time she was there. She had a shared room with a dresser, a bed, a bathroom, and they did her laundry for her. It wasn't as clean or nice as other places, and it was rundown. The family could not visit easily because there wasn't a place to sit. They had people come in and play music, they had a big TV in the common room, and they had arts and crafts.

Lincoln Villa was not bad. It’s organized with nurses standing by and felt a little bit like a hospital. There’s a common room, and the seniors were sitting there watching TV. It’s like a nursing facility but clean.

We went and looked at Lincoln Villa. I didn’t care for some of the setup like two people in a room sharing a dresser and a closet. The staff seemed competent and fine. The location was really well. We just didn’t care for the actual facility. And the staff seemed nice, but we didn’t care for the facility as much. We looked at the dining area, and it seemed fine. We didn’t feel the place would be a very good fit for my mom. They didn’t seem to have too many activities. They need to update their facility.

Very horrible and inconsiderate caregivers who does not care for my father at all. My father is currently under hospice care, as the staff in the facility was urging me to decline hospice and pain management and let my father suffer instead.

My grandmother has lived here for the past six months since her dementia has progressed, and the place is reasonable enough. It is not as nice as some retirement homes, but it is reasonably priced, in a decent area, and comfortable for the residents. There is a nice dining area, and a large common area with a TV, books, and couches, though most of the residents use wheelchairs. There are plenty of activities provided to the residents, including things from bingo to kickball. Because the location is in an area with many downtown shops and stores nearby, the residents often get an opportunity to go out with friends and family members. The only complaint I do have is that the retirement home seems understaffed at times, with many people going from job to job or doing several things at once. However, the staff who I have met have been very nice, caring, and cordial to residents and visitors alike, which is a plus.

This facility is small and not as fancy as many others, but has a warm and nice environment, not at all sterile. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood area that is close to the neighborhood of Irvington, which has some shops and restaurants. Residents are encouraged to be out of their rooms, with a lot of activities provided for them, always a full calendar. There is an outside courtyard accessible to all residents. This place is a good option for anyone because of the environment and friendly and well-trained staff, who seem to take the time to learn details about residents and their lives. Residents appear happy and interact frequently with each other and the staff. Lincoln Villa takes residents with dementia, but not in a separate unit within the facility. Rates are reasonable, at around $2,500 to $3,000 a month for basic housing and services.

This place met my Mother's needs. Lincoln Villa has been so great taking care of her. The staff always so caring and loving to all of the residents. My Mother was treated so well until she passed away this year. I remember when I first visited Lincoln Villa I was greeted with a beautiful smile by the staff, that's when I decided that this was the place that I would choose for my Mom....and I did with no regrets.

I wish there was a spot for negative stars. If you are considering putting your loved one here, please DO NOT DO IT. Call Social Services at 650 266 8800 and find out about the complaints and citations they have on file. They are VERY nice and always smile at you, but it is complete fake. They do not take care of the elderly here. They are very short staffed and always have too much to do to take care of basic care. If you file a complaint or bring things to their attention, they will either SMILE and say ok, we will take care of it (and they NEVER will take care of it) or if you file a formal complaint with the ombudsman or licensing, they will kick your loved one out or threaten to kick them out. They are running a bussiness here for money... they do NOT care at all about the seniors living here. PLEASE STAY FAR FAR away from this place. It is not fair for the elderly to be treated this poorly and have no voice and no one to stick up for them.

This place meets expectations, but upgrades are needed at this facility. My parent experienced problems with the heater (stays on, while turned off); windows/sliding doors are difficult to close; water (heat) was not working. Also, there were times when they were short staffed, so the ratio was 20:1.
