My visit at Mirabel Lodge was very nice. They have separated their residents according to health condition, which is pretty good. The landscaping outside is beautiful. There are shared and single rooms. They have activities all day long, like bands, singers, card games, movie nights, and board game nights. I also saw some dancing while I was there. They have a little Christmas pageant and Santa Claus came over. The staff members were very happy and lively people with very high energy and plenty of them there. I could not give them a perfect rating because the cost is very expensive.

My mother is in Mirabel Lodge, and it is wonderful. It is small and family-like. They care for everybody there, and the workers have worked there for a long time. Everybody was good.

Our friend was at Mirabel Lodge at the last week of her life. We were there 4 times to help her settle in and visit her at least twice after that. I found it to be impressive. There were 35 or 40 people there, and my concern is that it might have been too big. She was not happy having to leave her home, so I can't say she was happy there, but she was not happy at the other place either. I think the staff seemed to be dedicated. The ownership and management seemed to be competent and thorough. The rest of the staff I didn't interact with a whole lot, but they seemed to be on top of it most of the time. From what I heard, they had very good meals there. They did have somebody come in twice, if not, three times when I was there. They had music. A guy played guitar, and almost all the clients were in the main room listening to him play. He tried to interact with most of the residents. He seemed to know most of them. They introduced me to one or two of them while I sat there with our friend.

We found Mirabel Lodge through driving around the area. The exterior was nicely maintained and the main room was decorated and felt warm and inviting. Everyone we saw appeared to be very well taken care of. Our aunt has early Alzheimer's so we were glad that they can accommodate her situation. We were told that as their residents health changes, they can adapt to most any situation. They have many social activities and make trips to nearby regions to go shopping, visit museums, see films, theater and participate in other activities geared toward seniors. The exercise facilities were quite nice, with many options, including yoga and other classes, with some machine work available. The food was really nicely prepared with choices for many tastes and dietary concerns. The restaurant style dining area offers many delicious foods. The lunch we had was like you might find in an upscale diner. The private areas were nicely decorated and personalized for the residents and it was clear that they enjoyed their surroundings a great deal. The residents here looked very content in their living environment and were well cared for by kind and considerate staff.

I know Mirabel Lodge well, and it's just a wonderful place. This facility is in a rural area called Forestville, about 15 miles from Santa Rosa, and is beautiful. It's well kept. They've recently done some upgrading and it looks nice. They have a nice outdoor area where residents and their families can walk around. Unlike a lot of places, it's not depressing. It's very lively. They have a lot of musicians come in, and they have scheduled activities. Even though their residents are very low-functioning, they meet them at their level and keep them engaged. Not many facilities do that "“ at least not to that degree. The food is great, too. The staff are just fabulous -- very attentive and very caring. The owner and the manager know and love the residents there.-- they go around and spend time with each resident. It's not uncommon to go in and find the owners dancing with the residents or otherwise engaging with them. It's wonderful to see. This facility caters to people with severe-stage dementia. If you have a loved one who's confused but still pretty high-functioning, I wouldn't put them there. But I'd recommend them to anyone with a loved one who has advanced dementia. They work well with hospice, too. I'd put my family member there.
