This facility is the very best of it's kind. The Sisters who administer the care are the most generous souls, and the lay employees are filled with kindness. The facilities are beautiful and top-notch, with large spaces for gatherings and worship. The activities are designed to engage residents both physically and spiritually. Having had experience in dealing with other long term care facilities, I can without hesitation state that Mary Crest Manor provides families whose loved ones reside there the comfort of knowing that they are in the best hands possible. My mother has been a resident for several years. She has maintained a healthy body and mind throughout that time with the help of the Carmelite sisters and their exemplary lay employees, who always have a smile for everyone. The residents are always engaged, and efforts are made to include even the most infirm of them in activities to keep them young and vibrant. I love this place!

My grandmother has been in Marycrest Manor for about eight years now. Everything is good. She's in a nice, clean, good-sized room with a good-sized bathroom that is easily accessible. She says the food is bad. They do art and physical therapy. It's a Catholic place, so they do church. They have a beauty day where they can get their hair and nails done. The facility is clean, and it's in a really nice area. It's really bright in her room, and it's up on top of the hill. It's a nice place overall and has nice landscaping.

I will admit that I have only been to Marycrest Manor twice, so my review may not be completely accurate. However, I love Marycrest Manor, and I think it is a great nursing home. The sisters who work there are very caring and it is evident that their passions in life is to help those who are nearing the end of their lives. Most of the residents and Marycrest Manor are older women with cognitive impairments, but there are some men as well. When I have volunteered here I passed out flower to the women in their rooms. The sisters were very welcoming to my group and really appreciated the flowers. All of the women residents were very happy to see us. This facility gets a lot of volunteer visitors because of its close location to a university. Some of the residents live three to a room (with a curtain separating them) and others have private rooms too. The rooms are all very clean, and the nurses check in on all the residents regularly while they are in the rooms. There is also a nice sitting area/meeting area where the residents conjugate for mass and fun activities. Overall, I think Marycrest Manor is a wonderful facility with a warm staff and a homey and clean facility!

My great aunt resides at Marycrest Manor. She moved there in around June of 2009. Every time I come to visit, she has a smile on her face. My aunt is suffering from Alzheimer and she is very pleased with how patient and kind the nursing home staff is to her. I think that the Marycrest Manor is one of the best in Los Angeles County. The only critique I would give them is, how quickly they respond to patients. Sometimes my aunt would have to buzz for a nurse and wait 10 minutes. With people in a fragile state this could be dangerous. Other than that, I would highly recommend them to other's looking to rest in a nursing home. The nurses are very friendly, and they are always on top of their patient's needs and they are very warm and understanding. I think if the day comes that I need to be in a nursing home, I would choose Marycrest Manor.
