My mother is at Silverado Newport Mesa and overall, it's been very positive, but the initial price they gave us ended up being more. Other than that, it's a very positive place. We're very happy with it. It's very clean, they've got animals there, and it's a pretty facility. The staff is kind and patient to their residents and their families.

Silverado Newport Mesa was very nice. It was very appropriate for memory care. We spent a couple of hours there and just looked at the rooms and the facilities. It was very regimented. The staff was very kind and very engaging. She had a lot of experience with dementia and Alzheimer's. She was incredible. All the staff knew all their residents by name. The rooms were nice and the furnishings were nice. I noticed that all the residents had their food specifically prepared for them. They weren't ordering from a menu. I saw music, arts and crafts, and games. Those were the activities that were taking place while we were there, and they were all in organized, small groups.

We looked at Silverado Newport Mesa. They had a lot of attentiveness. A lot of people there, they have an intensive nurse, and it was very bustling and busy, and good for some people. The rooms were OK, they were fine, it's an older building. The staff was very good. They have more outdoor spaces than the other place I went to, they have a courtyard, and they allow pets. That was nice, but it's not for my dad. It's very expensive, but he has good long-term care insurance, so that helps. They have painting, they have music. We were there during the holidays, so they were singing Christmas songs, and if you don't want to do that you can just read the newspaper. They do a lot of customization, which was nice.

My husband was in Silverado Newport Mesa for two months. Everything seemed to be okay. I was there every single day and I did a lot of things with him. They seemed very good with him. At the beginning, I was flabbergasted at the cost, but I've learned that that's pretty much what it was. Everybody was very nice, they had a nice staff. It was so big there, and it was all memory care, but it was a very nice place. They didn't seem to be understaffed. Rarely did you need someone that they weren't there right away. They had a lot of people working there. They had a little bit of therapy, and I had a couple of people come in from the outside to help him. I felt they could've had more, but they were pretty good.

I was impressed with Silverado Senior Living - Newport Mesa. I liked the décor and I thought the staff was nice and responsive. It is one of the top facilities in my list. I liked the fact they had in-home care, so they can actually take care of your loved ones and feed them and get them involved in the activities every day, and I thought that was appealing.

My impression of Silverado Senior Living is very good. I visited this place six or seven months ago. The living environment was very good. I can see that they're a very professional and friendly staff. It seems like the medical part might be a step ahead of other places.

I went to Silverado in Costa Mesa a couple of different times. They had very friendly staff. At the time I visited, they had more patients than just Alzheimer's patients in their memory care unit. They're a little larger facility which was a concern for my husband. Also they weren't that closely located to me, so I passed on them.

This is a good facility. They have private, fully furnished rooms. My grandparents have a one bedroom place, which allows them to host guests in the living room. Each unit is comfortable; it has the amenities of a hotel, including temperature control, TV, and a full bathroom. They also have an attentive staff. There are helpers that work around the clock. They are able to make customized plans that fit the individual. Because my grandparents have memory loss, they really need someone to help administer medication, locate items around the apartment, and help them walk from place to place. There are also staff that come around to do the errands - take out the trash, wipe down the floors/counters, and vacuum the place. When it's time to eat, there is a chef that makes meals three times a day. This, too, can also be customized. As my grandparents have high blood pressure and diabetes, it is important that they get the foods they need to stay healthy. In addition, there are plenty of activities. One important one to my grandparents it the religious service; they are very spiritual, and they need to attend worship service at least once a week. In addition, there are also other planned on-site activity, such as exercise classes. It's fun to watch my grandparents do exercise routines with some of their other friends at the community. Overall, it's a great facility. The only drawback is that it is a bit pricey.

The care and attention my husband is receiving is wonderful. They are so helpful, courteous to me. I usually visit during a meal, and it is provided to me for no additional cost. It is my home away from home.

Upon my walking in I realized that assisted living was much smaller than I had thought. I guess my movie versions of these places took over and I thought they were something they were not. Either way, we checked in with a receptionist (possibly a nurse at the facility) who contacted Michael's uncle. His uncle was in good enough shape to come to us with a different care-taker. We visited him for a small amount of time and then off to his room we went so he could show off a couple of letters that were sent to him by his grandchildren. While Michael visited with his uncle I was observing the areas. The staff seemed mostly female and very patient. Although the place appeared "stuffy", the residents were a lively group of elder people. There were a couple of residents that appeared mentally disturbed or otherwise uncooperative with staff, but they were no real threat. My overall experience was pretty pleasant though we did not spend much time there.

Since we were in the area, we decided to stop in and visit the Silverado Senior Living - Newport Mesa facility as a possible place for our aunt to live. The outer grounds looked very well maintained and felt peaceful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, despite the fact that we did not have an appointment. The decor was fresh and bright and the design easy to access. All of the rooms had lovely and comfortable furnishings with lots of light, fresh air and nice views. The private living spaces were nicely personalized with a home-style and comfortable decor. The bathrooms had safety rails and seats. Each space had good fresh air and natural light. The fitness room had well maintained equipment and they also offered daily yoga and aerobics classes. Seniors could also use the garden courtyards and pathways for exercise on a near year round basis, given the climate of the region. Their calendar of activities included an interesting array of items such as local events which featured many of the stimulating ways to spend time at art exhibits, having discussions, exercising with nature walks and may other opportunities. The menus included many interesting dishes. The dining areas were comfortable, spacious and easy access, for people of various levels of mobility. The residents were offered healthy, home-style cooked meals. The meal we saw looked and smelled very appetizing. Snacks were offered continually, as is water, whenever requested. There was a nice back area with many places to enjoy the trees and nicely manicured lawns. We could see that the residents there were content and well cared for caring and efficient staff kind and we could see that all of the residents were enjoying themselves here.

This facility specializes in Alzheimer's Dementia Care. Located in a beautiful, safe residential area near the coast. I was impressed with the special behavioral training - expertise of the professional staff. This is a step above other assited living facilities that I have been too. The approach to care that they are able to offer is more clinical. I like the fact that they have family support groups and educational forums. They focus alot on the family as well. Beautiful grounds with gazebos and gardens. The presentation of the inereior is quite elegant and upscale. They have animals. Resident showcases help them find their rooms and they can talk about their lives. This is a very professionally run facility and I would consider this for placement.
