The Villas is excellent. We never had a problem. It's really nice, much better than places my mom was in previously. It's convenient for us and not too far away. The staff is really good, we know what’s going on. I haven’t eaten there but they have a list of everything. Mom has no problem eating the food. She has a shared room. She was in a huge shared room. She was okay with it but then they gave her her own room. I don't think she enjoyed that at all. I was surprised, I thought she wanted to be by herself. But she had a little attitude so she was back with someone else.

My mother was there for a little under 2 months, then we transferred her to Kaiser hospital. When I told the social worker some of the things that happened there, she was appalled and said she would be reporting them to the Ombudsmen and proper authorities. If you asked 1 of the workers when a medication was given, they would say they didn't know. If you asked them "How did my mother do overnight?", they didn't know. The hospice nurses told us they had the same observation. They observed that staff did not know enough information about the resident to give an accurate picture and answer their questions properly. We were also told by the lead Karen who works at The Villas, that when family is there, they do not go into the room. So that meant if we were there all day which was quite often, no one would come in and check on my Mom the entire day. She was left to lie in her wet diapers. That was just a few of many issues. I cannot recommend The Villas at all. We were very unhappy with their care.
