We toured Oakwood Meadows Assisted Living. It was clean. It was big. The patients are allowed to go outside and do whatever. It looks like a big older-style house. The dining room was really big, and I didn't get to see the rooms themselves, because a lot was going on that day, and it was unexpected for me. I didn't have an appointment or anything. The staff was very nice and very helpful. They went out of their way to try to help me to amend the problems we were having with the issue with the card. The administrator came out and he spoke to me as well. They were very nice.

I'm in an assisted living called Oakwood Meadows Assisted Living. I've been here for almost 6 weeks now. I think the one thing I like least about it is that my stuff goes into the laundry, they do your laundry here, but I don't get some of it back. I just got through speaking to one of the people who was doing the laundry because I don't know why I'm missing quite a few things. That's probably my biggest client complaint. The second biggest complaint is the fact that I'm sharing a room with a woman that I'm just not compatible with. I also have a lot of food allergies. I know it's a little hard to accommodate me but I'm used to such a healthy diet at home. The food here is more like children's food, I would think, and not healthy adult food. The staff members are very nice. They do a pretty good job. The cleanliness and upkeep here are also probably better than most places. I've attended some of their little craft sessions and like doing word search puzzles in my room. I walk too. I spent about half an hour walking after each meal. That's pretty much it. There's not a whole lot else for me to do here. They do have a lot of activities, just not things that I care to do. They have an arts and crafts area but they don't have an exercise room or anything like that. They could improve on the food and the activities. I know that a lot of people have dementia here, so it's a little bit more difficult to find things that they want to do. They need to do some work on the food, though. I know a lot of the women in this facility have complained about gaining weight because the food is just junk food and most of it is not healthy.

I toured Oakwood Meadows Assisted Living. Everybody has a roommate in every room, and I don't like that. The facility seemed OK. The community that I saw when I was waiting for the person to come around to give me the tour didn't seem happy. It didn't seem like a comfortable environment.

We went here for a tour, and it was a very nice place. They were fantastic. The place is clean, and it didn’t smell like medicine. The rooms were nice, and it's two people per room. I surely would recommend this place.

My wife was here before. It was a very good location. She was in there just after she had a rough time with her health, and they were very kind and helpful with her and helped her get back on her feet. I am forever grateful for the warmth that they gave her the whole time. Rooms, activities, food -- everything was really well done. One of the things I liked about it was that their structure was completely enclosed on the exterior, so that they can have both Alzheimer's patients and other types of patients in the same facility without people feeling enclosed. It was a very pleasant environment for that purpose, and the staff there was just wonderful -- really good people. They were really special.

My brother is here. I could not recommend a better place. I like everything about it. My family says the food is great. The apartments are nice and clean. They have physical therapy. The staff is professional.

There is no perfect place around, but they seem to be doing a good job here. I don't need assisted living myself, but I am here with my wife. I have a feeling that I really shouldn't abandon her and at least try to work with her and go through whatever she is going through. The place is fairly institutionalized, but for an institution, the cleanliness is above average. The staffs are friendly and accommodating because whatever I ask, they'll do. I am in the assisted living center. The rooms are small, but I really don't have any complaints.

It was an older facility but it was very nice and airy. It has a nice backyard where they could garden if they want to, there was a walking path which was pretty long and it was gated. They had a nice game room and everything was very clean, neat and new looking. I watched the helpers and they were very kind with the residents. I’ve been there for lunch and it was very nice and the food was nutritious which I liked. I was very impressed because they didn’t try to impress me.
