I visited this facility

Oak River Rehab was a good community. It's both a rehab center and a nursing home. They had good quality care. They had a special place for rehab and exercise rooms. The staff was very helpful, caring about their patients, and gave them the quality rehab that they needed to where it helped get them out of there fast. The healthcare workers and the nurses made sure that the patients got the proper care so they can rehabilitate at home. The place smelled clean, too. It was a clean place. A lot of the rooms were two bedrooms with curtains. A lot of them had their personal items in them, dressers, chairs, and pictures. They made it a personal room for them, and they're able to bring their own things in. They had a big dining room, the rehab room, and the exercise room. You walk in, it had a huge birdcage. It's real homey. Food was average; it was basic, but they could pick what they want.

My pastor was at this facility for 10 days. He returned today, with nothing but the same dirty clothes he went in from the hospital with. The family took him 4 sets of brand new clothes and new shoes. None of which was sent home! They sent him home in someone else's old shoes, socks that were too big and not his! They didn't even send his comb home with him! I am applaud at this place! Please do not send your loved one here. Their 4 star rating is a lie! I am so tired of these medical institutions using covid19 as an excuse to do these kind of things to our elderly there is no one to check up on these people who run these places. Oak River you are on my list!

I am/was a resident of this facility

I would like to take this opportunity to give a huge thank you to Oak River Rehabilitation in Anderson, between the nurses, aids, others who work behind the scenes, upper management and the doctors, (I would love to individually write each person's name down, but there's way too many people in writing down their names) You couldn't ask for better care of the understanding and the best treatment for your special needs in your recovery, When it comes to your concerns, the staff will do everything in their power to meet your needs and help you with your challenging questions, I can only speak about the rehabilitation side, Oak River also has skilled nursing for long term care, I have met some patients from that side Who I have become very good friends with, There are very pleased with the loving care and treatment in which they receive from the staff, When it comes to physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, I have found them to be very professional in working with you in your rehabilitation or whatever needs you may have, I recommend Oak River to anybody who needs rehabilitation or long term care.

Staff It is not a superlative when I say that the staff, everyone of them, are the most genuine and caring healthcare professionals I have ever encountered. I am very astute when it comes to human character and I encountered not a single 'fake' person. There exists an upbeat, yet realistic approach to interaction with their charges. Staff reacts immediately to clients' needs as well as questions or needs family may have. If ever I need such care as they provide, I have no doubt that I would want to be at Oak River. Thanks to the following directly involved with my loved ones needs. Nurse-Ryan and Kristy. (And all your aides). P. T. - Tamara. Speech-Morgan. Dining-Arlene, (and those whose names I cannot recall). And lastly, every staff member who was in and out. Facility It is a large facility with 143 beds. This means it is a dynamic situation caring for all the clients. Given that, I found it to be more than acceptably clean. There are quite a few activities for those who care to participate. Visiting hours are 8-8. Meals Meals are tailored to each clients needs and are served in the dining area or in your room. Complimentary meals are available to visiting family members. Given this is a healthcare facility, do not expect 5 star meals. Meals are prepared in a healthful manner.

Horrible place and the staff is so rude and uncaring my family member is very sick and was supposed to do physical therapy here and they didn’t really care to motivate or do it with my family member the second time and the last time the physical therapist came in was on a dialysis day when my family member was getting ready to go and we the family we’re there the physical therapist tried talking my family member out of doing dialysis told him to just give it up made me sick to my stomach I told the man wow so uncalled for and the guy said if he’s tired he should give up broke my heart and they had their doctor admit my family member to the hospital and refused to take him back (not that I would want my family member or anyone I love and care about to go back) but they assured us he would be able to come back ended up lying about it and told me his room will be untouched family went to pick his stuff up and it was already boxed she brought it home and more then half his clothes we’re gone !!!!!!!! All the receipts we’re in his room and they we’re gone as well and they refuse to reimburse us or replace his clothes this place is disgusting they are unprofessional uncaring thieves do not put anyone you care about here I’m sorry I ever put my family member here they treated him so bad and took his personal items pathetic place should be shut down horrible just horrible nightmare of an experience!!!!!!! If I can give minus zero stars I would

My husband is at Oak River Rehab, and they are taking good care of him there. They are feeding him, changing him, and making sure he goes to activities. It's not the best facility, but it's OK. The staff is wonderful because they are all certified CNAs and certified nurses. They take good care of everybody. The food is pretty good, and they try to watch the diets of their patients.

Oak River Rehab appears to be clean, and the people that worked there appear to be nice. Though I feel like probably due to lack of funding, it would be nice if they could make things a little bit nicer. It is not exactly the most beautiful place to go to, but the people are nice. They treat my mother-in-law nice. As far as appearance goes, I wouldn't necessary rate it that way up there. As far as how they are with their rehab abilities, I think they are way up there. So far they all seem very nice, and they are very competent. She participates in bingo a lot, and they have a lot of music where people come in to sing or play an instrument. She likes it and enjoys that part of it. I haven't personally eaten there, but my mother never seems to complain much. In general she says the food is fairly good. She might have an occasional meal that wasn't great, but in general she likes the food.
