My husband is a current resident. He has made tremendous progress in one week. Operators Peggy and Patti are extremely helpful as are nurses Holly and Kristi.

I am staying at the Life Care Center of Tucson. They're really warm and very helpful. They're there for you in anything. They anticipate what you need before you need it. There's a fantastic staff here. The only activities I do right now are physical therapy and occupational therapy to strengthen my body and legs. They are definitely helping me get my legs and arms stronger. Their therapists are very good. I have a single room. It's very clean, and it's cleaned daily. I have a running fountain outside my window and a little garden. They are shorthanded and need help. They need more therapists, doctors, and so forth. My insurance takes care of all the payments.

I ended up losing my brother after a stay at Lifecare Center of Tucson, the Care should be stricken from their name. It doesn't exist. He was transferred from the hospital after surgery for rehab. No one cared if help was needed even when he fell on the floor and I was there to help in what I could but he was not able to assist me in getting back up. They always said they'd be right back, while I struggled to help him. He had many tubes that needed to be taken care of that weren't and infection set in, complaining only got the worst care. He ended up getting worse and since the wound wasn't taken care of properly and the doctor there showed up a couple of times and said he'd check with the nursing staff that's all. He ended up getting so bad that he should have been transferred back to the hospital but they didn't transfer him till he was extremely worse and couldn't recover.

I would like to thank your staff for the outstanding service they provided us while touring your facility. They made us feel welcome and comfortable, I had a lengthy list of questions and all of them were answered without hesitation. The facility was clean, and staff was friendly. The few residents I saw, outside their room were clean and seemed content. I would not hesitate to place my elderly mother in your care when the time comes. Thank you for caring.

Family member sent to facility from NW Hospital for rehab until can be moved home. Staff is very slow to react to call buttons. Patient sat on commode chair for over an hour waiting for help. Monitors on patient were going off and was not looked at for hours. Patient was sent to doctors office and no one repaired or checked monitor because it was someone else's job. When patient went to doctor was taken by medical service van called by facility. When time to come back van would not answer phone. Had to take patient back in personal vehicle, then staff at Life Care was rude and said that shouldn't happen Life Care and NW should be embarrassed, do not think they care

I was placed in Life Center of Tucson after a stay in hospital. I found the staff to be kind, caring and friendly. However most of the food was uneatable at best. Things like canned vegetables and fruit. Powdered eggs, cold oatmeal, stale bread. The absolute worse coffee ever. Perhaps someone should clean the urn sometime. Had a hot dog thinking how could they mess that up, I threw up for a couple of hours. Now let’s go on to the condition of the rooms. The bathroom area in the room I was in was filthy. The floor was black in areas. Spilled juice on floor, still there when I left 10 days later. Management should be ashamed of the facility, would never go back

The facility does the best they can with short staffed for Nurse and cna’s. The food doesn’t allow any special diets and differs with every meals and at times is very tasty! Staff is very kind and compassionate . The physical therephy and occupational therapy are the best, great at what they do and loving and caring and try their best. I became very attached to all and very hard to leave. Facility manager, Paul was the best.

Worst place I've ever seen. No compassion and total dis-regard for patients needs. CNA's have 13-14 patients to care for, I have waited up to 1 1/2 hr after pushing call light, no response. Employees walk right by rooms with a call light on, no offer of help at all. We have complained numerous times about many issues, nothing has changed. They also retaliate aftr a complaint or even after you question a nurse, etc., they give you the silent treatment and are rude and uncooperative if you complain, which is againest the Law by the way. Trying to remove your family member is almost impossible, don't make the mistake of choosing this place, I guarantee you'll regret it. Terrible care, actually no care. Terrible mean uncaring employees

I would think twice before you are fooled by the look and the tour. We have a family member there, trying to get her out too. Sat on her bed pan over three hours one day. Did not always get taken to p.t. each day. Food tray left in room almost everyday until family came and asked to have it removed. Nurse bell broken once for whole day and then for about 4 hours another day. Only has received one shower in over two weeks. Nurse spilled her water cleaned up the table (leaving wet napkins on the tray but worse left her in water wet close over 1.5 hours. No matter who we talk too they promise it will be corrected but next day or so next problem comes up. Try to take the family member to an appointment and you will have the director in the room in a flash. So she is a prisoner now? This place looks really nice and the tour sound great. Once you in they will keep you there to get their 303.00 a day. We re now fighting with insurance to get her out of their. They call her insurance not sure why that is their business but making it hard to get out of there.

Though several of the direct care staff and overly busy nurses were competent and kind, the overwhelming experience was of LACK of CARE.. They promised to help mom dress each day for ther therapy sessions. She was only dressed once. Our goal for therapy was for her to be able to get dressed! Her sleepwear and socks were NEVER changed even though her clean clothes were hung up in the room. Dirty laundry stayed in the room for days, making room smell bad. Mom was a fall risk and had orders for a bed alert. NEVER happened! Needed assist to walk to bathroom. Once waited more then 20 minutes with no answer to call button! Finally. VISITOR took her to the bathroom. Cannot recommend.

I had my grandmother placed in this facility. The day shift nurses are quite busy even though there doesn't seem to be that much to be busy about. The male nurses I've found are much friendlier, especially the one on south hall. The care giving aids were very helpful in the morning and the overnight girls are great. But somewhere on the swing shift things fell apart. The phones were not managed well and snacks were a joke but the floor nurses did try to make up for the mess. Wound care was good and once communication got on track things got better. I wish management would do something to help these poor nurses get organized though.

I would not send my dog here unless I wanted it to die...They almost killed my husband with the way they manage their blood thinners..I could not get their doctor or doctor assist to come out and look at him the night his internal bleeding started...We ended up calling an ambulance to have him taken across the street to Northwest hospital. He was in ICU for 4 weeks. I would not give this place any stars...maybe a skull and cross bones rating of 5

This place looked great when we toured it, however it was a sad mistake to send my boyfriend there. Not only did they never answer his buzzer when pressed, they also had no idea what was going on, ever. He suffered from many broken bones, including his pelvis, and was given discharge papers to apply no weight on his legs for the next 3 months. Within an hour after being at life care center, they asked him to get up. Luckily I was there and asked them to actually read the papers they were given. He was there for almost 2 weeks and received about a total of 2 hours of physical therapy. The only reason the hospital sent him there was to receive therapy. We had to literally demand when he wanted to take a bath and clean his bed otherwise that's only "their Sunday task". The food was awful and no one ever knew what was going on. My boyfriend constantly had to tell them, "I'm not allowed to walk, I can't roll over, my arm is broken" etc, because otherwise they would ask him to do these things or roughly perform their daily checks. The part that was so ridiculous, I laughed, was when they sent him to his doctors appointment IN A TAXI. They convinced my boyfriend to stay an extra day, guaranteeing that they would give him a ride to his appointment with his surgeon the next day, HOWEVER when the day came and it was time to go to his appointment, no one came to get him. He waited, then finally managed to get into his wheel chair to go find someone. The front desk had no clue and had to find someone who knew what was going on. Finally, someone found a packet with instructions to get him a ride, however by that time it was already almost time for his appointment. So, they called him a taxi. They had previously told me I wasn't allowed to take my boyfriend to the appointment because I wasn't experienced. When I arrived at my boyfriend's appointment and some random taxi guy was helping him out of the car, I realized Life Care has absolutely no organization skills. When my boyfriend finally came home, the wheel chair they gave him broke within about 3 weeks (front wheel broke off). He called and called and called life care center to ask about getting a replacement since he was paying for the chair and they never knew who to send him to, he left multiple messages for multiple people and no one ever called him back. Finally we just drove him up there to demand a working chair! While all the staff were very nice, I would never send a loved one here again. There was absolutely zero skills in the administration department and if I hadn't been present as much as possible, there were so many instances my boyfriend could have been hurt due to their negligence and lack of being informed of his health concerns. I would rate this place with no stars if I could.

We liked Life Center the best out of the three facilities that we toured. My dad stayed there for about 5 or 6 weeks. It was a good location for mom to visit every day, and it was also close to the hospital. The food wasn’t great. Daddy would click his buzzer at night and they wouldn’t come and that was the complaint. The staff was friendly, and the manager gave us a tour. The physical therapy department was really good and my daddy really liked that.

I would give no stars if it were an option. My grandmother was placed here after an injury & I couldn't be much more unsatisfied with the care she was given. Their sales rep flat out lied to us about the care giver to patient ratio, there were always half the amount that should have been there. Every time she used her call button for assistance to the restroom, she was forced to wait 40 minutes or more. I timed them after I realized how much it was happening. She was forced to get herself to the restroom alone out of desperation only a couple of weeks after surgery. They continually forgot to bring her her pain medication even upon request. They also sent attendants to "assist" her to the restroom that had no idea how to get her up, in which case she was again forced to get herself up in extreme pain. They also kept her room extremely dirty. We had to ask them to clean it. This is a horrible place. Please do not place your loved ones here.

First walking into the facility I felt a little uncomfortable cause there was nobody in the lobby area. The parking situation for visitors was awful, but I do believe this was partially due to road construction nearby. The lady at the front was very rude to me when she finally showed up. As far as my grandmother goes, the staff she interacted with during our stay was patient and very kind to her. The grounds and overall facility seemed to be very well cared for, maintained and actually quite lovely. The outdoor garden was very pretty, the dining area was clean and served better then expected food. I also liked that there are people of all ages working there, I think the seniors especially enjoy the kind young faces. We were shown to the rehabilitation center and gym area as well, I was surprised at how well stocked and state of the art the areas are.
